B.J. to Palin: You Give My Music a Bad Name

Jon Bon Jovi just gave us a statement, bitterly complaining that Sarah Palin has been using the band's song during her rallies yesterday and today:

"We are surprised to hear that our song, "Who Says You Can't Go Home" was used by the McCain campaign at rallies yesterday and today. We wrote this song as a thank you to those who have supported us over the past twenty-five years. The song has since become a banner for our home state of New Jersey and the defacto theme song for our partnerships around the country to build homes and rebuild communities. Although we were not asked, we do not approve of their use of 'Home.'"

Jon Bon Jovi threw a dinner at his home for Obama -- $30,800 a plate. Bon Jovi is the latest to complain about McCain's campaign using songs. Heart, Foo Fighters, John Mellencamp and Jackson Browne have also griped.

316. It is not a matter of Jon Bon Jovi keeping his politics to himself. It is a point that it is ILLEGAL to use someones music for personal gain, without the express and written consent of the persons who own the rights to that song. In this case the owner is Bon Jovi. The McCain Palin camp should have asked for permission. Or are they above the LAW?

317. Maybe the gal from from SUGARLAND (who sings on that song with Jon Blowme) gave her consent for it's use? She's a country star and most of them are Republicans and not terrorist sympathizers.

yeah, I bet she said FINE..use it, and Blowme here needs new friends so he called up TMZ and whined a little.

318. I used to be a fan but after hearing your comments not to mention learning about the $30,000 plate dinner for someone who befriends a terrorist, attends a church for 20 years with a demon reverend who spews hatred of everyone who does not agree with his ideas, for playing a big part in the Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac conspiracy and gained millions from it. This man who wants everyone to spread the wealth around as long as you don't ask him to spread his wealth around. Your support of this candidate and let's not forget Ms. O who has never been proud of this country until 3 months ago, None of you have earned the right or respect to live and work in this country.

319. It's their right, and intelectual property, not to mention copyrighted...
It's hysterical that the failed republican sinking ship can't find one song from an artist that supports thier cause...
Useless, lying cheating bigotted thieves, these republicans... Nobody with any intellegance at all will support them!
I wouldn't want my art/life/work associated with these terrorists either!
I guess that's how it feels on the way down.... shouldn't have tried to make a career out of lying, stealing, cheating and killing!

320. Oh, and by the way... I hate Bon Jovi's music, but it't not the repuplicans to steal... like they think they can steal everything else including elections...
And... Losing an expensive plane and being captured in war does not make you a hero... it makes you a loser...
And... being incarcerated for 5 years does not make you qualified, or experienced, it makes you 5 years further out of touch...
The republican party is circling the drain... someone get me some drano! This slow death is taking too long!

321. Waah, waah, waah...give the whining music artists a pacfier. These are the same individuals who decry censorship, but let the 'wrong' people use their music and they show their true colors. I didn't think that one had to espouse a musical group's ideologies to be given permission to enjoy their music. What a bunch of hypocrites,

322. Sir, you are not so big that you can't alienate much of your fan base. The fine folks of Nashville would like you to stay in that hell hole Jersey toilet state, and keep the hell out of our town, which we love...i Love this town. Hey That should be the title to the next song you steal.
