This Chunky Monkey Tastes Like Aunt Esther ...

PETA has sent a letter to the co-founders of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream urging them to replace the cow's milk they use in their products for, ahem, human breast milk.

PETA claims human breast milk would cause less suffering for dairy cows and would make a healthier choice for humans. For their part, Ben and Jerry's say they applaud PETA's novel approach -- but believe a mother's milk is best for her child only.

Think of it this way ... Bristol Palin and Jamie Lynn could use their new motherhood for lucrative afterschool jobs!

46. Well, what does anyone expect from a group that kills more animals themselves than all the people they accuse of animal abuse combined. Losers, one and all.

47. How does PETA suggest that they obtain the breast milk? If they think it's cruel to a cow, try hooking your boobies up to a breast pump and tell us how THAT feels!!!! Idiots!

48. Less suffering for the cow??? PETA is so stupid. Milking a cow is actually healthy for them. PETA and all you crazy animal lovers get your facts straight...cows need to be milked, period! Also, I was raised on WHOLE milk and sometimes milk that came straight from the farm...that's right...raw milk. I have never had a broken bone in my body. I am sick of PETA placing all their animal rules on the rest of us when they are the ones that are killing all the dogs...yeah, hear that story??? Let me share it with you http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS238333+11-Jan-2008+PRN20080111. So, I guess PETA is allowed to kill animals but I'm not allowed to eat a steak or drink cow milk. HMMM...these "I'd rather go naked" celebs should really do research into whom they are supporting. Stupid PETA...I should take up hunting just to make them mad...YUMMMMM...backstraps and deer jerkey!!! Killing animals for food is not a crime. I don't go after you for cutting the head off of lettuce and consuming it; don't come after me for eating my chicken wings!

49. I'm a vegan and I do NOT agree with PETA. This is just gross!!! You’d think maybe they’d suggest adding soymilk or coconut ice creams to their menus, but no leave it to PETA to suggest human milk!?!?!

Most vegans, like myself don't believe we as milk weaned adults we shouldn't even be consuming milk, not matter where it came from! Plus, even if w were to buy into this CRAZY idea, to make it truly vegan, you'd have to have an army of detoxed, drug free vegan women making the milk with Organic stamped to their asses. Ha.... just so stupid.

PETA gives real animal rights activists a bad name.

50. I'm thinkin I taste a publicity stunt here. And it seems to be working. Obviously TMZ would rather give away free publicity than make PeTA pay for a spot on the site. But then again....birds of a feather......

51. If you want to commercialize human breast milk, shouldn't it be used to feed malnurished babies here and throughout the world vs. using it in a snack for already obese Americans?

These same folks that belong to PETA, are the ones voting for Obama. PRETTY SCARY.

52. I have 4 children and breastfed all of them but this is ridiculous. Its abusive for a cow to be milked but women are fair game??
Obviously not too many people at PETA have tried expressing milk because believe me its not pleasant. Not to mention what kind of woman will be making this donation and the fact that any kind of prescription, street drugs or alcohol that woman consumes can be passed down through your milk!! It's called SOY milk PETA and it's perfectly safe.

53. How is that idea even remotely feasible economically? Can you imagine how much "product" would be required to churn one pint of Cherry Garcia?

If you're a Democrat and resent being tagged a "liberal wacko," these PETA freaks are not doing you any favors.

54. Gross!!!!! The thought of that makes me never want to eat ANY ice cream again! I just ate & think I'm getting ready to puke!! EWWWWWWWWWWWW.

56. This is by far the nastiest thing i have heard in awhile. Breastmilk for babies yes, for adults wanting something sweet no not so much!! If they are really concered with the treatment of cows, suggest soy! what about the treatment of woman that i guess they assume are more than willing to supply their breastmilk for ice cream! come on now... these PETA people need to lay off the drugs and get a grip!

57. #2 Exactly!. That is disgusting especially considering the risk of transmission of HIV and other viruses in breast milk. I rather trust the cows and pasteurization. Don't care if HIV or other viruses are killed in pasteurization or not!

58. can i just say, Ben and Jerry don't even own Ben & Jerry's anymore. PETA sent the letter to the wrong people.

59. Some times PETA just take the piss.
It gives animal welfare a bad name.
