Hudson Victim -- Murdered by His Own Gun?

Jason HudsonOne of the victims in the Hudson murder case could have been shot to death by his own weapon.

Jennifer Hudson's brother Jason owned a gun that may have been identical to the murder weapon, according to law enforcement sources and neighbors who spoke with the Chicago Tribune.

According to those sources, Jason said the gun had been stolen from the family home -- the crime scene -- a few months ago.

Law enforcement sources are now investigating whether the gun used in the Hudson triple murders once belonged to Jason Hudson.

Jason's brother-in-law, William Balfour is the suspect in the case.

17. fuggue #16, Drug dealers would have shot the little boy right on the spot! Only somebody that knew him well would have taken him assuming he was even home at the time. That is where Julia comes in. If the gun belonged to Jason then he was in possession of a stolen gun. The fact that he refused to go to the hospital with a bullet wound to his leg makes me think he accidentally shot himself and didn't want to have to show the gun. Now the only reason he and his sister would be involved in drugs etc. would have been for money. Was jennifer just blind to this or just too greedy afterall she always bragged she would go back home to be one with her roots but she failed to mention she was staying in her $500,000.00 condo downtown Chicago! Don't sell the house too quickly Jenn. That gold digger you're engaged to couldn't get Ms. New York's money but he has a pretty good handle on yours. Another Stedman for sure!

18. It sounds like Jason was just a drug-dealing, gun-toting, fat, lazy piece of trash. He "lived by the sword and died by the sword," and it would only be appropriate if he was killed with his very own STOLEN gun. Is the world a better place without people like him? YES IT IS.

19. This triple murder case is getting stranger and stranger by the day!
i could swera that it had been previously reported that the murder weapon had been traced to an owner in Michigan who had reported it stolen some time ago!
If that is true then how could Jason had been the possible owner of this gun?
Unless Jason too had obtained it illegally which would mean that someone who knew him would have to had told this to the investigators.
Now I'm wondering if William Balfour is simply in "protective custody" and not so much being held on the "parole violation" which they could have picked him up long ago for?
Perhaps William is the "tipster" who is giving the police all of the leads and they want the public to believe that he had something to do with this in ordere to throw of the real culprit!
I'm thinking that the title "person of interest" fits William very well...the police is very "interested" in this person (William) because he is the one who will crack this case and its not because he's the killer!
P.S...The police say that he's not cooperating right?...But of course if he's the tipster in such a high profile triple murder they're going to say and do anything to bring this case to a close.
This is merely some things that are going through my mind...I just pray that this case is solved soon!

20. What is wrong with you people? This is a triple murder, where a child was one of the victims. Do you expect the police to tell the public, all they know. If Balfour wasn't involved, or there wasn't anything linking him to this case, they wouldn't have him. They always look to the person closest to the victims, when something like this happens. That would be Julia. I'm sure the police have interviewed her, AND confirmed her wearabouts, otherwise we would have heard something by now. Remember Casey Anthony? If they thought Julia was involved in any way, they would splash that all over the media, just like they did Casey Anthony, Susan Smith, Andrea Yates, etc. They NEVER sit on something like that, Between Julia and William, I'm more prone to believe the one whose already been convicted of attempted murder, is the culprit, verses the one who, by all accounts, had a good loving relationship with the victims, one being her own child. Also Balfour vows to get revenge on Julia for reporting him to the cops, by killing her and her whole family. A couple of days later, there murdered and you come up with Julia, or Jennifer's ex, as the suspect? Some of you are just stupid. Anyway, its white women who murder, there children.

21. I have no idea who the killer is, but chances are it is not random. I think they knew their killer, and the baby knew who it was also. That makes this even more tragic.

22. For #19 - The person in Michigan was reported to be the ORIGINAL owner of the gun. The fact that this was traceable most likely means that s/he purchased it from a legal seller and registered it as required by law. That owner reported it stolen some time afterward. Stolen weapons make their way across the nation illegally in a variety of ways, often through gang enterprises organized for this purpose. One who buys a weapon "off the street" instead of at a legal gun shop (sporting goods, law enforcement supply house, etc.) does so with the assumption that it's probably stolen, so of course they aren't going to be foolish enough to try to register it. Also, here in Illinois, and in most other states, you can't legally buy, register, and possess ANY weapon if you're a convicted felon. Lots of those who handle and possess the stolen weapons already have some kind of criminal record so that's another reason why these things don't get registered. We don't really know how or when Jason got a gun (this one or one like it), when the one he had was stolen, or, if this is indeed the same gun, how many others had it between the time it was stolen in Michigan and the time Jason ended up with it. So we'll have to wait to learn more as the story develops.

23. They have said all along that it is not random. There was never any question about that. This bunch of lowlifes brought this on themselves. Jennifer may have gotten herself out of the ghetto but her family certainly did not. Sounds like they all lived a very shady lifestyle. Too bad the little boy got caught in the middle of it all and lost his life. Unfortunately, he would have grown up to be just like them all if Jennifer couldn't get him out there. It's all very sick. Sounds like a bunch of jealousy over Jennifer's success and a deep-rooted pattern of gangster ghetto life. That gun was stolen from a guy in Michigan and Jason "owned" it? I don't think most of us can identify with any of this behavior, it's a pretty disgusting lifestyle.

24. "William Balfour is the suspect in the case"

Actually he hasn't been named a suspect in the case, that's a lie and Tmz can be sued for reporting lies.

26. Julia is a dumb b**ch, but I don't see a motive for her killing her family. She has less than poor judgment in choosing men and may have been dealing with a psycho.

29. Actually he is a suspect of intertest in this case. However not charged in anything. And he shouldn't be. Not yet

30. Why would Julia go into that house period if there was a bullet hole in the door?
Remember she was "supposedly" there just the night before when she handed her son to her mother at the door!
Obviously there was no bullet hole there on that night.
Point being it is my thought that anyone who would be bold enough to enter thier home that has a big ass bullet hole in the door would not turn around and leave if they saw thier mama laying on the floor dead!
They would run TO her screaming and would be hollering for thier child also!
I dont really even think that they would be in the right mindset to worry about whether the killer was still i the house or not..maternal instinct would have them running through that house looking for thier child!
Point being, if Julia was bold enough to enter that house with a bullet hole in the door then why wasnt she bold enough to run to her mama and most importantly tear that house up and look for her baby?
I'm just wondering about this because I'm very suspicious but not neccesarily accusing!
