Chris Baker's Final Photo

TMZ has obtained a photo of Chris Baker just moments before he boarded the Learjet that crashed on takeoff.

Baker sent the cell phone photo at 11:22 ET, 31 minutes before the plane crashed. Baker e-mailed the photo to a friend with the text, "Go hard on the block."

Baker, Travis Barker's assistant, was one of the four people who died in the crash. The video of the jet was shot by Baker before he boarded.

106. That jet only needs a 4500 ft runway to take-off, the one they were on was over 8000ft....seconds were lost in aborting take-off tha could have avoided this outcome. I'm thinking pilot error now.

107. I agree.
TMZ, come on.
I used to support some of it, but now I have lost all respect for you.

First the Travis 911 call....
now this?
If you had any heart, you'd take this photo off the page.
Like I said, no one (especially friends and family of Chris) wants to see a photo of him right before he died.
What, is is supposed to make us feel better?

Get with it.

109. Wow..First off I can not believe how Insensitive people can be. Yes it is sad that this video was sent to friends and family . Its sick that somehow it got released to this trashy website. It is something that should of remained private. Please keep your ignorant comments to yourself. Anyone who knew Chris knew he was a kind soul. He was an amazing man and father and was proud to take care of his family. He was humble and a loving friend. ...Who would do ANTHING for his friends and family. He was the glue that held everyone around him together. This is a tragic accident that no one was expecting. So when you post your ignorant comments about Chris remember he never asked for these photos to be released to the public and keep in mind that his family is suffering greatly. Instead of commenting on him say a prayer for his beautiful son who lost his father. Chris loved life and lived every day to the fullest.

And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

We love you Chris~ know that you have touched all of us and we will always keep a part of you....close to our hearts..

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.

110. TMZ- Why do you really have to have the TMZ image across his face? Being a bit possessive with a photo that doesn't belong to you don't you think? Show the picture for memorial purposes, not publicity, we all know what site we are on.

111. The airplane in the photo on top is not the one that crashed. That is a Hawker and the plane that crashed was a Learjet 60.

114. Is this picture a fake???? Some simple web searches will show that the jet that crashed had only 1 stripe down the side and this one in the picture has 2.

115. When an airplane is ready for takeoff at full speed and the tire blows out, wouldn't it be better to continue takeoff, then notify the destination airport of an emergency landing?
I'm not a pilot but would like to know if there's a standard answer.
To me it seems like a bad idea to try stopping an barely airborn plane near the end of a takeoff runway on a blown out tire.
Finishing the takeoff opens other options like parachutes, other specialist rescue operations, and would call for plenty of emergency landing prep / runway.

117. I Cant believe this that's just crazy. I was a flight attendant for 3 years. I met both Travis and Chris on one of my flights from Buf, Ny. Both of them were soo sweet and polite to me even that earlier in the morning. I talked to them for most of the flight and in the Dulles airport, until it was time for them to head back to LA. I just cant believe i have gone into that airport over a hundred times.

118. Did anyone know that this was a T-Mobile event put on by the PR firm Bragman Nyman Cafarelli?

119. This still photo is of Chris Baker in front of Hawker and not the Learjet that crashed. He probably liked the looks of the Hawker, and had his photo taken near in front of it before he boarded the Learjet. RIP and may God be with Chris' friends and family especially at this time.
