H.M.A.S.P. -- Hockey Moms Against Sarah Palin

It probably sounded like a safe bet at the time: Self-pronounced hockey mom Sarah Palin dropping the puck amongst peers at a Philadelphia Flyers game. Her campaign manager should've been more informed about Philly fans.
Sarah Palin
Just for knowin's sake, Philadelphia fans are legendary for being the most brutal in all of sports -- they once booed Santa Claus during an Eagles half-time show. But cut to last night when Sarah skated into the Flyers' stadium to drop the ceremonial puck -- only to be greeted by a split of boos and cheers.

Politics really brings the best out in people.

136. The first time I read this quote, I thought it was dangerously true. Then I really started pondering it and thought how would this apply to our own lives/careers? Let's look at it again to see how absurd it is.

• You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
• You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
• You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

• 'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate.
• That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
• After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander-In-Chief, Leader of the Free World , and fill the shoes of Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan. 143 days!

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start. Strangely, a large sector of the American public seems to feel comfortable with this and are campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are OK with this for the President of the United States of America. How does that happen??? Come on, folks, we're not voting for the next American Idol.

137. "I am in my early forties, I've been governor of a state for less than two years, I have six kids, I like to hunt big game
and I am running for the office of Vice President of the USA. Who am I?"

Answer below...

Teddy Roosevelt - Election of 1900. And my face is carved on Mount Rushmore, too.

142. LMAO!!!

In some peoples (racist) minds...I'm ALREADY a "cracker" but by God if they're going to make one out of me, I can only hope to shout some LIBERAL chokes on me!

We must be about the same age (not young..not old) if we're throwing out Logan's Run and Soylent Green analogies?? LOL!

The BEST analogy for what the country is going to be like under OBAMA's new SOCIALIST regime...is ANIMAL FARM, and you just watch here M.A.F. that one will fly right over the libs head and I'll be accused of calling Obama an "animal".

Posted at 6:06PM on Oct 13th 2008 by Mr. A

Holy moly I forgot about Animal Farm! Fantastic analogy! I am considering spending this weekend starting my safety bunker in my basement w/plenty of canned foods, bottled water, guns and ammo in preparation for the end times a/k/a November 4, 2008. I'll for sure need the gun while I'm clinging to religion. We don't want BO in the Whitehouse!! Time to turn up the old school whupass on the Libs/Dems!

BTW Mr. A: I am not old at all.....I just graduated from high school.......27 years ago-heehee. Thank God for those of us out there that remember the Carter years and gas lines...sheesh-BO is going to make all that look like a walk in the park.

144. Obama will turn on his white supporters the way his girlfriend Oprah turned on her white fans after the Palin snub

145. And did anyone notice the flags behind Obama during his latest appearances? Is that the flag he'll have us saluting after all?

146. I am from Philly too Big Deal ! The only time you really hear anything about the Flyers is when something like this happens.Other than that the only sports teams that are on the news are the Eagles or Phillies. Get over it it's not like she went to a Phillies or Eagles Game.I think at the next Obama event in Philly they should throw beer , pretzels and cheese steaks ! Along with the boo's and derogatory comments it should make for a hell of a time !

I am voting for Sarah Palin because SHE id the closest thing we will ever see to the common person in office !!!!!!

147. I love to hear the Republicans rant and rave.

Its so nice to be in the shoes of the winners this time. Sorry. Now uuuuzzzz guys will feel the pain we felt when we knew Bush was going to run this country into the ground. I'm amazed how your folks defend your party. A BARN YARD ANIMAL COULD RUN THIS COUNTRY BETTER.

Palin is a joke. Plain and simple, even your own party members agree with that. John is old. His wife is a sript addict whom he met in a BAR!!! who has NEVER WORKED A REAL JOB in her whole Deb life! Clueless the both of them. Like they can relate to the problems in this country. How many house between them again? How much cash?

My faorite thing about Republicans, they will vote for WHOEVER it is they throw out there, just to stay on the same team. A bunch of followers. Dare I say kind of like a .......cult?

Keep talkin' ya'll, its working! Wink wink.I guess ol'arah thought she could flirt her way into this one. Not this time red-necks. We're done with ya'll.

148. Im a Republican but I'm voting for Obama because the Palin pick of VP is an insulting, ridiiculous move. She is a major religious Freak and power abuser...talk about depraved.! And for those of you spouting BS about acorn. McCain was the keynote speaker for that group two years ago....ooops old McLame must have forgot. And troopergate --where the bipartisan commitee said Palin was unethical and immediately she goes out and says they found nothing wrong. Sick of idiots thinking Americans are idiots. As for the hockey game, Palin stated on Fox news before the game that she was bringing Piper along because people wouldn't boo at a kid. Way to use the kid as a human sheild......what a bunch of schmucks!!!

149. Palin, hockey mom, didnt skate into the ring.......real hockey moms would! :) Send the hick back to the sticks.....I think her church found some more witches to run out of town...or maybe the library has needs censored....

150. I'm voting Republican beacause I believe White people are superior and all the laws of this country should keep it that way.

I'm voting Republican beacause Big Oil companies are the best friends America has ever had, and we owe it to them to give them massive profits with no accountability, and because there is an endless supply of fossil fuels that never pollute the air for future generations.

I'm voting Republican beacause I believe that America's beautiful beaches and coastlines are a thing of the past, and just because I enjoyed their beauty doesn't mean future generations have to, so screw it; make it all look hideous and kill the fish and wildlife all around the rigs for miles cuz who needs clean water anyway. No one goes to a beach anymore.

I'm voting Republican beacause who needs all those tax-and-spend programs like national defense, national parks, preventing elderly Americans who have worked their whole lives from starving and living in squalor anyway, and health and safety enforcement. I'd rather spend my money on beer.

I'm voting Republican beacause sending Americans' hard-earned tax money to Iraq so that big oil companies can have access to nearly unlimited oil profits is the number one priority for the average American family. Who cares if all those 19 year olds die there for it; they were probably stupid anyway.

I'm voting Republican beacause who cares if the planet's environment is ruined; I won't be here to see it so it's no skin off my back. I'm driving my SUV and to hell with all of you; you aren't going to tell me what to do. None of my ancestors left a decent planet behind for me. LIve for today and stop whining.

I'm voting Republican beacause I believe rich women should have access to all the safe but illegal abortions they want if they can pay for them, but poor women can die in back-alley butchering like they did before Roe v. Wade passed. Screw 'em; the bitches deserve to die. Unlimited unwanted births can only help the school systems and health care system anyway.

I'm voting Republican beacause I believe the United States is better than most countries in Europe which banned the death penalty decades ago; we should be more like our middle eastern enemies who hang teenagers for being gay and kill people for writing books and drawing cartoons we don't like. I say fry 'em up, who cares; that's what Jesus would want us to do.

I'm voting Republican beacause I believe that businesses are more important than people, and should be able to discriminate, treat their workers however they want, allow unsafe and unhealthy working conditions, expose them to toxic chemicals, and have no accountability because it's BUSINESS is what matters in this country, not its friggin PEOPLE.

I'm voting Republican beacause the more people who have guns, the more children can be accidentally killed by them and who needs more kids around here anyway, and the more cops can be killed, so yay more doughnuts for me.

I'm voting Republican beacause even though repeated research shows home guns are far more likely to kill a member of my family than to protect a member of my family from intruders, who cares about statistics I was never good at book-learnin' anyway.

I'm voting Republican beacause big oil companies deserve all the money they get, especially out of my wallet. The government who provides vital services for the people of the country doesn't deserve squat from my wallet.

I'm voting Republican beacause I believe that straight people are inherently superior to gay people, and our Constitution and state constitutions should reflect that. We're just better, that's all. It's more important that illegal immigrants can get married to get citizenship and Britney Spears can get drunk and get married in Vegas for 24 hours, but same-sex couples who have been together for decades don't. After all, we're just better. This "equality" stuff and "all men are created equal" is a lot of outdated hooey from those idiots in wigs in Philadelphia in 1776.

I'm voting Republican beacause while I believe in exploiting illegal immigrants with dirty, hard, unsafe, cheap labor, I don't believe in giving them any advantages of living here. After all, other people in the world are meant to SERVE Americans. We're the superior ones.

I'm voting Republican beacause marriage is a special right for straight people because we deserve special rights because all straight people are just superior to anyone else.

...Makes ya wonder why anyone would ever vote Democratic, doesn't it?
