Paul Will Be Dead, Says Islamic Preacher

Paul McCartney is playing at Israel's 60th anniversary, and it's making Islamic folks all hot under the hijab.

A militant Muslim leader is threatening the ex-Beatle with a suicide bombing if he doesn't cancel his September 25 gig in Tel Aviv, according to the Sunday Express. Omar Bakri, a preacher, says, "He will not be safe there. The sacrifice operatives will be waiting for them."

Macca has said he wouldn't bend to thug pressure.

23. HAHAHA at JElmi. Your husband doesn't follow the Koran otherwise he'd be allowed to kill you for not converting. My guess is that 99% of the muslim world considers him a traitor to the almighty allah.. Get with it, Islam isn't even a religion outside of America, its a way of life and all others are unaccepted. The only peace talked about in the Koran is when all the non believers have been killed.

Kill em all.

24. This people are crazy - they kill just for the fun of it. Don't go Paul - if not for yourself, think of the others that will be killed.
You are not dealing with people who conduct themselves normally. These are crazies. Take the warning for the sake of others seriously.

25. The attack on the world trade center wouldn't be enough to convince Democrats about extremist Islam, but if they were to kill one of their idols like Paul McCarthney, then I have a feeling even the British would even become united in this conflict. It's funny where peoples priorities lay. And for those urging Paul not to go. Well, you people wouldn't stand up against a flea, would you? Compare that against those that stand up against those who threaten their freedom. Hence you have the Cowards vs the heros.

26. I find it interesting that most people have been bashing President Bush for years for getting us in a war in Iraq Now, over fifty percent of these posts are all for going over there and "killing all the people"
Make up your minds......kill, war or what???

29. I should like to hear the former Cat Stevens speak out against this threat against a fellow recording artist.

The former Cat Stevens has already apologized for his conduct in the Salman Rushdie affair, by which I mean supporting the fatwa that was ordered against Rushdie's life. Now this time stand up and say you support Paul. You might even win back a fan or two.

Paul is making a bold move, as he just did in Quebec recently when he sang in English to a francophone audience. He won them over, and I hope he'll win hearts and minds in Israel, too.
