Balfour Has Anger Management Issues

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ why officials believe William Balfour violated his parole -- he had missed anger management counseling and substance abuse courses that were required as a condition of his release from prison.

Balfour had served time for attempted murder and carjacking. The anger management lapse is ominous, given that he's a "person of interest" in the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew. As for the substance abuse courses, the Chicago Sun-Times quotes a witness as saying they saw a man resembling Balfour exiting the infamous white SUV "carrying what appeared to be a bottle of liquor."

Several law enforcement sources tell us Balfour could be charged in the murders as early as today, but no timetable is definite.

106. William Balfour is a monster and needs to rot in prison - hopefully with a big cellmate that takes a liking to him! And Julia Hudson was so pathetically desperate for a man that she brought this piece of trash into her son's - and family's - lives. I wonder how she'll live with the guilt?
So incredibly sad.....

Lots of new details

http://www.suntimes.com/news/24-7/1245829,jennifer-hudson-murders-possible-motive-102808.article

-----------------------------------------
On the morning of the day Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother were killed, the singer’s sister Julia Hudson had argued with her estranged husband over car payments, sources say.

The husband, William Balfour, is in custody but has not been charged with the killings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and 7-year-old nephew.

Sources said that Julia Hudson on Friday was told by her employers at the bus company where she worked that her wages would be garnished over the car. Balfour was supposed to have been contributing some payments for the automobile, sources told the Sun-Times.

Julia Hudson complained to Balfour in a phone conversation Friday, a source said. Balfour later went to the Hudson residence on Friday, the same day Jennifer Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother Jason Hudson, were killed in the home. The body of a nephew, Julian King, was found in an SUV on Monday.

The car dispute was among “a whole series of arguments and disagreements,’’ a source told the Sun-Times. Balfour had also accused Julia Hudson of dating someone else, the source said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Daley said Tuesday he's “not proud” of the fact that Chicago is the homicide capital of the nation, but said the Hudson murders could not have been prevented.

“We're not proud of it. But, you don't hide it. You don't take the statistics, all the facts and say it didn't happen. It happens,” Daley said, apparently referring to past attempts to re-classify homicides to hold down the murder rate.

“We'll get it down next year. We'll get it down. We'll do things differently. But, this [Hudson family] crime could never have been prevented, unfortunately.”

At a time when Chicago is one of four finalists for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, the city's image has taken a beating in media coverage of the Hudson family tragedy.

Reporters have noted that gunfire in crime-ridden Englewood, where the Hudson family murders took place, was so routine that neighbors failed to call police when they heard gunshots on Friday morning.

Daley said the murders fall into the unfortunate category that covers 80 percent of all homicides: They're family-related. Somebody gets angry, has access to a gun and settles that dispute with deadly consequences.

Apparently referring to 27-year-old Balfour, Daley said, “Did somebody know that person had a gun? You have to do something about it. Please. I ask anyone: If there's guns in your home, call somebody.”

On Monday, the award-winning actress anchored her family at the morgue, calmly identifying the boy and then turning to her deep faith.

“Yes, that is him,” Hudson said when Julian King’s image appeared via live video feed, according to a spokesman for the Cook County morgue.

After identifying her nephew, Hudson said she felt that her belief in Jesus would help her survive.

The identification capped 2 1/2 days of a wrenching search for the boy, who was missing from the Hudson family home in the 7000 block of South Yale on Friday after his mother, Julia Hudson, returned to find her mother and brother shot to death.

Balfour has been in custody since Friday evening, after he was arrested at a girlfriend’s house on the Southwest Side. Balfour is being held on a parole violation on a 1999 conviction for attempted murder and vehicular hijacking and has not been charged.

But suspicious details emerged Monday.

A neighbor on his girlfriend’s block, in the 1900 block of South Spaulding, said he saw a man who he now believes was Balfour park a white SUV across from his house about noon Friday. He watched the man fiddle around with something in the glove box and then leave the car and walk about half a block — glancing over his shoulder the whole way — to the house where Balfour was later arrested.

At that time, no one in the city knew about the slayings, and it would be hours before an alert would be issued for Julian that said he might be in a white Chevy Suburban driven by Balfour.

“[The boy] had to be in the car,’’ said the neighbor, Willie Graham. “I figure he had to be. I wished I had known.”

One theory is that Julian was shot inside the SUV soon after he was taken from home. Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, were believed to have been shot after a confrontation started at the front door, sources said.

The possible sighting of Balfour on his girlfriend’s block is potentially important because, if true, it puts him in the white Suburban after the murders, which police believe happened around 8 or 9 a.m. Friday, and before the discovery of Julian’s body inside the vehicle Monday morning. Sources say Balfour’s alibi has already been contradicted by his girlfriend, and his cell phone records raise suspicions about his account of his whereabouts. Police were able to track him Friday through cell phone records, sources said.

Police also have been told that Balfour and Julia Hudson had been at the Yale home early Friday before the shootings and may have argued. A family friend said Balfour had made threats against the family and Julian. Julia Hudson and Balfour are believed to have had ongoing domestic problems.

Balfour’s mother, however, has denied that her son was at the Yale home Friday or that he was involved in the shootings.

The SUV was discovered early Monday in the 1300 block of South Kolin after a dog ran to the curb where it was parked and howled — making a noise its owner had never heard before.

“He just ran down the stairs and started howling,’’ said John Louden, of his chihuahua, Lil’ Man. “He has a very keen nose.’’

Louden took down the plate number and went back inside to compare it with one his wife, Lynette, had written down after watching police reports about Julian’s disappearance.

“When he came back in, he said, ‘It’s a match’,’’ Lynette Louden said of her husband. “I said, ‘Oh, God. I hope that child is not in there.’ ”

The couple called police, who responded in two minutes.

Inside the SUV was Julian, who was wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt. He was home Friday because of teacher meetings. The boy had been shot once in the head and was in the back seat, sources said.

The Suburban was taken to Area 5 police headquarters, which has a garage where vehicles can be minutely inspected, sources said.

Jennifer Hudson and her family had offered $100,000 for the boy’s safe return.

108. This is such a sad situation. Problem is that i am in a very similiar situation, my mother and father divorced about 5 years ago, and about 2 years ago, my mom starting dating a man from her job. This man has been in prision for all different things, what is sad is that my dad did a fiull background check on him, and my mother still stays with him. Not to mention, he wrote me a letter saying that he wanted to hook up with me and he also hit on my mother's best friend (more than once) I cant count how many times me and my mom have fought over her relationship with this man. Its very hard to accept, i sleep with a knife next to my bed everynight, just in case. I dont know what to do at this point..Julia probably wanted to believe that this man was 'changed' but i guess the women that date these types of men become so 'brainwashed' that they dont care what will/would happen to their family, as long as someone is giving them 'attention'

109. Thank God I am not the only one who partially blames Julian's mother for all of this. She knew what that man was and still brought him home and introduced him to her family, especially her only son. What the hell is the matter with her? What did she see in him? She selfishly put herself before her family and her son with deadly consequences. When you are a parent, you need to think about your child before yourself. Julian was an innocent child and you can tell by looking at his face that he was a sweet kid. He didn't deserve this and his mother will have to answer to God one day for putting him in that situation. That being said, I pray for their whole family and for the souls of the departed. I hope that one day, what is left of this family can find some peace.

110. I feel horrible for Jennifer most of all. It does seem like her sister knows something she isn't telling. The police will investigate her but are probably waiting on Mr. Balfour to break down and give her up. And for all of you that think this is the only horrible crime going on in our country today. Well what about my friend Ann Presley in Little Rock, AR. Who died over the weekend due a robery and they have no suspects. And then yesterday the shooting at the UCA campus over drugs and someones girlfriend. They have there killer in Chicago but the more the media and you people involve yourselves in this stuff the more he gets away with. The police in Arkansas are not releasing information because they don't want to jeopardize the crimial getting off scott free on techincalities. Like this a@@hole will. Leave it alone and let the police do their job so that he can go to jail. I have no doubt he is guilty but he will get away with it on techincalities because of all the media. Let the police do their job not the media, because all your going to hear next week is how he got off due to some techincality.

112. "12. It is a sole reminder of two things.
ONE; ladies just don't marry the man that just got out of jail, abusive, controlling... THESE ARE RED FLAGS!!!!!

TWO: IF HE JUST GOT OUT OF JAIL FOR TRYING TO KILL SOMEONE, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE WON'T KILL YOU OR YOUR FAMILY........ RED FLAG AGAIN.

Three: if one or two had not happened, then this would not have happen. Men like this do not snap, they show this monster during the relationship and on to the marriage. This was not the first time this man has been violate but the first time he took it this far.

THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO HAPPEN UNTIL WOMEN WAKE UP AND STOP JUST BRINGING ANYTHING WITH A PENIS INTO THEIR HOME AROUND THEIR CHILDREN, CALLING THEM A MAN.

Posted at 11:29AM on Oct 28th 2008 by justice will be servied"

AMEN to that. You have spoken nothing but the truth. Oh and forget red flags. Those were red flags with fireworks, flames... I don't get women like this woman. How could you bring that kind of man around your son. If you are turned on by TRASH, screw trash at a motel and send him on. Don't bring him home.

He's around. I saw him at the press conference standing with the mom. I can't remember the name, but he was there. I know he's hurt and angry as hell. He should be put in a room with that MONSTER. The dad wwould save the tax payers tons of money.

114. "21. yes this case is extremely sad but it's not that unusual. Come to Detroit and see how many kids under 10 yrs old are killed every month. This may seem shocking to some but those people are probably far removed from street reality. People walking the streets carrying their kids get shot at all the time, usually the kids get hit too. Children sitting on the couch in the house watching TV get shot when a drive-by is done on the house. Kids get shot in cars when the shooter is trying to hit someone else and doesnt see the little one low in the back seat. It happens all the time! It doesnt make it any easier but it IS reality in America.

Posted at 11:43AM on Oct 28th 2008 by by"

A sad reality in AMERICA. I tell my son I love him everyday when I put him on the bus.

115. "33. Has it Occured to all of you that are pouring Venom on this Balfour Guy, that maybe, he did not do it and by pouring this kind of Wickedness, you are doing EXACTLY what you are accusing him of doing....Killing an innocent man. Please tone down te Venom. Once he is Officially charged and Convicted, then and only then is he public property.
I have NOT suggested in any way that he is innocent, I am merely indicating that the senseless blogs from all these kneejerk psychologists is a sheer waste of energy that could be more appropriately directed in helping Consoole the bereaved family or make some positive contributions to them.
It is also telling how everyone is condeming the guy because he had been to jail...how many of you have not been to jail ? Food for thought.

Well, I HAVEN"T BEEN TO JAIL!!!!!!!!! If he did this or not , he is still TRASH and should not be with a real woman with children. F**K giving him a second chance. No othe should have him as a step dad for her children. Oh, and the neighborhood is not to blame for this. If you want to screw trash - screw trash, but keep trash away from your family. Hell I'm poor , but I'm not with trash.

116. Anger problems? DUH you think??? This mother made a decision to have this person in her life and he in turn took the lives of her family. This is so tragic. She should have made better decisions about the people she brought around her son. Now it is too late.

117. Murders happen no matter what area you live in, what predisposes you to being more of a victim of such a crime though has as much to do with who you associate with as it does if you live in a high crime area, just keep in mind, most murders and crimes against the person are committed by someone who knew the victim, only a small percentage are from a stranger, so it wouldn't have mattered where they lived, actually it's probably better they didn't move, maybe the whole family including Jennifer would be dead if say they all lived together somewhere better (surely Jennifer doesn't make so much just yet as to buy each person their own house), it's just a possibility, things happen for a reason mostly for us to learn from the tragedy, not just Julia but all of Us,

Secondly, What bothers me most about Julia though ( and i don't wish her any ill will at all i hope she gets through this ok) as a few people here noticed also, is the possibility that she might still hold some feelings for this man Balfour ( a lot of evidence points to him being the murderer and she even states that her family died due to her loving the wrong man something to that effect on her myspace) due to her still displaying pictures of him all over her site with loving words also, that is very worrying, i hope she has a good support around her right now to not let her be in contact with him and to bring her to her senses if that is true, what's happened is a tragedy but it would be more so if she was still holding feelings for this man after all this, she needs to keep away from him for good if she has any chance to get over this and not to get more trouble for herself, it's desturbing to think what's going on in her mind if her myspace reveals anything about her mindstate right now,.
