Snake: "I'm Embarrassed, Scared, Crying a Lot"

A painfully broken Jake "The Snake" Roberts finally opened up about his public self-destruction at an Ohio wrestling event -- admitting the whole thing started when the recovering alcoholic fell off the wagon on the day of the match.

During the extremely emotional interview with Chris Yandek on CYInterview.com, Snake blames the relapse on a deeply personal radio interview he gave on the day of the meltdown -- where he opened up about being sexually abused as a child (among other terrible things).

Despite taking the blame, Snake still believes someone slipped something into his drink before the match. But there is good news -- even though Jake admits he's "scared to death" and "crying a lot," he is adamant about not giving up on himself.

16. Is there anyone who can have a meltdown in private? He should be embarrassed. Another sideshow freak wanting the public to come along for the ride.

Get your shi* together dude and keep your problems o yourself.. No sympathy here. But hey, if it makes you happy hang on to the past. Seems to be working well for you.

17. the only thing i will accept is that the Snake was drunk.. we dont know if his drink was spiked or not. the bottom line is this Jake .... ONLY YOU CAN KEEP YOURSELF A PRISONER OF THE PAST. i know its not easy, IVE BEEN THERE, along with many many others. if your scared ... now is the time to make up your mind to DO WHAT IT TAKES to get yourself right. you need to realise that you cant put yourself in situations that are going to cause you problems.
my suggestion is, like in a pervious post .. GET SOME PROFFESSIONAL HELP and stick with it. get yourself away from the things that will open up wounds before they are healed, get off your ass and do it.

18. You do have to feel bad for the people who where genuinely sexually abused as children, but I think many
people claim they were abused either for sympathy or to explain bad behavior. It kind of reminds me of kids who
claim they have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and can't do their homework, but are able to play the
same video game for six hours straight.

19. Now we've had idiots who know nothing about molestation, addiction and even ADD chiming in with their comments. And we have the idiot who says people should keep their issues to themselves, yet he himself surfs TMZ to ogle these trainwrecks. Dang. Is every village idiot in the world posting on TMZ today?

20. It's just too bad TMZ reports incidents like this one cause, they are making tons of money over people's tragedies. And this is serious, Jake was one of the most popular wrestlers back in the days, he was like Hulk Hogan. Unfortunately, the aftermath of the WWF, makes some wrestlers flip like what we see right now.

Jake probably didnt have a good life (think Beyond the Mat who was very negative about him see Poison Jake Roberts Story for info) and now he's stuck with that. Now as a FORMER fan, I can say it's not even funny, it's a shame to see this and it's a shame to see where he is right now. Jake usually has a GREAT mind for the sport, is a great persona and something was wrong.

Unfortunately...

21. Snake, I commend you for coming forward, admitting you have a problem, yet you are still with us. Hang tough, dude, Relapse is going to be lurking around, waiting to beat you down. Kudos for recognizing the problem early and addressing it. Please stop beating up on yourself. You had a bit of a meltdown and seem to have emerged stronger.

To the person who was never sexually abused as a small child - congradulations! Thos of us who have been never forget. I don't dwell, or think about it every day, but I do find it difficult to get a decent night's sleep. Don't make fun of something you can't possible understand.

Best of wishes Snake. You are a big, strong guy and you CAN and will beat this.

Take care of you.

Love, Sharon

22. I heard the interview also. I don't think it is fair to blame Duj or RMG. If he wants to drink he is going to drink regardless. No one made him do it. He chose to do it. He is just finding an excuse to drink just like most alcoholics who relapse. He needs more treatment and he has a long way to recovery but first he has to STOP making excusing on why he drank and straighten his life up. Until then he won't get better. I do wish him well in his recovery.

23. Jake was, is and always be my favorite wrestler. I admire him as a person now as well. I'm sure it was very difficult for him to start facing his demons. Unfortunately, he does seem to need to get himself back into rehap and STAT. Find a good counselor Jake. Trust me, they can work miracles. You're in my prayers.

26. THE PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE PROMOTION OF THIS EVENT SHOULD BE FIRED AFTER LETTING HIM GO OUT TO THE ARENA IN HIS CONDITION. SADLY, NO ONE WAS LOOKING OUT FOR HIM. SOMETIMES IT TAKES SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO GET YOURLIFE BACK ON TRACK. AND TO ALL YOU SAINTS OUT THERE, GLASS HOUSES, MAN. I COMMEND HIM FOR SPEAKING OUT SO QUICKLY ABOUT THIS, AND I HOPE HIS MANAGER GETS HIS ASS FIRED, ALONG WITH ALL THE MONEY HUNGREY PEOPLE WHO LET HIM PERFORM. HANG IN THERE, JAKE.

28. I love how some of the a**holes on here are trying to give advise like they know what it's like to walk in his shoes. Oh, it's so easy to judge while sitting in your comfey home in front of your computer. The more I get on this website-the less I like people in general. How sad.
