So many tyrants started in their countries with radical platforms, like Hitler, Idi Amien, etc. For the most part, the citizens assumed it would not affect them. We have a person of doubtful scruples who is alleged to be associated with so many unsavory characters and you say we need someone who will not make Bush's mistakes again. Sure, we don't want another 8 years of Bush, but we certainly don't want and should have a healthy fear of Obama because of his many "friends" who are shady or outright radical, and traitors like Ayers and his wife. Personally, I con't believe anyone should vote for someone who refuses to let his college transcripts be released and who has Wright, Farrakan and others as friends until they become a political liability at which point he defends them and then dumps them and says they had very little influence on Obama. I am sure Palin has a few skeletons. As to Todd wanting to seceed ... I don't have an opinion because I have not seen it verified.

Back to skeletons ... Obama is so loaded with skeletons and bad choices of associates it scares me more than all the hype being made up about the Republicans. I am an independent but will certainly vote against Obama because I believe his conduct leads a reasonable person to fear what could be under his leadership.

216. I really don't feel good about all the evil people Barack hangs out with. When I heard those kids singing Obama songs I had to cringe. It felt and sounded really creepy. Are they brain washing those kids? Maybe. I keep trying to like and want to support Obama but my gut keeps telling me not to. After researching and giving it a lot of thought my Democratic butt is going to vote for McCain and Palin. I feel it is so refreshing to have someone that can make real people feel comfortable. Sorry for all of you who can't stand her. I am sure if she was a Democrat you would love her. McCain is not Bush so that does not worry me. I also feel that we are in such a tight budget crunch that the Democratic ticket would make it worse not better. Since we are at war and probably will be for awhile I have to vote for a War Hero.

218. I was raised in Alaska and now live in Virginia with my husband. PLEASE read about Palin and her shady dealings. She may be a pretty lady, but she's a hypocrite, corrupt and doesn't have the knowledge, expertise or know how to run a country. She was ALL FOR THE BRIDGE to nowhere. She visited my hometown where the bridge was supposed to be built (and thankfully was not - not ALL Alaskans wanted that project) she campaigned on building that bridge. Now she claims she "Stopped that bridge to nowhere" - no she didn't. SHe used her power to get people fired because she didn't like them personally. She isn't about "helping families" she reduced funding to our Kid care program which provided low income families with health care coverage for thier kids.

This election is going in the direction of the Obama/Biden Ticket - which is hopful news.

Additionally, I find it very unamerican to question a candidates patriotism because his middle name isn't of European decent. For many this race comes down to fear of skin color . So Sen. Obama's middle name happens to be the name of a known terrorist No one questions political figures named Timothy or McVeigh. Timothy McVeigh was a DOMESTIC terrorist and committed terrible atrocities. So if we use that Husssein logis shouldn't Timothys or McVeighs be questioned too? Umm...no. It wouldn't be rational becuse we KNOW his actions are TOTALLY unrelated and have no bearing on the charactr of those bearing the same name. Right? RIGHT!!!

Well you know what - this MIddle Class, White Alaskan Woman is voting for Barak Hussein Obama hands down.

• He fights for the middle class #1. That is you and I.

• The wealthy would pay more taxes (make 250 or more in a year) What is a few thousand to someone that makes that much? Pocket change!

• Better health care! We need it!!

• Better Fuel alternatives. Trying to stop global warming by using alternative energy.
Drilling off shore will not solve our problems (McCain and Pailin)! McCain and Palin don't believe in global warming.
Were are their heads? ...Money, money money!

• Safety! Keeping communication open even with enemies.
Keep your friends close but your enemies closer!

• WORLD PEACE! Or at least a safe place in the U.S. So we are NOT looked at as snob wanna be hero's. EVERYONE in the world HATES us! Why, because our president thinks we are winning the war and everyone wants us to come to there country and take over. NO ONE is winning.
People are dying! McCain wants to Fight, fight, fight!

Image really should not matter when it comes to choosing some one to lead the American people. I believe Obama will do what he says. McCain and Palin are saying things to win. Including lying about Obama's past. It shows they can't be trusted.

Beating up on the wealthy with higher taxes will not help the middle class. have you ever WORKED for a POOR person? Have you ever lost a job because the wealthy person you worked for was making too much money? Obama wants the government to be the only holders of WEALTH in this country, wealth and POWER!

"Better health care"..?? What's his plan then? Do you know it, understand it and you're clear on just how it's going to be better? Please enlighten us.

"Fuel alternatives"..?? Did you just chose to ignore the fact that McCain & Palin are promoting better "fuel alternatives" along with creating independence FROM foreign oil sources by drilling HERE? Did you know that global warming happened here on Earth before we had oil rigs and cars or pollution even? The Sun gets a little extra agitated every so often and heats things up a little bit. We always want to be conscientious of controlling pollution (and we are) but this thing about blaming global warming on Americans or Republican Presidents is pretty asinine. Deliberate...but still asinine.

"SAFETY"..?? Since Sept. 11th, we've been pretty safe here in the U.S. haven't we? Clinton made it easy for those attacks, by having our National Security folks basically DROP OUR DRAWERS to them. He was more worried about covering up his scandals than protecting the country from terrorist. What terrorism we did have back then, he passed off to local law enforcement. What is Obama going to do differently....go have tea and cookies with terrorist leaders and agree to back off our support of Israel if they leave US alone? Scary thought.

'WORLD PEACE"..?? God GOD lady...can he just take care of the U.S. before he becomes the messiah for the entire world? What credentials do you think he has to pull that major feat off with? Some religious fanatics in the Middle east HATE us for our religious beliefs and our support of Israel, and the only way that's ever going to change is if we drop our own beliefs, and turn our backs on Israel and try to appease the haters and concede to their demands. I like this country, and if we have to keep fighting to keep it the way we've all grown accustomed to it, then I think we should. We don't know anything different so it's hard to truly imagine anything else. If our freedoms aren't earning us any popularity points in the world.....WHO CARES?? They're ours to protect dumbass!

224. To all the xenophobes and racists with their "suspicions" of Obama. Where di he get the money to go to Columbia? Yeah, try student loans, grants and scholarships. Emphasis on the last one. See, Obama, unlike the McCains, and Bushes and yes Palins of hte world for all her Joe Six Pack crap, who depend on their white privilege and connections, actually applied himself and got good grades. Plus he's smart as heck. Hence, his acceptance at the two finest schools in the country. He graduated at the top of his class at both shcools, unlike McCain who graduated 894 out of 899 and Bush who was a C student on a good day, or Palin who took six years at six mediocre schools to eke out a BA.

Again, how did he "afford" a trip to the middle east? Oh, it MUST have been because he was funded by terrorists. How about he worked a job like so many others--he worked in New York at some news gathering organization for a couple of years before he moved to Chicago. God forbid a young person has a desire to travel and see the world. ANd don't forget, his grandparents who had a large hand in raising him are solidly middle class. Maybe they treated him to a trip to reward his hard work at school. I mean, plenty of white middle class parents do that, right? But no, the racists see this as evidence of some "dark" plot, emphasis on "dark."

As for the comment "why did he move to Chicago when he already lived in New York"? HAHAHAHAHA
