Celebrity Justice
El DeBarge Guilty -- Sent to El Big House

El DeBarge will spend the next two years feeling the rhythm of the night behind bars in connection with a recent drug bust in L.A.

The pop star was just sentenced to two years in state prison -- starting right this second. Authorities are currently taking him to California State Prison in Lancaster where he will immediately begin his sentence.

The judge decided his conduct during the drug bust earlier this month -- in which DeBarge was allegedly found with crack cocaine on his person -- was enough to violate the probation he was on from a drug case in 2007.

31. #9, this isn't black on black crime -- this is black on crack crime. Big difference.

32. Is this the same guy that sang After The Dance with FOURPLAY?

33. Pablo--

Regardless of El's accomplishments, he's still a drug addict LOSER!! You're either his defense lawyer or his long time lover. Which is it?

34.
This is very sad! Prison and being locked up like an animal does not help nor rehabilitate non -violent drug users. People who have serious drug problems are very sick it’s an addiction. They should not be sent to prison! This man should not be sent to state prison, for two years. How does that help the real problem drug addiction? He should be sent to a drug rehab program for two yearsor more. Save the space in the prison systems for murders, sex offenders and thief’s.

Please vote YES on proposition 5
YES on Prop. 5 is a smart, safe way to:
Prevent crime with drug treatment for youth;
Provide rehab, not prison, for nonviolent drug offenders;
Reduce prison overcrowding;
Keep violent offenders in prison; and
Free up billions for schools, health care, and highways.

37. oh El...this is really sad news. His family has been plagued with drug abuse, I mean quite a few of them had problems with drugs. It's just sad, I hope he gets his life together when he gets out.

38. It's a crying shame that "brothers" can kick brothers when they are down! Try being in his shoes if you can. Imagine you, a 47-year-old father, once on the top of the world, still full of talent but bound by an addiction and can't pull yourself out of it, now going to prison, You can laugh at that and point fingers --- without guilt or compassion? SHAME ON YOU! Instead of talking about El, why not stop to pray for his deliverance from this horrible bondage that has resulted in nearly a million Blacks ito be in U.S. prisons? It affects not only those with this serious addiction but everyone who loves them, so quit posting nasty comments and instead think of ways you can encourage him (and others incarcerated for drugs) while they arelocked up. Write them. Get involved in politics and stop the discrimination in the justice system that sends minorities to prisons and whites to rehab.

39. It so hurts my heart to read the hurtful comments. How can you be so mean spirited when another precious heart is hurting inside. Are you so miserable inside that saying such hurtful words makes you feel better about yourself or should I say makes you feel on the top like he once was? Death and Life is in the power of the tongue, one of these days El might be reading about you, I bet he won't be so mean.

41. I love me some El Debarge. My heart goes out to him, I will be praying for him to be healed from the demons of drug addiction. No one knows how it feels to be a drug addict unless your a drug addict. I thank God I never had the need for
such wasted things as drugs. El is the most talented black male entertainer around. I would love to record with him one
day very soon, he's that talented. I am an aspiring singer/songwriter here in L.A. myself. I really pray for the entire Debarge
family, I pray that the curse of drug addiction and prison is removed. I pray that the lord gives them the strength to really
rebuke demonic temptations of failure in the name of JESUS!. Such a very beautiful and talented family. Please don't loose hope, God is still in control.

42. Don't judge. It could've been you. This is a time for compassion and prayer for one of the world's great R&B talents, and much more than most of you could ever imagine.

44. It is sad that the DeBarges have been in and out of jail for as long as they have been famous. Drugs is this troubled family's curse. Their one great talent is that they can create the most beautiful songs this side of heaven. As a gay male, I must admit that they are pound for pound some of the most beautiful men to ever emerge in showbusiness. And I must admit that I have had fantasies of being locked up in a jail cell with them throughout the years. But those are just fantasies. The reality is that there mother has over 50 grandchildren, mostly concieved from overzealous female fans who'll do anything to have sex with those gorgeous men inorder to have their babies. El has had baby mama drama since he was fifteen, long before he became famous. In 1985 he did jail time for beating up a woman who refused his sexual advances, in 1996 he did jail time for refusing to pay back child support and last year he was arrested for not only drugs but assualting his own wife. He supposedly is the father of 11 children, so obviously he doesn't believe in protection and probably created them while under the influence of drugs. What really bothers me is all these female fans who constantly want people to Pray for El but at the same time will be the first to get him drugs so they can hop in bed with him and have his babies. These people are hypocrites. I understand however because even the Jackson sisters Latoya and Janet were obsessed over Bobby and James.DeBarge. Pretty Boys need to grow up some time and these females need to help them do it instead of indulging them. It's time for El to wake up and perhaps the next two years in jail will help him. TIME WILL REVEAL.

45. My prayers are with Patrick/El since I've learned about this news. And, my prayers will be with him here on out. When I 1st saw the "Mug Shot" i was in awe...the image of that picture stayed with me...in a haunting way. I was the BIGGEST FAN!! However, human nature kicked in and I begun to talk about him--"wow, he looks like he is on Meth"...and "I use to love him"...That word LOVE made me repent. I felt convicted spiritually. And, my spiritual nature kicked in and I began to PRAY for HIM. Prayer is powerful. I Love you EL!
