Dogfighting and Kids Meals? Vick's Lovin' It!

10/9/2008 2:49 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Forget the Hamburglar! McDonald's is promoting its products using an actual convicted felon -- Michael Vick.
McDonalds
A TMZ employee went into a McD's in Hollywood yesterday and ordered a Happy Meal (don't ask). The box she received (pictured above) advertises six different electronic sports games, each of them named after a famous athlete. But Michael Vick is the only one of those athletes who is currently in federal prison.

The advertising was part of a cross-promotion with ESPN from 2004 -- back when Vick was just an overrated football player, instead of a dog murderer. Considering the Happy Meal is specifically targeted to young kids, you'd think Mickey D's would be more diligent about removing the name of a convicted dogfighter off the packaging.

We've contacted McDonald's for comment and they say they're getting back to us. This should be good.

UPDATE: We asked PETA what they thought about the whole thing. PETA's vice president, Bruce Friedrich, told us, "Given that McDonald's lets its suppliers cram animals into metal cages and crates and boil chickens alive, it's sad, but doesn't shock us, and at this point, even Michael Vick himself would probably rather that this particular Happy Meal would be a happy memory."

#1 Leroy? LMBO!! What Vick did to those dogs is disgusting and no we'll never forget that he did that. It will haunt him for the rest of his life. Why would anyone compare it to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction? Two very different things. McDonalds sucks anyway.

Do you seriously think they did this on purpose? I mean Vince Carter is on there and HE DOESN'T EVEN PLAY FOR THE RAPTORS ANYMORE! Get a clue and a grip. I know that you like to slander and try to bring him down even lower every chance you get. I notice that there is nothing on here constantly about any other dog fighters or dog murderer's! And trust Mike was and is NOT "overrated". He is one of the best players to ever grace the face of the earth obviously, that is why you take the time to constantly mention everything that is going on with him! I still LOVE you Mike and it will be alright! I got you! But again I have to thank you because I havent seen a pic of him in a while and he is so so so fine!

once again here we are kicking a man when he is down. I find it funny that we don't talk about the cruelty of horse racing which is an exceptable sport because the rich watch it. Once the horse is gets hurt it is made into glue and other products like dog and cat food. Or how about the rodeo. Bulls have ropes ited aroung their privates to make them angry while a cowboy rides on the bull's back. Seems pretty heartless to me. Can it be that Mr. Vick is rich and famous? I don't condon what the man has done. But, let's be fair in what is exceptable when dealing with animals. Let us ban all sports that deals with animals period!!!!

Ok...I posted this yesterday, what happened? Who deleted it? Anyway, my post was:
Is it just me or does Michael Vick look like Spike from Gremlins? Don't feed him hamburgers after midnight!

Why is TMZ even eating at McDonald's? It's hypocritcal to bash McDonald's and Michael Vick while supporting a chain that causes the abuse and suffering of millions of animals a year. Practice what you preach TMZ. Boycott McDonald's and go vegetarian!
