"MNF" Announcer Calls in Strong Offensive Line

Last night's "Monday Night Football" game was an offensive showcase -- as in one of the announcers offended the Latino community.

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, ESPN replayed one of the game's highlights with audio from the Spanish-language broadcast. After the clip, "MNF" announcer Tony Kornheiser commented, "I took high school Spanish and that either means that nobody is going to touch him or 'Could you pick up my dry cleaning in the morning?'"

Two hours later, Kornheiser vehemently apologized for the comment, saying, "It wasn't my first mistake, it undoubtedly won't be my last ... but a 100% apology."

32. Tony really ruined the excitement of the game with his mouth. He let be known he is an Eagle fan, and kept down playing the Cowboys. I guess we will have to wait and see who ends up in the Super Bowl. But, please, ESPN , Tony must go, or your Monday Night Football will be history.

33. Apology, Yes. Common courtesy toward anyone offended. Funny, quick witted, all of the above, yes. Yesterday, Clerk at DMV made 'DUMB blonde" joke. My blonde girlfriend who was standing their said "hey, watch it," everybody laughed.
Doesn't mean comment wasn't made to put down another. No apology from clerk.

34. Send Tony Kornheiser to the Canadian Football league. The announcers that covered last nights Cowboy/Eagles game are the worst crew I have ever heard on Monday Night Football. If they remain, I won't. Tony K may do well on (PTI) but he is pathetic on NFL Football. What credential does he have to be part of a NFL game coverage crew. His mouth never stops and when you put him with that, X Eagles quarterback, all they do is argue. Tell them to shut up, with their comments and just announce the yardage +/- and the next down on each play. We can see the game, and all the action, its video not radio play by play. I finally turned off the audio and just watched the game like the other fans.

38. There's no need for apology, gimme a break. He's a disaster anyway on every MNF. Just last week, if you would've taken the word "Brett Favre" out of his mouth, he would've been completely mute.

39. His comment was that no one would "catch" me, not "touch" as reported by TMZ. It was offensive because he made the comment in reference to the issue of illegal immigration. His apology was good and no issue should have been made of it afterward.

As for the ignorant idiots with the "speak Spanish or go" comments....trust me, most of us speak and write multiple languages and we do it correctly. That's much more than you can say for Americans. You can't even speak or write your own language correctly. Wonder why you'll be the minority soon? Bye, bye!

40. I would rather watch and listen to a Spanish broadcast team (even though I don't understand) than watch ESPN Monday Night Football announcers,Howard Cosell is turning in his grave at these CLOWNS

41. My apologies, I mean the idiots with the "speak English or go" comments.

42. The comment just really didn't seem offensive to me. It's all in how you interpret it, seemed like he was just making fun of himself more than anything. But his commentating SUCKED, period!!!! The NFL just needs to send Monday Night Football back where it belongs...ABC! ESPN blows!

43. You can Blame ESPN for blowing this out of proportion, most people didn't even notice this comment until they replayed it and made an aopology

44. Yeah I forgot. USA is the only country where we don't speak more than one language. Those who say speak english or go are showing their lack of IQ.
