Barneys Window -- Anti-McCain?

There's one store potential First Lady Cindy McCain may want to think twice about before dropping any of her beer heir millions ... Barneys New York.
Obama and McCain
The high-end NYC department store's windows currently feature paintings of all the First Ladies of yore and include portraits of both Michelle Obama and Mrs. McCain. While all the works by artist Laurie Munn were made to the women's general likeness, Cindy's looks uniquely ghoulish.

So the question -- by putting the pics up, has Barneys not-so-subtly endorsed Barack Obama? We contacted the store -- a little defensive.

A rep said the the pics are an artist's interpretation. We pressed and mentioned it was Barneys decision to plaster the pics in its windows. The rep told us to go talk to the artist, adding, "We do not take any political stance."

64. I am sure that the posters commenting that Obama being elected is the equivilant of the AntiChrist are WHITE. Hmph! Other than "the end of the world is coming" comments, can you be a little more specific as to why you all seem so OUTRAGED at the idea of a black man taking office? Your comments continue to state that you're not racists, yet I see nasty posts referring to Mrs. Obama as an Ape and I see the divisiveness of this election year and it really makes me sad. ARE YOU THAT AFRAID OF BLACKS and if you are, why do you think that is?

Do you think that there will be some sort of retribution for your actions toward us? Makes sense, if I'd enslaved an entire race and then continued to keep them down for hundreds of years and lived to see a man of said race run MY country, I'd be petrified too!

HAHAHAHAHA!

68. Doninique we are all WOMEN thats all that should matter. Yes it is wrong for any of us to make rude or racist comments. but you will have the few white, black and hispanic ect. who will lower them selfs to act in such a way. We should try to never let those people upset us. we shouldn't even give them the time of day. I really don't feel Jeezlouise meant anything racist. Keep your head up girl and lets stand above all this. You have your opinion others have theirs.

74. So as a Canadian, I'm curious, do Americans think your country is going to be able to heal itself from this racial disharmony once the election is over? It doesn’t matter who gets in, I can’t imagine how people are going to get over the deeds and words that have been said. I’ve never seen such abject hatred, vile language and ugliness; I’m shocked and very disappointed. I really hope you all can come together and rebuild your country, because unfortunately what you do does affect the rest of the world.
