Barneys Window -- Anti-McCain?

There's one store potential First Lady Cindy McCain may want to think twice about before dropping any of her beer heir millions ... Barneys New York.

The high-end NYC department store's windows currently feature paintings of all the First Ladies of yore and include portraits of both Michelle Obama and Mrs. McCain. While all the works by artist Laurie Munn were made to the women's general likeness, Cindy's looks uniquely ghoulish.

So the question -- by putting the pics up, has Barneys not-so-subtly endorsed Barack Obama? We contacted the store -- a little defensive.

A rep said the the pics are an artist's interpretation. We pressed and mentioned it was Barneys decision to plaster the pics in its windows. The rep told us to go talk to the artist, adding, "We do not take any political stance."

16. Hey, Ron - I dunno what kind of backwoods family you grew up in, but when I threw a temper tantrum, my parents didn't give in just to shut me up, they swatted me on the behind and sent me to my room to think about what I did. Maybe your parents ought to have done the same.

And then, relevant to the post: I've done murals before and they're not easy...ESPECIALLY when you're trying to interpret an actual human being's face. I say that the artist just had a time limit and had to rush his work, leaving little time for design. So what? Kudos to the store for attempting bipartisanship.

18. Wow. I wish that people who make comments can at least put politics aside and be honest. The picture of Michelle Obama is very true to her likeness. Cindy McCain, however, I would have never guessed it was her. It doesn't look even remotely close to her likeness. If the picture wasn't right next to Michelle Obama I would not have known who she was supposed to be. It is so poorly done that I would think that it is done by two different 'artists'. Certainly not the quality I would expect Barney's could pay for. They are both beautiful women but those paintings definitely don't reflect that. I wouldn't expect Barney's to show a political stand but it looks to me that they just did by allowing those paintings, as they are, to be displayed.

19. Cindy McCain is a lovely human being inside and out. She is classy and sophisticated, charitable and walks the walk. Michelle Obama is jealous, envious, rude, and she gives Whoopi a run for her money in the ugly department.

20. Well atleast us black women don't have to nip,tuck, stab, inject, remove, replace, lift, and snap things to out bodies to look presentable.

Michelle dresses like a SLOB. No FIrst Lady would have dressed like her. Even clothes from thrift stores, you can dress well.
