Jennifer HudsonThe Cook County Medical Examiner told us Jennifer Hudson showed up to identify the bodies of her mother, Darnell, and brother Jason.

It's "standard operating procedure" for a family member to do this, but that doesn't mean it's easy.

UPDATE: William Balfour is now under the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Cops told us the IDOC have taken Balfour for breaking the terms of his parole.

The nature of the violations are unclear, but we're told that although Balfour is in the custody of the IDOC, the "homicide investigation is still active and ongoing."

Come on, Jennifer could have gotten her moms house pressure washed, remodeled, some grass cut or fence work...hell even if she did not wanna leave the hood....she aint half to leave her mother like that......she wasnt even decent enough to buy her moms a new Honda or something all i am saying is that a shame.......she left her moms bummin it up.....

49. But solay, if she tried and her mom refused, what was Jennifer supposed to do? She could not force her mother to move. And the people blaming her sister Julia, I can at least understand. If William did it, and it sure is a high possibility. Then Julia is somewhat responsible for bringing such an obviously dangerous person into the home of her mother and son. But Jennifer in no way has any responsibility at all for this.

50. TMZ, I'm hoping that while you are reporting on these events as they occur, you are also on the street asking questions and trying to help Ms. Hudson find her nephew as well. This is one of the most horrible things I have ever heard happen to anyone, let alone a celebrity. My heart and prayers go out to her and her family.

53. SOLAY: It is indeed possible to feel sympathy, empathy and compassion for strangers. Unless you happen to be a sociopath. Sociopaths routinely think that empathy, compassion, sympathy, and guilt felt by others is "fake" because they have no ability to experience these common human feelings. Glad I'm not your neighbor!

56. My condolences to the Hudson family. What I can't figure out is why Jennifer would ONLY make her public plea on MySpace. Rather than a national public announcement - to all major national media. As if the killer/kidnapper is on MySpace ???
