16. 14. That makes no sense...wouldn't they search the SUV right away??...supposedly someone knew the SUV was sitting there but they waited 3 days to do anything about it ...when there is a missing kid involved??...something is wrong with this whole story

I agree. The fact that Julian's body was covered with a curtain does NOT explain why it took 3 days to find the SUV.

17. Yes, it sounds like this was a family of hoods....I hope Jennifer does not get drawn back into it, sounds like her sister and family are low lifes although it is so sad that the child was killed, it is always the innocent.

18. I am reading these post and I am personally in shock ..... All we can do as spectators is offer prayers, sympathy, and/or empathy for this family. It is natural to be curious about this heinous crime, but to make judgements on things we are not certain of is ridiculous! We only know what the chicago police department has released. We don't know if Julia searched the house looking for her son or not .... maybe it was too much to handle after seeing her mom lying on the floor in a pool of blood... I believe it was a smart thing to do, as to not contaminate the crime scene.... As a mom, I do not think I would have looked further. I couldnt handle seeing my children harmed in any way.... People grieve and handle stress differently I for one cannot judge her for updating,or reading messages from well wishers on her myspace page. From what I've read Jen and Jules are under heavy security.... I imagine there is not much to do but wait. same images and a million questions you ask yourself over and over... I do agree with the comment that William Balfour may not be the killer... My mind tells me it is someone else too (my 2 cents) To Justice....They lost their father when Jennifer was a teenager. My prayers to the entire Hudson/King family

20. This seems like a rather innocuous piece of evidence that pretty much doesn't mean anything. They were supposedly looking for this specific SUV all along, so one would ASSUME that if they found one matching the description, they would search it. Lot of things about this case that just don't add up.

I am so saddened and horrified that a little boy had to go through such a tragic, unimaginably horrific end, as well as what he seems to have had to live through during his short life. I hope the truth is revealed very soon and justice is served swiftly.

23. 11. I agree with blogs (#3) statement, "I'm also thinking she (Jennifer) may know and is just holding it inside for now because it's too much." I too believe Jennifer knows much more than any of us.
I wish people would quit trying to be cop, judge and jury. Everybody is so quick to point fingers, make accusations and cast judgment based on what they have heard or read.... Doesn't anyone realize there is so much more to the story than any of us know? The officials are not going to reveal all the details and facts until the timing is right. Let them do their job and just pray for justice.

And for those that feel the need to list a page of "facts" (not opinions) at least know what you're talking about and make sure they are actually "facts", it really makes you look ignorant. Reminds me of the old saying, "Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story"
God Bless this family for not only losing their loved ones but also for having to deal with the "know-it-alls"

24. Some things just don't make sense about this case.

Why on earth would Balfour ditch the SUV with the body close to his gf's house and not far from the crime scene? Why would he toss the gun so close to the area where he was? Wouldn't a murderer try to ditch the SUV and weapon far away from where they hung out?

I also agree that this story makes no sense - if they were looking for the SUV, why would it matter that the boy was covered with a shower curtain INSIDE of it?

I am also curious why they haven't released any information regarding the analysis of Balfour's clothing for gunshot residue - wasn't that done a while ago?

25. PRAISE JESUS! The gun matches. It IS only a matter of days and we will ALL know. William and his bud are going to prison and will be put to death. THEN they will rat out Julia and whoever else participated! This is a GLORIOUS DAY!

FLASH*** - Julia was not the "family member" that went to the house and found the body(s) folks, it was a cousin. THEN Julia probably called around, etc. and figured out then the suv was gone and Julian was missing.

SOOOOOOO, we MAY all be wrong about Julia BUT WIlliam and his bud DID DO THIS. WIliam (or Julia) may not have pulled trigger but his gang buddy did. This will all be over or close to it next week. 100% POSITIVE.

This is gang, drug and $$ related. Julia is just ghetto and cluless on how she's acting and her MySpace page. She MAY have known something but was not involed in killings. Julian's dad, Greg may have know something too.

Theory 1: Julia Hudson's Involvement
There are too many holes in this story:

1) The body of Jennifer Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson was found by Jennifer Hudson’s sister Julia around 2:45 PM Friday. Julia called 911 to report the shooting. She also reported her 7-year-old son missing. Police arriving on the scene found Hudson’s brother Jason shot to death in a bedroom.- okay I got this from CNN. My question is how could she report her son missing if she never went through the house. She claimed to have walked in the door, and after seeing her mother's body in the living room, left out the house and called 911. She then went to the police station to report Julian missing. How did she know he was missing and not hiding in the house or somewhere murdered in the home? Apparently, the police discovered her brothers body- she did not. As I said, she only made it to the front door.

2) Friday was a teacher's work day in Chicago. Therefore, children did not report. Julia is a school bus driver. Why was she working then? If her son didn't have school, she shouldn't have had to work.

3) Police have stated that Jason Hudson was shot when the gunman shot through the front door. He also received defensive wounds. However, his body was found in an upstairs bedroom. If you've seen a picture of him- he was no small guy. William, a man of small stature, could not have taken him upstairs alone. If Jason was shot in the thigh, he would have needed a very large person to help him upstairs. I always wondered in that type of area, shouldn't they have a gun in the home?

4) Shell casings were found in Julian King's bedroom, yet police are saying he was killed in the SUV.

5) The small bullet only went through the wooden door, so the door should have still been locked. How did the killer get in? If he shot at the door first, who in their right mind would have opened it for him?

6) Why didn't they come at night when most murders occur? The whole family would've been there, and they could've killed everyone.

7) Sure, the police could've been monitoring Julia's myspace, but I doubt it. This is more along the lines of the FBI and they didn't jump aboard until late Saturday. I'm sorry, but I just can't imagine with your mother and brother being tragically killed, and your son missing, the last thing I'd be thinking about is the damn computer. And if it was her on the computer, and William was a suspect, why did she keep him as her #2 friend? His *ss would've been gone with the quickness. Why did she feel the need to explain her actions on Myspace yesterday? Why has she been seeking support from her fans on Myspace when I'm sure she's surrounded by family and friends who love her? I'm sure her closest friends/family know how to reach her. Is she enjoying her newly found celebrity status? My little cousin was gunned down a few years ago in Detroit and my Aunt joined a support group for grieving mothers. She said during her meeting yesterday, the women unanimously agreed that something wasn't right about Julia Hudson- even the grief counselor said that she's exhibiting questionable behavior for a grieving mother.

8) Her appearance at the press conference was a little too calm and collected for me. Her hair was fly, she looked pretty well-rested, and she said Julian was more "like a little brother?"

I pray that I'm wrong. Lord, I do. I just can't imagine a mother being involved in something like this, which is why I've held back on posting this. But something isn't adding up. If they had something on William, they would've charged him. I think they're trying to get William on technicalities.

Theory 2:

Jason Hudson's Involvement

Jason Hudson has had a few run ins with the law. Perhaps he owed some people some money and they were coming after him. I'm not sure what Ms. Donnerson's schedule would've been like on a regular school day and what time Julian went to school. Maybe she normally took him to school, and didn't come home from dropping him off until around 9:30. If the killers had been watching the house all week, and noticed this pattern, maybe they didn't expect to find Mrs. Donnerson and Julian there on Friday. I mean, it wasn't like it was a major holiday. This would've explained a few things:

1)Why Jason went from being shot downstairs to going upstairs in his bedroom. Did he have something in his bedroom that the killers wanted? Otherwise, why did they let him walk upstairs instead of shooting him in cold blood like they did his mother?

2)They weren't expecting to see Julian. I think this may have really posed a problem for them as they struggled with what to do with him and the person couldn't bear to kill a 7 year old kid. I mean, they had enough heart not to kill the dog- but then again the dog can't talk. Whoever killed Jason and his mother probably didn't kill Julian- they got someone else to. The sad thing is, this poor boy witnessed the murder and became a liability.

I hope the Chicago Police does a good job and looks at all angles.

Friday, October 24, 2008 – sometime before 2:44 p.m. – Jennifer Hudson’s cousin discovers the body of 57-year old Darnell Hudson Donerson in the living room. Donerson is the mother of the Oscar-winning singer/actress. Police are called to the scene.


Friday, October 24, 2008 – 2:44 p.m. - Officers arrive at Donerson’s home, and also find Hudson’s brother, 29-year old Jason Hudson killed in the bedroom. The victims had died of fatal gunshot wounds. Hudson’s 7-year old nephew, Julian King, the son of her sister Julia Hudson, is reported missing and kidnapped from the scene.

Friday, Oct. 24 – between 3 and 4 p.m. – Jennifer Hudson is notified while in Tampa, Florida and immediately leaves for Chicago.

Friday, Oct. 24 – late afternoon - Chicago police name 27-year old William Balfour as a suspect in the double homicide, which they believe stems from a domestic situation. Balfour is the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia. The couple shared a residence and a vehicle registration, and had been married for a year before separating.

Friday, Oct. 24 – evening – Police track Balfour’s whereabouts through his cell phone and find him at his pregnant girlfriend’s house and take him into custody. Balfour, out on parole after recently serving 7 years in prison for attempted murder and kidnapping, denies involvement in the disappearance of the boy. Balfour’s pregnant girlfriend is questioned by police, her statement contradicts Balfour’s alibi.

Friday, Oct. 24 – evening – Jennifer Hudson arrives in Chicago and accompanies her family to identify the bodies of her mother and brother.

Saturday, Oct. 25 – Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama tells Extra’s Mario Lopez that the Hudson tragedy was “heartbreaking,” and that he was trying to get a number to reach out to her. “She is someone who has campaigned for me. She also lives in my community. So we’re really gonna have to help her and pray for her and her family during this difficult time,” says Barack.

Saturday, Oct. 25 – evening - Julia Hudson pleads for her son’s safe return at a press conference at Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church on the South Side of Chicago. “I don’t care who you are, just let my baby go,” she said. “I just want my son back. He doesn’t deserve this.” Julia said that when she told Jennifer the news, she was screaming and flew in right away.

Sunday, October 26 – Jennifer Hudson offers a 100,000 reward for the safe return of her nephew, whose nickname was “Juice Box” and “Dr. King.”

Monday, October 27 – 7:06 am – A 1994 White Chevrolet Suburban identified as the vehicle belonging to Jason Hudson was discovered with a body in the rear seat. People in the neighborhood told the local TV station that they did not recall seeing the vehicle on Friday or Saturday. The body is believed to be that of Jennifer Hudson’s nephew.

Monday, Oct. 27 - 3:54 p.m. – TMZ.com reports that the boy suffered at least one gunshot to the head. Jennifer Hudson was en route to identify the body of a 7-year old found in the back of the vehicle believed to be Julian King.

Monday, Oct. 27 -- 5:00 p.m.-- Police confirm that the body found in the car is the nephew of Jennifer Hudson, Julian King. They are reviewing surveillance tapes in the neighborhood where the SUV was found to try to determine what time the SUV arrived there. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
