Nolte's House Burns

Nick Nolte's house caught fire today and he suffered injuries.

The call to L.A. County Fire came in today at 11:34 AM. When firefighters arrived, the Malibu house was burning and Nolte was trying to put the blaze out himself. We're told the fire started in his office -- some sort of electrical malfunction. Nolte's kitchen and living room also suffered minor damage.

Nolte suffered smoke inhalation and abrasions. He was treated on the scene and plans to see his doctor today.

As for the house -- there's about $500,000 in content damage, and approximately $3 million damage to the structure.

17. Nobody cares about this GD drunk! He's drunk in public all the time...11:30 am he must have been plastered! And it wouldn't shock me if this GD fool DID burn his own house down. He was so drunk, he forgot the dog! He is broke as a joke and pathetic. Terrible actor, too! Hope he gets busted and goes to jail for this stunt!

22. I don't think he's hurting too bad if there was a million $$ in damage...sucks though--I had a house fire once, and you can NEVER get that burnt smoky smell out of the house. I had to change cardboard boxes. I had that box for years... and my dog was okay too!! : )

23. Hang in there Nick. I cant believe the comment about insurance. Nick has worked steady in supporting roles for the past 10 years. He is far from being a has been.. I would like to see him win an oscar. It would be long over due... I know he won an emmy for his role in Rich Man Poor Man. Both he and Peter Strauss deserved it.
Nick, I still remember seeing you at the grocery store and thought how good looking you still are for your age...Glad you were ok and the other residents.

24. I love how some of you idiots come up with scenarios and other lame ideas about how this fire started. Maybe it was just an electrical problem? It's pathetic how some of the dummies on this site try to come up with something other than the truth. You may not like him or his acting abilities, but he is going through something that could have been a lot worse. And so what if he likes to drink and party. Millions of other people do too. I guess some of you are either too petty or unfeeling to think that this could have been what it was. An accident. He has plenty of money and loves his dog and his personal belongings. I doubt very much that he started a fire that could have destroyed everything he's worked for and loves.

28. it said it started in his office and there was minor damage to his kitchen and living room....well holy crap, 500,000 in contents and another 3,000,000.00 in structural damage is a major fire regardless how nice a home it was. Been doing this job for 20+ years and no fire with 3.5 million in damages was minor damage..... it had to do some major deep burning to get those kind of numbers....

29. am still trying to figure out how a fire in basically just the office of his house could do 3 million dollars worth of structual damage. Thats got to be wrong.

30. Hi Nick Nolte, So sorry about the fire at your home. Iam a seashell artist and you had purchased one of my pieces from Dave at "O****" in Malibu. If that piece was damaged you can bring it back to the store and I will do any repairs needed. If it is a unsalvagable condition.....I do have tables that would replace it, at absolutly no charge or strings attached... I truly got a kick out of knowing you had one of my pieces in your home. Dave has all my contact onfo. Peace to you and your family. Debbi
