Full Recovery Expected for Barker and DJ AM

A doctor has announced that Travis Barker and DJ AM are expected to have a full recovery after yesterday's horrific plane crash.

Barker and Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein were severely burned yesterday when their Learjet crashed before takeoff from a Columbia, South Carolina airport. The crash killed four people, including Barker's assistant Chris Baker.

Dr. Fred Mullins, medical director of the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, said both Travis and Adam suffered second and third-degree burns. Mullins said Barker's torso and Adam's arm and part of his head were burned.

16. Too bad people don't act this way about the troops that get burned and mutilated everyday in Iraq. I'm not saying anything bad about theses two, but soldiers are real heroes...not drummers.

24. Regardless of what anyone says, someone was watching over them. And it's true, it was not their time to go. So why sit and say they weren't lucky and there is no good that come from it. I'm sure that those two men and their family and friends feel greatly different from that view point. I think it's great to hear they are recovering well.

25. #6 is right.
A full recovery is a stretch and I really question this doctor. They will NEVER be the same. I know a burn victim that is still dealing with the incident 15 YEARS after the fact. She's not able to sweat on her face cuz she has no pores-all her skin was grafted from other parts of her body. This will happen with Adam unfortunately. Both of them will be highly prone to infection for many years and will suffer in the long run. Third degree burns=burnt almost all the way through, damaging muscles and possibly orgins. This doctor doesn't know what he is talking about.

26. I agree that everyone should be acting this way about the troops and it's sad that they don't. But does that mean that any other life is greater than another? If people want to react to troops there are blogs where that can be done. But unfortunately this is an entertainment site, so that is why reactions to the troops are not being talked about here.

28. Glad to hear that they are going to be ok. I am happy that Chris's wife was not having a baby as this horriable tragedy was happening. My prayers will be with them all at this diffcult time.

29. if we could all have the insight that #24 has. I, too, know a 3rd degree burn victim and he has returned to a normal life, as the doctor stated. He did have to have physical therapy on his feet but returned to being an awesome golfer and dad.

30. I can't imagine what they are going through, and I hope I never do. I don't want anyone to think that all I am thinking about is this, because I am not, I am thinking about their pain and well being, but I feel bad for Travis because now all that tattoo work and all it's meaning is probably f**ked up and will never be the same and he can't get it redone if he has scar tissue. It just sucks because I know how much his body art means to him. I am not trying to be petty, this is just an after thought.
