Chicago police have confirmed the body they found earlier in the day was in fact Julian King, Jennifer Hudson's 7-year-old nephew.

Cops say they are reviewing surveillance tapes in the neighborhood where the SUV was found.

Police also say they are zooming in on the timeline -- it's still unclear when the SUV showed up in the neighborhood with Julian's body.

Cops have not named anyone as an official suspect. They have called William Balfour "a person of interest." Our law enforcement sources, however, have said Balfour is indeed the prime suspect.

Police spokeswoman Monique Bond says the boy had been shot.

61. I can't even imagine what his mother and the family is going through right now I'm speechless I'm sure my pain for the family is nothing compared to what they're experiencing. It'll never be okay, its not okay for any family to experience such devastation I wouldn't wish this pain on my worse enemy!!

62. I can't believe that this has happened. Regardless of who his aunt is, how can anyone shoot a 7 year old child multiple times as they sit in the back seat of a car? WTF?!!! This world is so fu#$ed up! He didn't deserve it and there was nothing that he could do to stop it.

70. My thoughts and prayers are with all the Hudson family at this time. Keep the faith GOD is there with you during your troubling times. This is a very sad situation for all involved be strong. 74. This poor child. It takes a real coward to murder an innocent child. I can't begin to fathom the hell this boy went through in his final moments.

As for those of you who are saying that all convicted felons are 'thugs' you're wrong. This guy was, without a doubt, but not ALL felons are terrible people. My brother is a covicted felon, but not because of a violent crime. He's a good person, holding down two jobs, and helping out the rest of the family.

I am in no way defending the coward who did this to this family. Just setting something straight. Maybe the mother of this little boy tried to see the good in people. It's in NO way her fault. It's the fault of the person who was coward enough to have to pick on an innocent child like this. I personally believe there is a special place in hell for people like the one who committed this crime. I think he should be executed. I wish it could be a public execution, and that one of the remaining members of the family could do it. I know it wouldn't change things, but it might make the family feel better! I'm simply outraged that someone would feel like they had to take their anger out on an innocent child. I guess whomever did it feels like a big bad person right now. Either way, this person won't be alive too long. Convicts in prison despise child killers. They'll take care of the problem if that's what it takes.
