"Desperate Housewives" in Critical Condition

We've learned Gale Harold, the actor who plays Teri Hatcher's boyfriend on "Desperate Housewives," was seriously injured yesterday in a motorcycle accident. And, contrary to what Harold's rep says, a hospital spokesperson just told us the actor is in "critical condition."

He's being treated at the L.A. County - USC Medical Center in the Intensive Care Unit. We're told his shoulder was screwed up. Harold's rep just issued a statement saying his shoulder was fractured and he's in "stable condition," despite what the hospital rep said. And the slightly ominous words from his rep -- "Everyone is hopeful for a full recovery."

"D.H." creator Marc Cherry says Harold has swelling of the brain but is expected to recover.

BTW, Harold also starred in "Queer as Folk."

121. It doesn't matter if you like him with Teri Hatcher's character, or if you don't like him on the show, or if you don't like him period. He is a HUMAN BEING!!!!!!!!!! Have some sympathy for him and his family as they go through this horrible time. He is a very talented actor and he has a family and friends who care deeply about him!! It's unbelievable to me how someone could care less if a person lives or dies because they don't like a character they PLAY ON TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

122. Funny thing is the first thing that came to mind was "poor Gale" then a quick follow up of ""Brian" is on D.H. wow I have a reason to watch that stupid show now with my dad". I wish him a very speedy recovery & I am so glad to see him in a popular show once more. :)

125. I dont understand how some people can say "he deserves this" Quote from #3. That's what you get for being an idiot and riding a motorcycle. Helmet or not, it's not a good thing to do. Anyone in this day and age that rides a motorcycle deserves the injuries they receive.

126. I have LOVED watching Gale since 2000 on QaF,and felt sick when I read what happened to him. I'm a little relieved to hear he's expected to make a full recovery,after a couple weeks of rest.I pray that he'll be good as new. I'm really shocked to read some of the very cold hearted remarks that have been written. Just imagine this being someone you personally Love,and reading that Garbage!! Unbelievable. I am a huge fan, and look forward to seeing him in many more projects in the future! I am sending many good wishes and Love to him for a speedy recovery.

129. Do you people read what you write? Motorcycles are not bad and riding one is a FREEDOM, that we here in America can do. Pull your head out and be kind to people, it might have been some A hole in a car that HIT him.

131. That's too bad. :( Hope he makes a full recovery. I think he is a phenomenal actor. Loved him in QAF and know that he has done a lot of Indy work. This is his first "mainstream" role. Best wishes to Gale for a full recovery!

First I must say, riding a motorcycle is a freedom like driving a car - apparently those that believe there is something wrong with someone wanting to ride a motorcycle never have had the absolute pleasure of doing so. It is unbelievable and so much fun!! It's the car and truck drivers that are crazy 'causing the m/c driver to be cautious and aware at all times! And secondly, hopefully Susan will get back with Mike while the "new guy" recovers -- he is a complete DORK!!

Tardo, sorry, you're a moron! To say that someone deserves all the injuries they recieve is just a horrible thing to say! It's on the same page as saying that someone deserves to go to hell when they die, it's just bad karma.

135. I love Gale, he is such a good guy. Hope he's feeling better soon. Probably if he weren't on DH we would have never even heard about the accident. TMZ get us more details on the accident, where it was / etc. I wish him the best & yes he loves the bikes, but I hope he drives a car for everyday instead. Crazy LA drivers.
