Obama -- Hypocrite or Just Plain Smart?

Glad to hear that you are a "tolerant" Christian...What about yesterday, when someone else at a Palin rally yelled out "Kill Him!" Others had signs right in front that said "Obama Bin Lyin" and one man was even carrying a monkey with a Obama sticker on it. I just really feel that because Barack is black, regardless of whether or not you agree with his politics, it has somehow really brought alot of creepy racists out into the open, and Palin's rhetoric about "palling around with terrorists.", and they paint him as being "secretive" and "what do we really know" and "he's 'not one of us'". All of that just gives the racists an opportunity to come out of their closets.
And why didn't John McCain say something about the intolerant minister? He sure was raving about the fact that Obama did didn't defend him about what John Lewis said. John McCain was never really a "right wing" Christian, so why is he allowing his campaign to be taken over with all of the hateful rhetoric?? He was sure not the first choice for the religious right - that was Romney. But somehow he has allowed himself to be swallowed by the base. And he mustnot realize that it is only hurting him and turning off the independent vote.
I have been waiting for you to bring up ACORN. I think the whole thing is much to do about nothing - something to divert the attention away from the economy. The only tie that Obama has to Acorn is that he represented them (and let's not forget his partner was the US Justice Dept) in a "motor voter" lawsuit in Michigan in 1995. For heaven's sake, McCain was the keynote speaker at a rally sponsered by ACORN in Feb 2006, in Montana. The crowd was filled with red shirted ACORN workers and he told them all how that the work they so makes them "special Americans". Obama has his own voter registration squad, and it has nothing to do with ACORN. And the main point is that the ACORN workers were paid by how many new registrations they could get, and so they made up names to get paid. Do we really think that Mickey Mouse and Tony Romo were going to show up and vote?? And the ACORN organization even turned in the made up registrations themselves. But, knowing how the McCain campaign is running, it does not surprise me in the least that they will use it and tell those pesky "low info" voters that somehow Obama is behind the whole thing. Let's not forget 1980, when the GOP in New Jersey hired armed off-duty police officers to stand outside of polling places in urban areas, with their side arms clearly showing, to scare away minorities. I will bet that McCain will not bring up ACORN in the debate tonight because he knows it's nonsense, but he will let his minions talk about it 24/7 on FOX.
New info on the Alaskan Independence party. Remember that Todd Palin belonged to this party from 1995-2002, both he and Sarah attended the 2002 and 2006 conventions, and she even sent a message to their convention this year, 2008. Apparently they have strong ties to a party down here called the "Constitutional Party." They are an extreme party, whose members included Tim McVeigh, remember him?? The guy who bombed the Alfred Murrah Govt Bldg in Oklahoma City. Sounds like the Palins have ties to domestic terrorists. I actually saw the story on CNN and not MSNBC. Of course the McCain campaign sent an e-mail denouncing the story, but CNN said they would send anyone from the campaign to discuss it in person. Hmmmmm...just what kind of person IS Sarah Palin and what is she trying to hide?? Now the shoe is on her foot - c'mon Sarah, be honest and just tell us, that's what you've been hollering about Obama to do!!
Can't wait for the debate tonight. Do you really think that McCain will bring up all the business about Ayres, Wright, etc...? He's been hinting on the trail that he will. Personally I think it wouldn't be smart, as it will turn off even more moderates and independents. I think he's kind of in a tough spot. If he does, he will look silly to independents, and if he doesn't he will let down the base who want him to "really go after him." Thoughts??
PS - did you see Geo Bush 41 and Bill Clinton together to form the "Bush Clinton Coastal Fund?" I think it is great. I have always have alot more respect for Bush Sr than Bush Jr. My friend says that Bush Sr probably wishes that Clinton were his son, rather that "W". Why would McCain want to divert attention away from the economy ? You talk about no debt during Clinton but all of Obama's spending programs will cost 40-60 billion even if he ends the war and reduces the spending he outlines. How is that going to solve the debt. It is funny because your "evil" Cheney also had 5 deferments. Do you give a pass for that too as you do Biden ? The dems didn't and neither do I. So how did your girl Hillary nad her husband Bill help matters by also brining up Ayers, Wright, and Rezco. Obama has been secretive about his relationship in saying he is just a guy from his town. He announced he was running for the senate from Ayers house and provided funding for Ayers to radicalize school chidren. He lied about their relationship just as he did about Wright and Rezco. He only denounced them after it became politically expedient. Why wouldn't mCcain bring up Ayers when Obama as much as dared him to. John Sidney McCain is against torture and so am I. Do you honestly think that us not doing it is going to stop other countries that employ suicide bombers. This is the basic problem with many Liberals. You just don't get it. How is it that Walter Annenberg, who started the foundation that Obama and Ayres were both on, and was (and his wife still is) one of the largest contributors from Illinois to Republican presidential campaigns since the 1950's chose Ayres to be on that Board? His wife gave a large contribution the McCain this year - should he give it back?? Obviously Annenberg didn't give a hoot about Ayres past. Maybe next time we will discuss McCain and his good buddy, G. Gordon Liddy...

Lynette Clark, one of the chairpersons of the Alaskan Independence Party, was quoted a few days ago as saying that they are "thrilled" that Sarah Palin has been tapped for VP - Why??? When Palin gave up her seat on the Wasilla City Council to run for Mayor, she wanted some nut named Scott Storch(sp?) to fill her seat - he was one of the biggest members of the AIP in Wasilla - the council turned her down flat - I think there's more to her and the AIP than she is saying...Remember the founder, Joe Vogler, said that he has no use for America or her damn institutions and that he wouldn't be buried under our damn flag...domestic terrorist???
Doesn't it bother you at all that Palin is runnning around acting like she has been cleared, when clearly she was not?? How can she be quoted numerous times saying that they found she did nothing unethical, when she DID violate an ethics code?? The lastest is that the Personnel Board, who she thought she had in her back pocket because she appointed them all, has hired an outside, independent lawyer, to study the findings. I think they are all like rats jumping from the sinking ship and will abandon her - yea!! The truth will come out!! Todd Palin also said that he informed Walt Monegan that Mike Wooten had shot a moose with someone else's permit - he was stupid enough to admit that the permit was Sarah Palin's!! He was trying to show that Wooten was doing illegal things, but it has now come out in the report that the story was 3 years old when he told it, that he had Palin's permission to use the permit, and that the Heath family (sarah's) had helped him butcher it and they all ate the evidence - isn't that special??
About Acorn - the Democrats have lived through Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004...cry me a river...

LOL That is weird ! If you are going to talk about Hagee then I am going to bring up Rev. Jesse Jackson who has called NY Himee Town and recently said, that "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" would lose much of their influence should Senator Obama be elected president. I would also have to bring up Louis Farrakhan. I am sure that although CNN has gotten much more fair than they used to be that a list of the same title on FOX would bear different names including William Jefferson Clinton and Barney Frank. 2000 was won in the highest court in the land and the VP on that ticket supports McCain.

I don''t like Farakhan or Jesse - and I don't think they have any involvement in Obama's campaign...I do know that McCain called Rod Parsley, in Feb 2008, a "spiritual guide" - this is the same guy who has said that Christian's "need to wage a holy war with Islam." Yikes.
I don't get why people are so afraid of Obama. Even to me, who tries very hard not to be racist, although I think it goes back and forth in everyone, of any race, to some degree, I honestly don't see Obama as a black man. Jesse, yes. Farakhan, yes. But to me, Obama transcends race. That is why I think, and hope, that the Bradley effect won't work this time.
I do like CNN the best - I also enjoy Olbermann and especially Rachel Maddow. I watch fox occasionally during the day to validate my points and see that they are now on ACORN 24/7. I will check in on Hannity and Colmes, because I like Colmes - Hannity is an interrupting blow hard, same as O'Reilly and Rush. Why must they be such bullies? At least on MSNBC they do it with humor. And why is it that Palin's last 4 interviews have been with Hannity, Mike Gallagher, Van Sustren, and that God awful Limbaugh? At least Obama had the guts to go on O'Reilly. The REPRESENTATIVES of the campaign won't even go on Olbermann - what are they afraid of - if they are so right, they could take him, right?? Rush calls Obama an Arab and then the campaign allows Palin on his show - they must endorse the crap that comes from his mouth. He really is sickening and it scares me that people take his word as the gospel truth...He just sounds so angry all the time - no wonder his listeners are all so fired up.

My only worry now will be the state of race relations in this country after Nov 5th. With Palin running around talking about "pro-America" parts of the country, Michele Bachmann calling for a witch hunt in Congress to find out who's anti-American, and McCain's brother calling the part of Virginia that has alot of Democrats, "Communist country" (As well as McCain's spokesperson, Nancy Pfotehauer) It makes me sick that they are dividing this country. Because some of us don't share your views we are somehow "anti-American? How sad...I just hope we can heal from THAT.

The CNN thing was ridiculous and if you believe the reporter didn't accidently on purpose use the quote totally out of context then you believe that Barrack sat in that church for 20 years and just happened to not be there every time Wright was using his inflmatory and racist remarks. The thing about the cost of her wardrobe is equally riduiculous considering the fact that Obama/Biden have out spent McCain by multiple millions. I know you don't care for Palin but when the Repubs brought up Ayers and Wright you said they were desperate. Obama is far ahead so why are they doing it ? Do you remember me writing that Obama would be tested. Biden agrees. Barrack tired to spin what he said but he did not say both would be. What do you think about Murtha's comments?

I was so emotional last night watching Obama's speech - he truly has always kept himself above the pettiness that this entire country (including you and I ) engaged in during this campaign.
I do think that he is exactly what this ciountry needs right now. Have you seen the ugly racist comments that were posted on this site when Obama's grandmother died?? It really made me sick. My father-in-law (the racist in Florida) called Tues morning and was yelling at my husband that "we should all be very afraid" and "our country will never be the same" We just listened to him rant and shook our heads when he hung up. The kids (1st and 5th grade) voted at school and I was so proud of them when they came home and said "we voted for Obama!!" They never saw his color - what a great thing. They also knew Joe Biden, John McCain and Sarah Palin.
It was fun to watch the crowd in Chicago - I'm not an Oprah fan, she's a bit much for me, but I was touched to see Jesse Jackson crying, even though I'm not a big fan of his either. I don;t think that Obama is going to be "the black president." He told Steve Kroft on 60 minutes a year ago that "those kids need to pull up their pants." LOL
I don't want to address alot of your comments, the fight is done. Except to say that Palin's OWN personnel board conducted the 2nd investigation, without much of the previous evidence(Andrew Halcro's blog) so the outcome wasn't surprising. And if we want to discuss family members, then we can go to Palin's husband, Bristol, the future son-in-law,dropped out of school, and the fact that Cindy McCain was Jon's mistress for over a year before she became his wife. See? Everyone has issues in their families,
As far as the coal industry, McCain has made alot of the same statements. Do you think that If Obama had sang "Bomb. bomb. bomb Iran" or said "the fundamentals of our economy are strong" or suspended his campaign, he would be our next president? Of course not. McCain, to alot of us, really looked erratic. And I do believe that his choice of Palin, while capturing the base, did turn off the independent voters. She will no have a future on the national stage, mark my words. I think the future of the GOP will be fiscal conservatives and social moderates.
It was interesting to see McCain's speech last night - didn't like the fact that people there were still booing Obama, while, when Obama mentioned McCain and his heroism, people cheered. He was the old John McCain, the one that wasn't taken over by the base of the GOP, the one who wasn't mesmerized with the tactics of Karl Rove. He will have alot of time to figure out what went wrong. I heard alot of people say tqo thinkgs: It was Palin, and he wasn't the same McCain of 2000. I think those two thing did him in.
Do not be afraid. The country is not being hoodwinked by a socialist. Obama is a uniter, not a divider. He will not "spread the wealth" - all taxes go somewhere, he just wants to make sure that the middle class is able to prosper and the wealthy pay the same as when Clinton was President. I think he will do fine - did you see the entire world's reaction to his election? It was really touching. I just hope tht he can restore our respect in the world - "YES WE CAN!" I only pray for his safety after seeing the outporing of awful hatred and racism in this country.
