Crash Site Perspective

We've obtained some detailed photos of the Learjet crash site that almost took the lives of DJ AM and Travis Barker.

The photos show the airplane's errant path down the runway, large bits of debris (including the main landing gear) and some frightening shots of the devastation to the plane. It's shocking to think anyone could have made it out alive.

UPDATE: Federal officials say the crew members told air traffic controllers they thought they heard a tire burst and tried to abort takeoff. The Feds say the plane was traveling at least 92 mph (the minimum takeoff speed) when the crew became alarmed. Pieces of tire were found 2800 ft. down the 8600 ft. runway. The plane came to rest on an embankment a quarter-mile past the end of the runway.

7. They were doomed and knew it, if it's true, this is not pilot error. The chain of events will come out soon though. How terrifying for the pilots to see what they knew was coming, and had they taken off, they would have crashed anyways. So sad.

9. Its unbelievable that two people came out alive. My prayers are with the two recovering victims, their families, andof course with the families and friends of the four victims that did not make it.

one of Mark's friends called and asked if i was crying all day.
(no, i have not been crying but it was funny how many people know i'm so crazy for my Travis.) ha ha ha

anyhow, he is in Ga right now and i would give anything to be in Shanna spot. she left the kids to come be by Travis. being by his bed side most be the best thing ever. to know that you are the most specialist one to be by him in his time of need. they are so in love and they so belong together. i could not even imagine almost loosing your soul mate and ur children's father. she must be so happy he jumped out of the plane, or ran out the back door or how ever they got out in the last min.

well, the best of luck to him and everyone on the plane, ...
i'm sure he will hold Shanna and the kids just a little tighter now that this has happened.
maybe him and Shanna will get back together.
with his waist being all burned up and probable scared for live, maybe he can see that Shanna loves him for better and worst.

i can't imagine how tight he will hug, Landon (his son) and Alabama (his daughter) when he gets to see them again.
knowing that he might have not gotten that chance.

14. As a pilot, i can tell you that some pretty scary stuff happens on a regular basis. Even with perfect weather and no prior mechanical difficulties, horrible things can happen fast.. faster than most people would be able to react. So as funny as people might think it is to blame the pilot because she's female, please keep the comments to yourself. That poor flight crew knew exactly what was happening and likely burned to death while still conscious.. a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
