"Desperate Housewives" in Critical Condition

We've learned Gale Harold, the actor who plays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on "Desperate Housewives," was seriously injured yesterday in a motorcycle accident. And, contrary to what Harold's rep says, a hospital spokesperson just told us the actor is in "critical condition."
Gale Harold
He's being treated at the L.A. County - USC Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. We're told his shoulder was screwed up. Harold's rep just issued a statement saying his shoulder was fractured and he's in "stable condition," despite what the hospital rep said. And the slightly ominous words from his rep -- "Everyone is hopeful for a full recovery."

"D.H." creator Marc Cherry says Harold has swelling of the brain but is expected to recover.

BTW, Harold also starred in "Queer as Folk."

63. Why is everyone so worried about one comment by Tardo. It was heartless, we all get it. Just getting sick of seeing all of the posts revolve around that. Move on.

64. Tardo you've posted the most ignorant comment i've read here in a long time. Either you can't afford a motorcycle or you just can't ride. While there are some riders that give the safe riders a bad image, a lot of the motorcycle accidents are caused by careless drivers of cars and trucks.Have you ever wondered why a motorcycle is always speeding by you? It's becasue we riders don't like being behind vehicles which throw debris back on us and also we like to be out in front of the accident that is waiting to happen while you are stuffing your face or trying to read while you are supposed to be paying attention to the road. In closing Retardo, before you start posting ignorant comments try thinking first.

65. Mike's cuter anyway. I love the idea of Susan and Mike getting back together. This new kid is too "kid" to be interesting.

68. I hope he DOES make a full recovery. He is one of my favorite TV actors & I just got caught up with 6 of the newest DH episodes this past weekend because of him being on the show. Sad. Get well soon Gale!

69. Motorcycles are dangerous, even when ridden carefully. They are essentially invisible unless you are programmed to notice that there are smaller things than cars that occupy space on the road, which most of us aren't. I used to work in a hospital and motorcycle injuries are much more prevelent than their numbers would justify. And, the in car that hit the motorcycle, there are minor injuries, but the motorcyclist has permanent brain damage, helmet or no helmet. I guess there will always be people who enjoy danger, and motorcycles should give them their minimum daily requirement with no trouble at all.

70. To make him better I would kiss every inch of his body and it doesn't matter where I start.

71. Does this mean he is off the show? I hope so because his character SUCKS! Don't get me wrong, I hope he is okay in real life. I just want his character off the show LOL

72. Wow, a bike accident! Bummer! Hopefully, he'll learn from it. My issue is the use of the word "star" in the article headline. Congratulations for landing a nice part in a popular show, but sorry, there's 5 Stars in DH and they're all women. He's got a character role and while nice, is extremely replaceable. One twitch of the word processor and he's history, just a bump in the script. And Susan gets to look for another guy, or do what she really needs to do and get back with Mike.

73. Thank you "Do The Math". If everyone was as considerate of motorcycles as yourself we would have less accidents.

74. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery Gale Harold! What a superb person and wonderful actor he is. I've been a fan since QAF and have enjoyed his many movies and tv appearances along the way. The main reason I'm even watching DH this season is because of him...okay, he's the only reason I'm watching...lol! It's a tragedy when any accident happens to anyone. I wish him and his family the best right now!!

75. I don't particularly care for his character on the show but hope he makes a full recovery. As for the comments on motorcycles, its ok to have an opinion just dcn't come across so ignorant (tardo). I live in NH where we don't have to wear helmets but I choose to as well as most of my 19 year old son's friends do to. My son and I even took the motorcycle safety course before hitting the streets. I do agree, that drivers of cars need to be more alert of others on the road, which they typically are not, not just motorcycles, but bikes, runners, etc. Heck, I got hit twice while out running, in both instances someone was on a cell phone and not paying attention. Just be aware, be less preoccupied and slow down.
