"Desperate Housewives" in Critical Condition

We've learned Gale Harold, the actor who plays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on "Desperate Housewives," was seriously injured yesterday in a motorcycle accident. And, contrary to what Harold's rep says, a hospital spokesperson just told us the actor is in "critical condition."
Gale Harold
He's being treated at the L.A. County - USC Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. We're told his shoulder was screwed up. Harold's rep just issued a statement saying his shoulder was fractured and he's in "stable condition," despite what the hospital rep said. And the slightly ominous words from his rep -- "Everyone is hopeful for a full recovery."

"D.H." creator Marc Cherry says Harold has swelling of the brain but is expected to recover.

BTW, Harold also starred in "Queer as Folk."

76. So sad that everyone is forgetting what the real focus should be here. Everyone is focused on that retard's post or the fact Gale's character on DH may be taken off the show. The real focus here should be Gale. He's a very talented, amazing actor that is highly under-rated IMO, but he's also a human with a family. As a fan and a human I truly hope Gale is ok and that he gets better soon. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family in this surely difficult time.

77. My God! When my sister told me this, I was shocked. I really, really hope he recovers! Yes, I saw him first on Queer as Folk but then I've followed him through up until Desperate Housewives. He was my saviour in a manner of speaking cause when I began to watch QAF, I was very depressed and thanks to his marvelous performance, I was able to gather up some courage and stand up to life. I owe him more than he will ever know and I am really praying for his swift recovery!

And, btw, of course tardo is an ass. Calling him retarded in an insult he doesn't deserve. It's too good for him.

79. If I lived in a rural area I would love a motorcycle. But in towns and big cities I just won't take that much risk.

80. the fact is that statisticly there are more accidents in cars then there are with motorcycles. I agree with one of the previous posts that the majority of people in cars are so busy doing everything else but paying attention to the road. Every state should have a hands free law for cell phones. I guarantee it would reduce the number of accidents on the road. Like Mr. NH, I live in Florida where there is also a no helmet law. Any smart rider wears a helmet to protect their greatest asset; their brain. Obviously tardo is grossly lacking, Tardo, I lay money on the fact that you are most probably a twentysomething male moron. Good luck to you as clearly you need it.

81. tardo, you are a narrow minded individual, lacking even the smallest amount of empathy!

82. 3. That's what you get for being an idiot and riding a motorcycle. Helmet or not, it's not a good thing to do. Anyone in this day and age that rides a motorcycle deserves the injuries they receive.

Hey tardo, you are a RETARDO...

83. Hey TARDO... I suppose by your reasoning that if a person driving an economy car gets injured in an accident they also deserve what they get beacuse they aren't in a truck? Life involves risk, and I feel sorry for those who don't LIVE their lives because they're afraid of everything. Everyone dies, not everyone lives. Motorcycles aren't dangerous; it's the asses in cars on their cell phones, reading their newspapers, putting on makeup and using their laptops that are dangerous. To all of those posters that expressed an interest in riding, I say GO FOR IT. But do it the right way, and take a Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course. I love it and never plan to stop. And to Gale, I send good wishes for a speedy recovery, and see ya out on the superslab! Live to ride!

85. ANYONE who thinks that bikers are idiots are the idiots that HIT THE BIKERS. Bikes don't hit cars. CARS HIT BIKES you bunch of ... yeah ... FOOLS! Bikers know not to relax anytime they are around cars. They are aware that the cars do not see them. If they do not maintain this mentalality and let their gaurd down, then sure they will get hit by a car. Key words there ... get hit BY a car. I have been riding for over 35 years and sure I have come close to getting hit BY a car. But by staying alert and remembering that this guy or that guy (or girl or old lady or trucker) doesn't see you, I was able to take action and avoid any accidents. So you see all you people who drive cars and think that bikers are idiots ... think about how many accidents involve a biker hitting a biker and how many accidents involve a car hitting a car.

86. HEY TARDO, I HAVE BEEN RIDING SINCE 1961. I HAVE HAD 15 ACCIDENTS AND EVERY ONE WAS CAUSED BY A WOMAN DRIVER AND WAS AT LOW SPEED. YOU JUST HAVE TO TRAIN YOURSELF TO BE VERY WATCHFUL. I HAVEN'T HAD ANOTHER ACCIDENT SINCE 1991. I LEARNED NOT TO SPEED AND ZIP ACROSS LANES. KNOWING WHERE TO PLACE THE BIKE INSIDE THE LANE HELPED TOO. YOU JUST HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT PEOPLE DON'T SEE YOU. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER AND IN THIS CASE IT'S THE POWER TO AVOID CALAMITY. THE HEAD OF THE POLICE BIKE DEPT. IN PORTLAND, OREGON ONCE SAID, "THERE'S TWO KINDS OF BIKERS: THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN DOWN, AND THOSE THAT ARE GOING DOWN." THE HELL'S ANGELS MOTTO IS "RIDE FAST, DIE HARD". KNOWING THAT THESE PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS SHOULD TELL THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHAT NOT TO DO. HAVE A NICE DAY.

87. To tardo and all who are dogging motorcycles, get real. I ride and love it. Just because there are idiots out there like you means I shouldn't do what I love and if I get hit I deserve it? That mentality is exactly motorcyclist get hit. How about the old man in Ca. that hit his accelerator and ran into that crowd of people, well does that mean you shouldn't walk around? Get real

89. Sorry to hear about his injury.the article mentions that he has swelling around the brain. That is very serious and can lead to permanent and severe brain damage. The shoulder injury is insignificant by comparison.

90. Re: tardo, you should put re in front of tardo, the way you talk about motorcycle riders is uncalled for, my son rides a harley and belongs to a riding group and you couldn't ask for a safer group.I think you owe all riders an apology!!!!!!!!!!!!!
