From what Ryan's other kids have revealed, Redmond's childhood wasn't just "not the best" but rather was downright emotionally and physically abusive. Rich kids have fewer protections than others (the social workers are much less likely to intervene, and fewer people not on the payroll are witnesses). Plus Redmond has an unlucky genetic heritage which undoubtedly makes him more susceptible to addiction. Starting so young makes it much more difficult to stop. It's not that he has no responsibility for his actions as an adult - it's just that he has a much steeper hill to climb than most, Expect him to fall down a lot, if he manages to get started on the climb at all.
Money has never guaranteed happiness, and it often gets in the way. Much better to have at least one good parent and live in poverty than to have two bad parents and live in a mansion. Poverty doesn't cause drug addiction . Poor drug addicts just attract the attention of the police more often than rich drug addicts (for obvious reasons) and when rich addicts do get into legal trouble, they have plenty of money for bail and teams of lawyers . Many people grew up poor and never became drug addicts or alcoholics or murders or thieves or muggers etc. Poverty adds another stress and so might possibly increase the odds of abuse by a weak individual, but plenty of poor parents don't abuse their kids regardless.
I do not have sympathy for this guy, OR his parents. They are all drug users, and will reap what they sow. News flash people...God gave you a BRAIN to think with and make decisions that you know will or won't ruin your life. These people are luckier than most, they have the resources to get the help they need, and I happen to know for a fact that this guy has had several chances in rehabs and did nothing but cause trouble while he was there. He doesn't WANT help. All he wants to do is get high. Maybe it makes looking at that ugly puss in the mirror easier. Sooner or later, if he keeps doing what he's doing, he won't have to worry about that, or anything else ever again. RIP big Red.
This boy really does seem like a "lost soul"................my best wishes go out to he & his equally lost siblings. May they find peace & healing in their lives & one day be happy, healthy people. One thing is for sure, they need to "divorce" their rotten so-called father. Ryan O'neill is one toxic person. He's made a mess of his family & he is killing poor Farrah. Very sad indeed.
He is a product of the environment in which he was raised. Sure he maybe didn't have someone sticking the needle in his arm, but you who are judging him have not walked in his shoes. I too have seen where Griffin has revealed that this boy was terribly abused by his father. He has never had the kind of help he needs that can save him. Some of you sound so jealous, because he has money and he is a child of privilige, but let me tell you, there is nothing about this to be jealous about. His life has been a huge mess, thanks to Ryan. He has been on drugs so long his mental state is stuck at a very young age. He can't rationalize for himself because the drugs have controlled him for most of his young life. He is lucky he is even alive. Get help Redmond. Get away from your evil father, and stay away from the hard drugs. You deserve so much better! God bless!
JWoolman@2:37 made some really good points. One about child protection for the wealthy being almost nonexistent. This explains alot. Nobody should dare to judge this young man. He has been the victim of a lifetime of drug hell and abuse. He has never had any kind of normal. He has probably never experienced true happiness. His dad is abusive and rotten to the core and obviously Farrah allowed it. I hope the courts throw the book at Ryan and get this kid the help he desperately needs. This is truly sad. I wish him the best.

Ya know, it's not the best picture of him, but he's a cute boy and anyone who has to pick on him about looks obviously it shows what a total loser idiot you are and negates any credibility your opinion might have had. You sound so jealous. You should probably get a life and get a clue while you're at it. Creepy slimebags lilke you never make matters any better and it seems like that's your goal. So judgmental, you obviously have many skeletons in your own closet you should worry about.
I'm hoping Griffin speaks out on this again. TMZ??
