"MNF" Announcer Calls in Strong Offensive Line

Last night's "Monday Night Football" game was an offensive showcase -- as in one of the announcers offended the Latino community.

To celebrate Mexican Independence Day, ESPN replayed one of the game's highlights with audio from the Spanish-language broadcast. After the clip, "MNF" announcer Tony Kornheiser commented, "I took high school Spanish and that either means that nobody is going to touch him or 'Could you pick up my dry cleaning in the morning?'"

Two hours later, Kornheiser vehemently apologized for the comment, saying, "It wasn't my first mistake, it undoubtedly won't be my last ... but a 100% apology."

55. This is absolutely ridiculous that he had to apologize. This is America, not Spain or Mexico so why are we even having commercials or anything else in Spanish??? I was actually offended that I had to listen to Spanish and read subtitles in English while watching one of America's favorite past time and nobody has apologized to me!!!!

56. #30: Apparently you do not know your football. I'm a girl and know that the play is most often called "Hook and Ladder", as it was last night. "Hook and Lateral" is o.k., too, but I've heard it much more often in the former manner.

I knew Kornheiser was in trouble as soon as I heard his reference to the dry cleaners. It's easy to tell when the Politically Correct Police are going to respond. People are too sensitive these days.

As for those of you who think we should only speak English you forget that this is AMERICA!!! A BEAUTIFUL MELTING POT. WE CAN SPEAK WHATEVER LANGUAGE WE WANT!! MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO "ENGLAND". 59. I laughed my butt off. But the other half of me was so mad that they did that spanish commercials anyways. If you are in Mexico they are not celebrating OUR holidays in the US, so why should we have done that for them. Shame on ESPN and the other channels.
