Julianne Hough -- Way More Than a Stomach Ache

Julianne HoughTMZ has learned Julianne Hough will announce tomorrow the ailment that sent her to the emergency room last week was more than a stomach ache -- it's an ovarian cyst.

We're told she will have surgery to remove the cyst and that she'll have her appendix taken out at the same time (unrelated to the cyst).

No word on when the surgery will take place or if Julianne will remain on the show this season.

UPDATE: Julianne's official site now says: "Julianne Hough, Mercury Nashville recording artist and two time 'Dancing with the Stars' champion has been diagnosed with Endometriosis and will be undergoing minor surgery to remove her appendix. Hough experienced mild stomach pains last week and was taken to Cedars Sinai medical center. After consulting with her doctor, this course of treatment was recommended. Hough will address the surgery on Monday night's 'Dancing with the Stars' where she'll perform with celebrity partner Cody Linley.

Endometriosis is the development of uterine-lining tissue outside the uterus on the surfaces of organs in the pelvis or abdomen where they are not supposed to grow. It is a common medical condition found in 5-10% of women of reproductive age around the world."

46. I have Endometriosis and I say it's about time a celebrity announced that she has it and shed some light on the subject. You can't understand that pain unless you've had it, it's all day everyday, so don't give her a hard time about not being able to dance! I can't even walk when my endo flares up. Hope her surgery goes well!

49. If you have a problem you take care of it. Being medically sound is important to everyone. I think that if surgery is recommended and advised, then it is necessary. Julianne is amazing and a sweetheart. I wish her the best in resolving her medical condition and continued success in what ever she choses to do. She works hard and her efforts show.

Get better sweetie and continue to WOW us with your talents. You are truly a delightful young lady.

Love you,
Julie Ann

50. My prayers are with Julianne! She is a beautiful young worman and a fantastic dancer! I had endometriosis and it was very painful. I thought the pain I experienced having endometriosis was worse then when I gave birth to my two children. I can remember getting on the floor in a ball when I would suddenly get hit with the pain. It's possible the endometriosis grew on Julianne's appendix and that's why they're taking it out. I was in my forties when my Dr. put me on the birth control pill because that would slow down the growing of the endometriosis. I had to end up having surgery, after all, to remove the endometriosis because it grew near several of my organs. GOOD LUCK Julianne and hope you have a speedy recovery! I think all of you who have negative comments towards Julianne should keep them to themselves and pray for her speedy recovery!

52. Why would Chuck keep dating her? ESPECIALLY now. She looks like every other boring bubbly blonde.

53. Actually #28 Endometriosis is not a transmittable disease. When I started my period at 12 I knew something was wrong when I was throwing up from the pain, unable to walk. And I was a virgin. Are you really that ignorant?
