Nelson Owes Milhouse Apology for "Gay" Slur

Nelson Muntz from "The Simpsons" is used to being in trouble, but now he's under fire over a "super gay" comment he made on Sunday's Halloween episode ... ha HUH?

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the people who teamed up with Hilary Duff to fight the offensive use of the phrase "that's so gay," is now going after Nelson for his homophobic comment on the show.

In a statement to TMZ, GLSEN says: "Nelson's use of 'that's so gay' in a negative way is not surprising considering that 90 percent of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth say they hear the term used this way frequently or often at school. Nelson should visit ThinkB4YouSpeak.com where he can send an apologetic e-card to Milhouse. GLSEN would also welcome Nelson's participation in our next PSA so he can make amends by helping to educate young people about why such language is wrong."

A rep for the show was not immediately available for comment. Nelson's people couldn't be reached for comment either ... since he's a cartoon.

1. happy
2. stupid
3. homosexual

49. Clearly when we say Thats gay or that looks gay etc...we don't mean Homosexual...I know I don't ....usually-
I have been saying it since 8th grade when I really didn't even know "gay" and I am 38 and I still say it with no disrespect to our wonderful homosexual neighbors. Maybe we should spell the "other" gay - ghey- that way no one gets all upset cuz thats gay er ghey.

51. Omg! its the simpsons, as a "gay", myself nobody cares that they used the term properly or inproperly. Thease groups are so embarrassing they make us seem like we bitch all day long in all actuallity we have more important things to worry about like prop 8 or what outfit we're gonna wear to that new club.

54. Brian has said this on the Family Guy several times, no one cared then... I guess only the Simpsons gets close scrutiny. I like the poster that pointed out the GLAD folks don't care that a kid is being assaulted, only that one uttered "so gay", lol! Hypocrites!

60. OKAY, I am soooo freaking SICK of the people that are offended by "that's so gay" comments. I live in San Francisco, I grew up here and had about 1 straight friend the whole time I was growing up in the 80's- NEWSFLASH to lil' miss hillary dumb, i mean Duff, We were using that phrase b4 you were a zygotre girl, get over it!
The phrase reminds me of 80's POPCULTURE, not homosexual hate crimes. STOP the madness. DON'T we have other things to worry about than censoring people's pop culture phraseology. I mean Hillary, if you really want to harp on someone, how about all those people that are related to you that still use the word Colored, to describe, my people! Get real!!
