37. What in the world does Palin's appearance on SNL have to do with her abilities as a politician? Does she have anything to say about the current condition of our country and how she would resolve our problems? Who cares how she performs on SNL and her interaction with actor Baldwin. The reason our country is in so much trouble is because politicians spend their time on other matters not related to our country's well being. Palin should be learning more about ways to resolve our nation's problems instead of prancing around on a tv show making fun of her weaknesses on foreign policies. What a lackwit!

38. Get off Michelle Obama’s back UNLESS you are going to criticize Todd Palin for his lack of support for this country. I have been ashamed of the USA, too, and I’m white. What about our treatment of the Japanese? What about our treatment of the mentally ill? What about our treatment of Blacks? These GOVERNMENT SANCTIONED programs (internment camps, forced sterilization, deliberately infecting men with syphilis) were an abomination and make me ashamed of my country. There are numerous other times that America has acted as if it is the only country that matters – and don’t get me started on the actions of our government (in the name of America) under Bush–I cringe when I think of how arrogant this nation is at times. It is sort of like your parents or that weird uncle – you love them, but at times they embarrass you (if you are lucky) and other times they actually make you ashamed of their bad behavior (should they commit a crime, have an affair, cling to out-dated and racist ideas, etc.). Michelle Obama’s statement is understandable and even laudable to me. Criticism of this nation is NECESSARY to keep things in check. The USA is not right all the time and it is far from perfect – but that is no reflection on someone’s patriotism. If so, then I support Todd Palin being called and treated as a terrorist since he belongs to the AIP which advocates for the succession of Alaska from the USA. It will be pretty tough for Ms Palin to travel far and wide with her family if her husband is (rightfully according to the Republicans’ litmus test) on the terrorist watch list.

It's funny that you like to charge the libs with being entirely politically incorrect as a whole while making your points. Take a look at the individual for once.

We are NOT all just looking at color here! While I have an appreciation for the milestone, if it were John McCain with Obama's policies and ambitions for cleaning up the mess Bush made, then John McCain would have my vote. Unfortunately, McCain has only shed light to a few of his policies to spend his time trying to appeal to the radical right with ridiculous political stunts like Sarah Palin, dropping the campaign to "help" in Washington, and making a national spectacle of one of his voters at the debate..

You can cry all you like about Obama not being as patriotic as you are, but look at it from another view.. For some people the race in this race is a very big deal. This is our chance to be more, to be greater! Sure we are all proud of America, but we've beaten the 'old white guy for president' thing to death!

Don't be so ignorant, Mr. A. I highly doubt that all the educated senators, and members of the House are going to fight Obama, and I really don't think HE will be playing any race card as President. It's fears like yours that are holding this country back from becoming the power it could be.. and that is nothing you should be proud of!
