I'm sorry, but at what point have we had "young guns" in office? And if that truly is your problem why are you in such a hurry to defend Sarah Palin, the youngest, least experienced person on ANY presidential ticket? Her decisions relating to her personal life (questionable though they have been) are irrelevent and insignificant when compared to her constant unethical and pandering behavior during her Alaskan regime that prove she has no idea what she's doing and no business in ANY position of power much less potential president. And I say potential president because let's face it - McCain IS old and will probably not survive a full term if (God forbid) he is elected.

My problems with McCain have little to do with his age. Reagan was old and, for the most part, harmless. "W" is only 10 years McCain's junior and yet he's been a fear-mongering, war-profiteering nightmare. No, my problem with McCain is his politics plain and simple. Setting aside for the moment his conservative views on abortion, same sex marriage, and civil rights, he's BAD for the ecomony - he thinks everything is just fine and dandy. His selection of Sarah Palin shows not only poor judgement and non-existent research skills but also that he has no problem manipulating the public. He selected her for one reason - she's a woman. That was his attempt to make us (as women) see him in a new, more progressive light. For those of us who have the presence of mind to learn about the candidates his tactic failed miserably.

I won't vote for someone because of their gender any more than I would because of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Unless those factors DIRECTLY effect their ability to lead they are irrelevent. Obama has my vote because he has proved time and time again to be a calm, logical, rational man who makes careful decisions after weighing the options. His econimic veiwpoint is not colored by contributors and his social politicss (though not liberal enough for me to be completely happy) are sound and sorely needed to bring our country out of the middle-ages.

17. My husband thinks she's hot but also very intelligent. I've watched her interviews & she is so impressive & I think voters find it easier to relate to her than most politicians.

18. Very well stated my man (or WOman). As a white American I totally agree with you. Just from my browsing the occasional chat rooms this site puts up is enough evidence of how right you are. It saddens me to know that we haven't advanced that much as a country or as a species. Very sad indeed.

After everything that has happened to this country during the Bush administration, it blows my mind that anyone would vote for someone from that party. Yes, he may have experience in certain areas, but the man is out of touch, period. As for his running mate, she is no more qualified than Paris Hilton or Brittany Spears to be a VP nominee.

Also, how dare they throw a woman up in that position in order to "sway" the Hilary voters in that direction. Do they really think we're that STUPID, BLIND!!!!!

Yes, they do and that's the problem. When Obama won the candidacy all anyone talked about was how he was going to make history as the first African-American president. That should NOT be the focus of this election and Obama's camp doesn't tout it as a reason to vote for them, however McCain is narrow-minded and thinks that he's all hype. His knee-jerk reaction is the same as my three-year-old's when she wants something her big sister has. He said to himself, "But I wanna make history too!!" And so he selects his VP - a woman. He's exploiting her for her gender and she's encouraging that.

They both disgust me.

Wow, lets take a look at some of the problems with Obama being elected: 1st and formost his own running mate said he would run with McCain first. 2nd Obama has the least amount of exprerience out of all 4 of them. He goes to a church for over 20 years and only now does he not agree with the pastor, WHAT!!!!! thats not right no matter who you are! This is not a perfect world. We only have 2 choices to chose from. Don't pick Obama just because you want to see history happen. Keep in mind we will have record breaking voting this November for 1st time voters; WHY? Because they want to make history! That is not right. Make history for voting for the right person not by what color his is!!!!!
