Ghost of Merv Sues Ed

31. It always surprises me how so many posters can be so free with others money and assets. As I see it, Ed was at one time a rich man but was foolish about taking care of his money and other assets. He had the gall to ask friends for help and apparently signed paper work as did his wife in agreement with a repayment schedule. Now if it were Joe Blow and his wife that did this, no one would have waited so long to collect and Joe and wife would have been making their payments more then likely. Joe has more responsibility then the so called famous institution Ed McMahon. To those of you that think he needs and deserves help I say, give him half of your incomes and see what thanks you get. The answer is none at all.

37. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He is an old man trying to keep a young gold digging wife happy. She clearly married him for his money, then she preceded to spend every single dime. I agree with Princess, he should send in his entry form so he can get 10 million notices in the mail asking "how do you want your money" or "you're almost there, just fill out these forms, paste these stickers, order 20 magazines (even though a purchase is not required, yeah right) and mail today! So many people fooled. So few actual winners. Bite my behind Mr. McMahon!

Yes, he borrowed the money and it sounds like his wife wants to spend eveyr penny of EVERYBODY'S money and, at the risk of sounding sexist, which I am not (and I am a woman!), he needs to put a leash on her! But Merv Griffin's estate could probably bail out the whole country and still have change left over! And I still don't understand why we are supposed to bail the banks out!

44. I honestly believe that Merv would turn over in his grave IF he knew this. I do not think he would ever do this to as good a friend as they were. The company, Griffingroup, is trying to get blood out of a turnip. If this debt is this old, don't you think that IF Merv didn't sue him in all those years, why should that company do it? Some people just love to kick someone when thay are already down!
