Mickey & Miley Give Gays the Heave-Ho

9/26/2008 6:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

For a shirtless guy in red hotpants, you'd think Mickey Mouse would be a little friendlier to the gay community.

Disney is throwing Miley Cyrus a huge 16th birthday bash at Disneyland during the same weekend as the traditional Gay Days, which brings tens of thousands of gays and lesbians to the amusement citadel.

Despite the fact that Miley's actual birthday isn't until November, the park will be shutting down early on October 5 to accommodate Miley and her tween minions.

Of course, the gays are more than welcome to hit up Disney's California Adventure theme park next door -- but who the hell wants to go there?

I HOPE ALL YOU HOMOPHOBES OUT THERE HAVE A CHILD THAT IS GAY... THEN MAYBE YOU WILL HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING ! IT'S THANKS TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT THE SUICIDE RATE OF TEENAGERS IS SO HIGH BECAUSE THEY ARE PETRIFIED OF HOW THEY WILL BE JUDGED AS A GAY OR LESBIAN... THERE ARE MORE GAY AND LESBIAN PEOPLE OUT THERE THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE, MOST OF WHO ARE STILL IN THE CLOSET OR LIVING IN DENIAL..... GOD CREATED ALL OF US EQUALLY.

I hate to burst all of your bubbles, but Disney would close the park for Miley's bday whether it was gay days or not. At least they were courteous enough to extend the hours for another park. They didn't have to do that. This has nothing to do with gay or not. The park would have closed early regardless.

First of all, Gay Days is a private group and Disneyland is not going to turn away a private group BUT Disney does support gays and they were one of the first companies in the US to offer same-sex benefits to their employees.
Second, if you didn't want to see a bunch of "gays" at Disneyland then you should have done your homework before visiting the park because this event happens once a year and if you would have planned your visit better you would have known that.
Third, Disneyland is for everyone! Not just kids or homosexuals BUT everyone!! There were a lot of gay families in attendance and that was great to see!

As for the ignorant people posting on here about gays being this or that...really get a life and exercise your vote! Do something constructive like go to a poll and vote rather than posting your close minded views on a tabloid website!

Hooray for Miley; it's the first time she's done anything I like. And hooray for Disney, for keeping the pervs out of the park while the kids gather to watch one of their pop idols. Why Disney tolerates Gay Days is beyond me. I hope the gays who infest the park with their little red shirts realize that they're doing nothing but further antagonizing people not sympathetic to them... or hey, maybe that's the idea. At any rate, Gay Days is a public relations disaster for the gay community; maybe one of them will someday pull his/her/its head out of his/her/its partner's ass and realize that, and go pollute some other venue. The Disney parks should be wholesome havens for families, not a pick-up site for sexual misfits. Gay Days should go away!

Hey, I think everyone needs to chill out. You guys should've watched Dr. Phil's episode on the Same Sex Marriage debate this past Monday. I couldn't watch it or my mom would've had a hissy fit, but I think the point of it was to get both sides together and point out that they all were using nasty tactics to get their point across. People on both sides of the conflict need to learn to live together in harmony. We can't just force each other to accept conflicting views. Gays can't force conservative Christians to give up their ideas because they're seen as "homophobic" or "hateful" no more than the Christians can force gays to take back their marriage vows. Everyone's being hateful, no matter what side you're on.

Oh, and when people who don't believe in God say "i wonder how your God feels about that" when referring to when a public Christian figure screws up or does something wrong, how about Christians start saying every time a gay couple gets a divorce or breaks up "well, you're wasting that priviledge we gave you after years of complaining about it". Would that be nice? No. Just because someone is in Christian doesn't mean they can't make a mistake. We're all human.
