Hanson Bro Fires the One Finger Salute

So what's weirder? A Hanson Brother with facial hair -- or the fact that one of the "MMMbop" kids just flipped the bird!
Hanson: Click to watch
23-year-old Zac (goatee) and 25-year-old Taylor (finger) joined the other one for a show in Falls Church, Virginia yesterday -- where it seemed at least one of the guys is finally over that damn song you couldn't get out of your head 11 years ago. Sure was catchy though...

48. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Seriously. That jack hole photographer was harassing Hanson while they were having a CHARITY walk for poverty and AIDS in Africa. How wildly inappropriate. If you all really don't have anything better to do than make fun of mmmbop, then wow, you have a very sorry life. And really, what do you have to show for when you were 11-years-old? A grammy nomination? Probably not...you were probably too busy picking your nose to write and record a song that Bono of U2 would refer to as genius. But really, mmmbop was so '97, get over it, they were little boys. If you would pull your head out of your you-know-what you would realize that the Hanson brothers have become some of the greatest songwriters of our time and are, unlike all of you, making a huge difference in the world through all their humanitarian work. Go pick your nose.

49. Wow, this video is absolutely amazing.......Hanson is doing a charity walk, a barefoot mile in the cities before their concerts, where they donate $1 PER PERSON who attends to help with the poverty/aids crisis in Africa. Who in Hollywood is doing that?!?! This is something they started themselves. It's beautiful, it's genius!

They are incredible, kind and talented beyond belief. This was so disrespectful, so unbelievable. Look into how many parentless children in Africa due to Aids who have no clean water or medicine for their illness...this sickens me. It's like making fun of that, THIS IS REALITY! Put yourself in their shoes...oh wait, they don't have any.

Love Zac's response, way to go! And Taylor was too nice, as was Isaac...but that's them. I'm gonna care until I'm old and start losin my hair...mmmbopa that. Hanson has MANY loyal fans and will continue to because they treat their fans with respect and continue to make the most touching music. If the last song you heard of theirs was Mmmbop....remember......Ignorance kills!!!!! To all those out there making comments and not knowing what they're even commenting on: if you don't know what's going on, keep your trap shut!!!!!!!!!

....WALK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

50. OK, did anybody hear Hanson on the radio interview in DC yesterday? Steven Tyler and Bono are personal friends of Hanson and big fans anyways, because they were fans before they met them. That's pretty cool. Oh an it wasn't mentioned but Billy Corrigan has been to a few Hanson shows too.

52. I think Hanson is the best group out there. They write great music that is so inspiring and meaningful. They do what they love and are great at it, all to help others that are suffering from different things. And what's with the "how's it feel to be back?" They never left. Keep on walking Hanson and doing what's right. Maybe others can learn from it...

53. What's stupid is people who hate Hanson. They know who they are, and they hate them, YET they still click on the link. Then they are ...miraculously... BLINDSIDED by the fact that the media has once again placed the never ending reminder out there in front of you

...Hanson = Mmmbop... (woo didn't see that one coming...)

Out comes the comments, ironically, as repetative as the song Mmmbop;
"omgz they got mmmbop stuck in my head again."
...Honestly, what the hell did you expect?...

The media never acknowledges any music they might have written since then. (Yes non-fans and people who hate Hanson - they've had probably close to 10 albums since then, songs without the word Mmmbop.) Hanson is not the problem. People who watch things they don't want to watch, media outlets that try to get by in life by a reaction are. I don't care if you hate Hanson. I really don't. I can think of better people to hate for worser reasons than a damn song. But that just goes to show where intelligence is at today in our society.

Lastly. I am a fan. Mmmbop is NOT my favorite song. I actually hate it. My favorite song isn't by Hanson. Please don't assume you know things about people when you clearly don't. Oh and please credit TMZ for coming up with the ORIGINAL idea "let's tell Hanson to sing Mmmbop." ..."let's ask Jaleel White to snort"... They're where entertainment is headed...Sorry Hanson Haters Britney will be back on next week.

54. this crappy reporting is exactly what makes people hate hanson. they don't have an ounce of hate in their bodies except for asses like TMZ reporters, and now they're being made to be compete jerks. they're not happy to have ridiculous "reporters" in their face during the walk (which they didn't even TALK about in this bs) when they're trying to support a cause. check out what they're doing at takethewalk.net and feel ashamed about the rude comments you left or were tempted to leave after seeing this.

57. Seriously, TMZ, stick to reporting about the crappy bands on the radio, and leave the truly talented musicians to themselves. For the record, Hanson wrote that song when Zac, the youngest, was 8. What were you and I doing when we were 8? Certainly not creating a number 1 hit that garnered 3 grammy nominations. And if you actually listened to the lyrics, you'd see that the song is about much more than bubble-gum pop. "You have so many relationships in this life, only one or two will last, you go through all this pain and strife, then you turn your back and they're gone so fast...." I certainly wasn't thinking this deeply when I was 8.

58. Good on Zac for standing up to a smart arsed reporter!
Honestly, even if you can't stand them, if you are going to do a 'story', for lack of a better word, on somebody, at least have the professionalism to research your subject.
And to those of you who felt the need to make negative comments about the band based on this video, I would say the same thing - at least be mature enough to know what you are talking about first.
I don't care if you don't like the band, but base your dislike on more than what happened more than 10 years ago.
In fact, Hanson holds more respect in the music industry than you'd probably care to note. A band that can put their foot down and say to a record label 'No, we are doing this OUR way, this is OUR record, we won't be manufactured.' and then goes out on their own and produces their own independent NUMBER ONE album.... yeah, I'd say they were gone, washed up, has-beens...
A little bit more professionalism next time, please!
