Nelson Owes Milhouse Apology for "Gay" Slur

Nelson Muntz from "The Simpsons" is used to being in trouble, but now he's under fire over a "super gay" comment he made on Sunday's Halloween episode ... ha HUH?

The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), the people who teamed up with Hilary Duff to fight the offensive use of the phrase "that's so gay," is now going after Nelson for his homophobic comment on the show.

In a statement to TMZ, GLSEN says: "Nelson's use of 'that's so gay' in a negative way is not surprising considering that 90 percent of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth say they hear the term used this way frequently or often at school. Nelson should visit ThinkB4YouSpeak.com where he can send an apologetic e-card to Milhouse. GLSEN would also welcome Nelson's participation in our next PSA so he can make amends by helping to educate young people about why such language is wrong."

A rep for the show was not immediately available for comment. Nelson's people couldn't be reached for comment either ... since he's a cartoon.

77. Slang can be offensive. I, for example, take great offense to the misuse of the word "retarded". However, we do all live under the umbrella of that pesky "freedom of speech" amendment, and it's a sword that cuts both ways. I'm still not changing my citizenship, even if I hear "retarded" a million more times in a derogatory way. Is that just SO GAY of me? or totally RETARDED?

Calling something gay that you feel is stupid is hateful. it doesnt matter if you get offended, the fact that it can hurt people should be enough to make you stop. bullying in schools and gay people getting killed is from this exact ablity people have to ignore when hate is being worked into society.

80. If you're not gay, it's not going to phase you. This is a big issue with some, especially in the video game community where you get subjected to kids whose voices haven't even changed yet calling you a f*cking f*ggot every time you kill them. Using the word out of context makes one look stupid and immature.... like Nelson. If you think it's okay for your kids to use the word out of context, then I'm sure you'll be okay when someone who gets offended by it tells them why what they just said was wrong.
