Ryan O'Neal Busted in Meth Mess

There is no father/son bonding activity quite like being busted together for methamphetamine.
Ryan O'Neal and son Redmond were booked on suspicion of narcotics possession this morning.

Authorities said they were doing a probation search at the family's Malibu home when they found Redmond O'Neal in possession of methamphetamine and a vial of the drug was allegedly found in Ryan's bedroom.

The father/son are being held on $10,000 bail.

McCain Swings at Barack Over Lindsay

John McCainJohn McCain has weighed in over Barack Obama's reported slap in the face to Lindsay Lohan. The Chicago Sun-Times quotes an unnamed high-level Barack source who says they rejected Lohan's offer to host an event because she "is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us."

Tucker Bounds, a spokesman for the McCain campaign tells TMZ, "So let me get this straight -- they turned away Lindsay Lohan, but Barack Obama has friends like unrepentant terrorist Bill Ayers and convicted felon Tony Rezko? Maybe LiLo is just too upstanding for Barack Obama."

UPDATE: Tommy Vietor, Obama's spokesperson, just told TMZ, "Glad to see they're focused on the important issues over in McCain HQ."

Obama -- Hypocrite or Just Plain Smart?

Barack Obama reportedly turned down a request from Lindsay Lohan to host a few Barack events, claiming "she is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us."
The Debate: Click to view!
McCain's camp is incredulous -- Obama's peeps think McCain is wasting time on a trivial matter. But it triggered a debate in our newsroom; since Obama did drugs when he was young, is this a little hypocritical in the Department of Forgive and Forget?

Dakota Fanning: Awkward Stage Officially Over

Dakota Fanning Dakota Fanning appears to have survived that awkward, unfortunate stage that afflicts many child stars somewhere between puberty and their first DUI.

The 14-year-old turned up to the NYC premiere of "That Dakota Fanning Rape Movie" last night, looking like quite the lovely young lady.

Your move, Abigail Breslin.

166. Say what you will, but I just don't see Ryab O'Neal sitting down with a crystal meth pipe and getting high with his youngest son. Perhaps he had confiscated the vial from Redmond the night before. My Dad swiped my grass once after I thought that my parents had gone to bed (Gimme that!!--and we'll talk in the morning, young man!") and had to have put it in their room for the time being (No, Pop didn't toke up). Thank God I wasn't on proation for anything. Hoo boy! Let's all simply wait and see how this plays out. And gees, please, leave any disrespectful comments about Farrah or ANY politician out of this ... as soon as I see a hint of the name Obama or Palin, I just ignore the whole post anyway. And hey--Spell-Check can be used on these messages before you send them.

167. It's enough to make you speechless! Maybe we are all naive, re: the big picture of Hollywood stars, or former stars, & their families, when it comes to alcohol & drug use.
I figure we'd all be shocked, if we knew the lowdown on every family in the public eye. Drug dealers don't seek out unknowns, or low income folks, for the most part. They find their way to celebrities.
I hope these two will go into rehab, & maybe even recover, to some semblance of normalcy.
Now hear this: G.W., McCain, & Palin have absolutely nothing to do with any of this! You are sooooo deluded, if you think so! Get a life.

168. and by the way he is right obama to refuse linsday lohan who is this useless eater. a trinket orirented shashma. not only he should refuse her offer. he shouldn't evern mention her name she is a disgrace for this country like many , and a disgrace for the purpose of human like most hollywood actors and actresses they live to please their private parts . and yes people who use drugs and deal with it , their liberty should be taken away from them. enough leniency to law breakers, sluts and debauchery of all kinds . that ;s why the country is plunging because of using freedom to promote immorality . freedom is to be free from the serviture of the sin and the physical filthiness ,and freedom of the soul not the body . we need a good dictator in this country to really bring it back like the day of the founding fathers. otherwise these usless eaters will use the constitution to their own purposes and amusements.

172. Sarah has WHAT to do with this?? As far as personal liberties, it was a probation search! Moral: don't get arrested and you wont be searched AND Sarah wont come to your home. Wait...I wish she WOULD come by my place....she is a fascinating person...reference Teddy Roosevelt.

174. Meth is a vicious drug and takes no prisoners when it is done with the user, so what the hell is a 67 year old former movie star doing with it & allowning his kid to indulge. O'Neil's glory days are over & he has to be sitting on a bucket load of his past earnings & investments, but is this way he wants to leave a legacy to his kids. What a pitiful example.

175. 4. Police have no right going through someones home. Another liberty lost, compliments of the Bush administration.

WHAT AN IGNORANT COMMENT. I hate Bush but cone on dont be a retard. Police have had that right for decades, it has nothing to do wiht Bush. The only people this would upset are the people with something illegal going on in thier homes.

179. The drug war creates a black market whereby unqualified people sell and manufacture many of these super strong street drugs. Prohibition creates super strong street drugs, meth, the horrible crimes stemming from the black market and the decline in our social and economic infrastructure.
In other words, we would not have meth, super strong street drugs, crimes, deaths ruined lives (both legally and physically), violations of our Bill of Rights and Constitutional protections, and the death and injuries, if we had instituted "harm reduction" in our drug law making policies. If we would have allowed cocaine tea (considered a health tonic rich in vitamin C and other nutrients in South America), opium gum/tea and marijuana, years ago, we would not have meth, super strong street drugs, designer drugs and the crime today. The narcophobes have been viciously ramming prohibition down our throats like and angry foul smelling canker pus cover penis during a violent oral rape for several decades now.
