Hangin' Palin Off the Hook, Flamin' John Stays

Effigy-gate is dead, just a day after it began.

The couple who hung up a Sarah Palin mannequin off the side of their West Hollywood house have taken the pseudo-Sarah down, after city officials put heat on them. They'd gotten an incredible amount of attention -- and anger -- from around the world for the Halloween-themed display.

Chad Michael Morrisette tells the LA Times he decided to take down the hanging Sarah after meeting with WeHo mayor Jeffrey Prang. He's leaving up the flaming John McCain, however.

The worst part of this story ? It wasn't artistic in ANY WAY, how does this clown even have a job working as some kind of faux "DESIGNER" ? where i come from we call it something else .

47. I'm against Palin, but this is disgusting. If someone had done this in effigy of Obama, there'd be hate crime charges. It's a shame it's only hateful to want to murder someone of another race, but as long as you're of the same race apparently it's okay to be a pig and wish death on the other person.

Bad taste, it just smacks of a lack of class and education. Grow up.

48. Um, there have been several effigies of Obama and no one rioted. Give me a break. Both ways it's horrible, of course, but putting a noose on a black man harkens back to days (not that long ago) when that was a regular occurance. It's meant to scare black people. Putting up Palin was just an ugly, tasteless prank.

50. ARE YOU PEOPLE KIDDING ME?? EVEN THE OBAMA SUPPORTERS?? There have been HUNDREDS of examples of Obama hanging EVERYWHERE!!! At that Christian college in Oregon, at least a dozen reports of raccoons hanging on Obama signs in Mississippi, Georgia, Indiana, and Minnesota, and JUST THIS MORNING there was an Obama dummy hanging in a tree on the Univ of Kentucky campus. There have been so many Obama hangings by the ignorant racists that the media can't keep track of them all - people are even bringing mini-hanging Obamas to the PALIN rallies!! For heavens sake, one hanging Plain and the country goes berzerk - DUH!!!!!!!!!!

52. I work in Hollywood - and I was ready to GOOGLE the address of that home so that I could go PROTEST against the display !! It was wrong !! WRONG IN EVERY WAY !!! I was even more surprised to find out that it was a "GAY" couple that put up this display !!! Of all f*cken people to do something to discriminative ?? If I hung up two GAYS hanging in my yard - they rainbow coalition would be busting down my door !!! I'M GLAD THEY TOOK IT DOWN - and may I end in saying....This election has done so much damage to Americans ! Let's see, Sept 2nd, Clermont, FL - an Obama sign was discovered WITH A NOOSE HANGING ON IT!!
Sept 24th - George Fox University, Oregon A CHRISTIAN COLLEGE - A dummy of Obama was found hanging in a tree on campus - 4 students have confessed.
Oct 17th - Fairfield OH - Mike Lunsford offended neighbors with his Obama dummy HANGING in a tree.
Oct 21st - Clarksville IN - Kirk Deddo has an Obama dummy hanging from his tree - a neighbor says "it scares my children."
Oct 3rd - Cokato MN - Several dead raccoons were discovered hanging from an Obama sign, the owner of the home, a Democrat, said that he doesn't know who put them there.
THIS WAS BEFORE THE PALIN DUMMY - YOU DUMMY!! And it's NOOSE, not NOSSE. Of course, the Palin dummy will get all of the attention, Obama's hanging everywhere is ok, right? Who's the fool now????
