The 47-year-old resurfaced at a sports benefit in NYC last month, looking like a knockout.
In 1983, South Korean boxer Duk Koo Kim suffered brain injuries after a 14-round fight with Mancini. Kim died five days later. In the months that followed, both Kim's mother and the referee of the fight committed suicide.
Today, Mancini owns a cigar company and two film production companies.

Great to hear about BoomBoom. I remember him when he was starting out in Youngstown, Ohio. Nice guy, and comes from a great family. Best of everything to you, Ray.
After this fight, Mancini gave over his entire winnings to the family due to his remorse. It was also because of THIS fight that rules in boxing changed and the rounds went from 15 to 12 for title fights... His father was a helluva fighter too...
ray mancini, a hometown boy from youngstown ohio ... same as our current middleweight champion, kelly pavlik. watch kelly defend his belt on ppv next saturday!
hey, our city is on the highest murder per capita list ... THIS IS ALL WE GOTZ
Ken & 100% Me......Lord oh Lord, where do I start??
Well, let's start with ignorance and accusations of a 5th grade education, shall we???
First, since when did homosexuality become a race of origin? Homophobia and racist...two separate issues. I don't think pncmsing was making any cracks in a racist manner.
On a personal note, Ken, I could care less whether you want to do Boom Boom or not, or even if you care to express it.
And, pncmsing, I don't think Boom Boom needs you to protect his honor and manhood. I am sure he's confident enough in himself to not get up in arms over Ken's "compliment" as he claims.
100% Me, just some friendly advice:
Before you go defending Ken or anyone else by claiming the offending party is ignorant and uneducated, make sure you're not an idiot yourself and prove it further in your posts. Hint: get out your dictionary and look up the word "waist" and "waste". While you're at it, look up the word Homonym, I'm sure this was covered during Elementary School.
