Protest Over Ass Comment on "Regis and Kelly"

31. White people don't get it & never will you people are the most racist, and judgmental people in the world and you don’t even recognize when your being offensive. No one’s taking it over board just admit this was bad and there should be an apology. Dominicans have the right to be angry. Stop using code words and stating African American’s are BLACKS. You will never get it because you don’t care and you do want to know what pain you have cause to other people. Why CNN or ABC didn’t let Obama air on their stations? I’ll tell you why! They are racist too, they knew it would give him leverage and they don’t want their WHITE audience to VOTE OBAMA. FOX don’t like African American’s, George Bush don’t’ like African American’s, and now I’m starting to think CNN don’t like African American’s. Why don’t they ever have the same amount of African American’s speaker on their shows? What there’s no BLACKS on their roll call? No that’s not it there are a bunch of racist white folk who could care less about BLACKS or any other race. Why like people that are far more better at everything from basketball, baseball, dancing, ect. And by the way there are far more whites welfare than BLACKS. WHITES are the ones who created AIDS, and prisons to kill the BLACK race.

32. I'm stunned. There are so many important things in this world to be upset over: homelessness, domestic violence, child abuse, just to name a few. Is a child's mispronunciation of a word something of such monumental importance that people really feel it's necessary to stage a protest over it?? Am I missing something here? Whoever takes part in this protest needs to get a life and learn about what the really important issues are. Jeez Louise, how lame can people get?

My God, now it's a hate crime to laugh about a child's mistake??? Give me a damn break! Your ignorance sir/maddam is austanding. I can not believe the crap you have typed here. Dominicans are one of the most hardest working people you will ever meet. Their culture is rich in folklore as much as the other islanders and no, dominicans are not really into voodoo. Get a life. I believe that they do have a right to be a bit offended, why can't they? Other ethnic groups get offended over simple things and protest. No one seems to mind it. As well as groups in America....Why did the GAY and Lesbian community get pissed off at Washington from Grey's because of the so called slurr, but not angry at Adam Sandler in his move "I know pronounce you...:" Is it because they think if in a comedy to make fun of Gays there is nothing wrong, but in a show it's a no no..or could be because Washington is an African American actor? I do agree that people are too sensitive nowadays, but until people start thinking before talking we will never ever get rid of these comments. Over breeding you say? The Dominincan Republic was an Indigenous island before Colombus arrived and brought with him, the poor slaves from Africa, thieves, and sickness. After that the French came and brought more Africans. Along with the french and Spaniards, the Africans all of them mixed with OUR Indians, MOST NOT WILLINGLY. We come to America for the same reasons many other people do, opportunities and FREE education. And we ARE by far one of the most EDUCATED Group in America. Google us up and you will see that NOT only do we work hard for the money, we work hard for our education, since we KNOW how difficult it is to pay school in our Island. Someone like Kelly Rippa might not understand how the little joke might not be offensive, but live a day in our lives and you will think twice.

37. This is why Rac!sm is alive and well in this country. Not because of the comments, but because of the context that people put in to their own minds that this was "offensive". People need some self esteem. Protesting should be illegal unless there is a very valid political point involved. Not because of dumb comments. They all should be arrested. Then they will get raped in jail by some white OR black guy and sue the jail for rac!sm anyways........everyone is looking for a free ride with a lawsuit. Get some self esteem and get a job. Barack Obama is black and is almost president of the U.S. So that should tell you something about what whites think of good, honest, hard working black men and women. No matter what color you are, you can do anything. Protesting makes you look weak.

I’m writing this email in regard of the comment Regis and Kelly made on the show yesterday comparing the word donkey with Dominican. The Dominican community feels insulted by this comment in which we wish for them to make an apology in the show, I have been a fan of the show for years and will like to keep it this way.
