602. 591. To poster #560...
Do not use my name. You are more than welcome to copy my posts and change some words, but please have the decency to sign it with your own name.
You conservatives are so full of vitriol and bile...and apparently lack any integrity whatsoever. At least have the cojones to stand by your own words.
Sick, sick people.

My use of the term was strictly literary. I don’t know what “the problem” is supposed to be. To me it is tomato/potato. Feel free to call your friends whatever they have asked you to call them. I usually refer to mine by the names their parents gave them.
I have stated my disagreement with ANA and you have stated yours with me. We don’t have to agree.
Thank you. My day has been fabulous, but since I think this game is in the bag (Yeah Philly), I am going out with friends now and will be unable to continue our discussion until later.
I'll post under a new name. I don't want to offend ;)

606. No other comment needed. Repubs work for a living, Dems want the govt. to take care of them. Isn't that the difference? Europe is imploding economically with all the welfare they've got going.

607. Obama wants socialism. Is he really going to create jobs? How can he? He hardly voted in the Senate. He is scary--that's why we don't want him.
Posted at 7:47PM on Oct 10th 2008 by disgusted with aol, the networks, etc.
608. First of all, none of the women on The View represent my view or probably many people's view. I hope most people can behave better than all of them do.
Second of all, I'm a registered republican. I will not be voting my party this time. I don't believe Obama is a terrorist and I do believe he has been addressing the very concerns I have been trying to get my representatives, my congressman, and our senators to address. Thus far they have not done much. All efforts and money (that we don't even have) have been sent to Iraq while US jobs have been going overseas in a steady stream due to downsizing, outsourcing and RIFs. We have a credit, banking and housing crisis that was utterly avoidable. We have CEOs making millions of dollars while they get tax incentives and cut US jobs, have half million dollar parties and get government money to bail out their bad loans. They think they are entitled to huge bonuses while everyone else is taking salary cuts, losing their jobs and having to take 20-50% pay cuts to replace the job they lost. The past four years we have been seeing signs that the economy was NOT doing well, but the current administration ignored them all, as though denying the problem would make it disappear. Why haven't we been developing solar, wind and other alternative energy sources? The Bush family is in oil, that's why! This is all about oil, greed and power. Mostly what I hear from Obama is what he wants to achieve and where he wants to concentrate his efforts. What I hear most from McCain/Palin (and I seem to hear more from her than from McCain) is one attack after another on Obama's character, even when the facts don't support her exaggerated accusations. *Ms. Palin* does not see the US the way *I* do. For what it's worth, I'm an educated white woman and I could not care less what color any of the candidates are. I want a US with a strong economy, companies that invest in research and development of all kinds of technology and open up new frontiers for our future. I think we have a better chance with Obama than with McCain. He seems utterly bewildered to me.
Posted at 9:42PM on Oct 10th 2008 by Good grief!
609. I think the problem is that too many people are under the impression that these folks that have destroyed our economy....are all REPUBLICANS?? Do the research as much as possible, and get the FACTS on just who these people are and what political leanings and positions they hold. You'll be surprised if you're in the above (uninformed) category.
I do KNOW that 8 years of all the BUSH hate and BUSH bashing that comes from the Liberal media and Hollywood, have taken it's toll on the psyche of most Americans and even I'm sick of it, and even I feel let down by the current administration...but for other issues not addressed or handled properly (IMO) by them. You hate to concede to that, because if it's really WORKED....it will just continue on, if McCain/Palin should win this election, and that's a depressing thought.
If Obama wins....I feel that even in spite of increasing troubles ahead and shady dealings within the White House, the people that pound info into our brains 24/7 as to WHAT and HOW to think about us, the government, and the WORLD, will suddenly paint a rosy glossy picture of it...FOR US, and all will be (falsely) peachy-keen again?
That's a disturbing reality and a testimony to the power of the press. The ratio of Liberal views against Conservative ones on the VIEW (4 to 1) are pretty much the same in all the media and even worse in Hollywood. Yet you see all the hate spewed towards the FEW that do represent the Right. Which is more bold....being like Elisabeth and being the sole voice of the Right amongst an outnumbering slew of hate mongers from the left, or just hangin' with like minded folks and spewing the same hate in harmony, unabated by opposing rationale?
You might hate Elisabeth for being that oNE voice...but you gotta give her credit for even being there. TOUGH JOB ain't it? Imagine going to work everyday where you're opinions are hated and mocked? I wouldn't do it.
To GOOD GRIEF's post up above there...
I understand where you're coming from, but I think you've caved and just want it to STOP! In this case, I think you almost DO have to "shot the messenger"...the message has been a LIE ever since Al Gore had to concede to defeat and REAL LIFE drama's of the world and economic difficulties of our country have only added viable issues to bolster the negative hype.

610. To Mr. A, regarding the liberal media. I'm not liberal or conservative -- there's a common sense middle ground that needs to be met. The media is not liberal. The media is owned by corporations and if it had been in their interest to do so, they would have blown the lid off the economic crisis much, much sooner. Long have I been seeing on the news how great the economy is while in every day observation I've been watching business after business close in my town where we have a very diverse economic base. I know very few people who have not been laid off, RIFfed, or have watched their insurance skyrocket while their benefits decreased. The economic indicators did not take into account the cost of FOOD, for goodness sake. Now the media has a scape goat and it is the current administration. The problem is, they have a lot of very, very valid points. Mr. A, I have not caved. I may be a registered republican, but I vote my conscience. I wanted very badly to vote for a democratic candidate in 2004, but believed (and still do) that John Edwards was less presidential material than George W. Bush. I don't think Mr. Bush is a bad man, but he has not been an effective president and I don't believe Mr. McCain will fare much better.

611. someone should smack that fat-a** b**ch along side her head! I'm tired of those old bats ganging up on Elizabeth just because she has the guts to stand up for her beliefs! I'm also tired of certain pukes engaging in blatant censorship! Republicans are not responsible for the economy you babbling half-wits! Read the following if you dare! A New York Times article from Sept. 1999 states that Fannie Mae had been under increasing pressure from the Clinton administration to expand mortgage loans among low- and moderate-income people and that the corporation loosened its lending requirements to comply.
When Greg Mankiw, chairman of President Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers, voiced a warning about weakened underwriting standards, he was rebuffed by Congress..
The Wall Street Journal quoted Congressman Barney Frank, D-Mass., in 2003 as criticizing Greg Mankiw “because he is worried about the tiny little matter of safety and soundness rather than ‘concern about housing.’”
Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, rejected a Bush administration and Congressional Republican plan for regulating the mortgage industry in 2003, saying, “These two entities – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis.” According to a New York Times article, Frank added, “The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”
So all of you idiots who think that a Democrat will fix the problem with the economy when a Democrat was responsible in the FIRST PLACE, is just plain insane! Yes, the Republicans should have ignored the effing Democrats and started investigating this mess years ago but to say they are solely responsible is just plain irresponsible! And note that the source being quoted in this article is none other than the loony liberals precious NY TIMES! LOL!!

612. Good job Franny, you tell 'em!.
Good grief,I can agree with you on some of the things you are saying, but why would any one with common sense vote for a democrat? They are the problem not the solution! you need to understand that for over two years barney frank and chris dodd have been telling Americans that fannie mae and freddie mac are ok! both of them along with obama have received thousands of dollars in political contributions from freddie and fannie! You have to ask yourself why? You sound intelligent, you know why!

613. Good grief~
The media BIAS is (and always has been) mostly Liberal. You're seriously confused or just not very astute if you truly think otherwise. These "corporations" you speak of are not all Conservative minded or based. Check the owners of the mainstream media outlets and you'll discover they're all quite Liberal. Trash Hollywood rags most definitely are owned by Liberals.
You've been brainwashed into thinking every time you hear or read the word "CORPORATION" it automatically means BIG, GREEDY REPUBLICANS. Same with the word WEALTH, seems to only be applied to WHITE RACIST CONSERVATIVES.
Just for some clarification here, I had family and friends being laid off from work or fired and even downsized when Clinton was President. Health care rising costs were a concern even then as it ALWAYS is during an election year. It's ALWAYS the economy, health care and retirement funds and of course national security. What election has EVER not had those issues and concerns be the issues of debate? Same with the abortion issue. Always something we just have to KNOW where the candidate stands on it, but since when has it ever changed anything? BUSH was blasted for all his RELIGIOUS beliefs and position against abortion, yet what changed in his 8 years regarding either? Religion hasn't been crammed down the countries throats anymore so and abortions still continue.
You have caved Good grief..because you're willing to vote for Obama just to get the powers that be (the biased liberal media) to stop the hate and bashing. If you believe what they tell you, then it won't be long before they start blowing their liberal agenda (smoke) up our a$$es and painting that bright rosy colored outlook for us under the guidance of their new MESSIAH Obama. It won't be anymore a reality than what they spew out NOW against Bush and then against McCain and Palin as possible President and VP, but it will be more pleasant and we're ALL desperate for something more pleasant whether truthful or not.

614. As someone observing the US election, (and neither a Republican or a Democrat) I must say that Elizabeth Hasselbecks unquestioning defense of ANYTHING Republican makes me think of her as THE REPUBLICAN STEPFORD WIFE. How can you take anything she says seriously when she blindly supports EVERYTHING Republican? You can't have an intelligent conversation or discussion on the issues, when there is one person (Elizabeth) who refuses to admit to anything negative about her party? What happens in this electiion will undoubtedly afftect my country also. I just hope that whoever the American people choose to elect - they do it because they feet he's the BEST man for the job - and not elect someone just because of the name of his political party. The world is watching.

615. I never thought of it until now, but Elisabeth has the perfect last name for dealing with those other Liberal asinine mouthpieces on the show. Those Libs giver her a bunch of HASSEL...and she just gives'em HASSEL BACK!
LOL! okay, okay...it's Beck, but just sayin'!
