B.J. to Palin: You Give My Music a Bad Name

Jon Bon Jovi just gave us a statement, bitterly complaining that Sarah Palin has been using the band's song during her rallies yesterday and today:

"We are surprised to hear that our song, "Who Says You Can't Go Home" was used by the McCain campaign at rallies yesterday and today. We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past twenty-five years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the defacto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities. Although we were not asked, we do not approve of their use of 'Home.'"

Jon Bon Jovi threw a dinner at his home for Obama -- $30,800 a plate. Bon Jovi is the latest to complain about McCain's campaign using songs. Heart, Foo Fighters, John Mellencamp and Jackson Browne have also griped.

18. As for Bonjovi complaining about his song "Home" being used at Palin's rally. They are not interested in you as an artist, they are interested in "the words" and what they mean. So your songs are made for Democrats only? John don't forget where you came from.....I think living on the Navesink has gotten you "water-logged"!

20. I am so sick of "artists" bitching when a song of theirs is used in a campaign. I am a fan of Bon Jovi......have been for a long time.....but enough already. Don't put your "art" out there if you don't want it used. Hear that, Bruce Springsteen? Geesh!!!!!

22. Jon is just mad because Sarah Palin is 100X's prettier than his homely looking wife. Jon's wife is the poster woman for Mom's who let their looks go! Even Sarah Palin has a Great Pair of Stylish Eyewear. Jon's wife looks like an old hag in her eye wear. Where's the money going Jon? Surely not to your wife.

25. I agree with posted 1:43pm Fed up. Let's look into the important issues and not what songs are being played. Maybe we should come up with lyrics about "Where in the world is Obama's birth certificate?"

28. I wish they would just shut the F*@K up already about their music being used by the McCain camp. At least someone wants to use it. Why? Beats me, but, isn't it available for public use with pay? JBJ is a washed up hairband throwback that should appreciate the royalties from it's use. If you don't want someone to use it, for whatever reason, don't put it out there for a price. I'm just glad that the one time I saw them in concert "in the 80's" my ticket was free.

29. I respect any artist who comes out and says "No, you cannot use my song." They wrote the songs for a reason, and for someone to use it for some agenda that they don't agree with, with or without permission is wrong.

McCain needs to stop using songs without the consent of the musicians and artists.
