Palin's a Real Plush Around Male Staffers

11/6/2008 5:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Maybe Sarah Palin took that whole "Nailin' Paylin" thing to heart. Turns out the veep-seeker had no trouble greeting a couple of aides in just a towel.

Newsweek
reports senior McCain staffers Steve Schmidt and Mark Salter showed up to her hotel room in at the GOP convention and were surprised to see her swan into the room post-shower, wearing just a towel. "I'll be just a minute," she told the guys, telling them to hang out with the First Dude -- her husband Todd.

And despite her protestations to the contrary, Newsweek also says Palin bought pricey duds not just for herself, but for her kids as well -- on junior staffers' credit cards, which has been "reimbursed."

That article in Newsweek is nothing more than a bunch of McCain people trying to pass the buck for their pathetic LOSER candidate not being able to do the job and win the White House. PATHETIC!!! They should feel lucky that their guy only lost by about 7 million votes. If Governor Palin wasn't in the mix, it would've been by a HELL of a lot more!!!

Palin should've been the #1 pick, and McCain should've been shoved in the garbage!!! He wasn't a real conservative!!! HE WAS A FRAUD!!! Why vote for a gutless liberal who can't admit when you can vote for the other guy who has the balls to admit it, Barak Obama? Say what you want about that guy, but at least you knew who he was, and his message was consistent. McCain? He was whatever the HELL he thought he needed to be to try and win!!! Palin was everything McCain wasn't, and this type of petty, pathetic, low-rent attempted smear campaign against her is DISGUSTING!!!

I'm going to be glad when all those McCain/Bush frauds are kicked out of the Republican party, people like Palin end up taking over and bringing the party back to where Ronald Regan had it, because the GOP won when that was the case!!!

The wholesale crucifixion of Sarah Palin is the most sexist and ridiculous piece of garbage yet put out by the media. McCain ran a crappy campaign - he was so BUSY trying not to show temper, because that was a Democrat talking point, that he went out of his way to look like Obama's butt boy. It was pathetic. Combine that with the media bias (some reporters saying they CRIED with joy over Obama- a shocking statement of their bias) and Palin was the ONLY person showing some "balls" in ANY of this campaign. Starting with the slimey lies about her children Trig and Bristol, and ending with the obsession with her clothes (at least her dress didn't look like a maxi pad trimmed in duct tape), the racists who called her white trash though she is a governor, and now the inevitable sniping from the losers who planned that abysmal campaign, it has been a shock to watch. She's been called EVERY name in the book, but she played the game better than any of the whining men in it. Screw McCain's staff- they look like sore losers and they ARE.

Toby Keith calls himself a lifelong democrat who voted for McCain because of all the lies Palin was subjected to.

Yep, that Dixie Chick-hatin' inbred hick expects people to believe that the criticisms of Palin were untrue while the campaign against Obama, though totally devoid of any policy or substance, was simply a relentless retelling of the truth about Obama- how he was a socialist, how he'd screw Joe the Plumber, how he hung out with muslims and terrorists from "that neighborhood."

Sure, Toby, you're a heartbroken ex-democrat. Who loves Bush, McCain, and especially Palin. Can you tell the difference? Guess not. One hint- they're all unworthy of being in the same discussion as Barack Obama. Finally got us a real president. Intellect, knowledge, learning and evolving are back on the table. Toby thinks God created everything and all we have to do is fight for it.

Anyone defending Sarah Palin and talking 2012, seeing her, the conservatives, Joe the Plumber or nasty politics as continuing options will hilariously find themselves in the exact same position once again because it proves that indeed you people do not believe in evolution- or learning from your mistakes, for that matter. You Bible Belt high school dropouts still don't get it! Reagan's time is long gone- plus he was a dysfunctional president in dysfunctional times. Thirty years ago! Stop clinging to his corpse- he was a near-senile actor whose trickle-down economics got us into the mess we're in! This Republican Party is over. It's dead. Stay or move further to the right and you'll be third behind, way behind- Ralph Nader's party. Remember kids- stay in school, read about history, geography, and oh, yes- evolution. Otherwise, you simply can't compete- and don't deserve to. Go back to watching sports and talkin' bout Paris and Britney.

The bottom line is that the Republicans sacrificed an old man because they knew that they were not going to win agains Obama and Palin was sent in for press attention. They just didn't relaize how un aware she was and how "hick" she was and how she was in this for herself. Live and learn. I am sure they will be very careful in picking their next VP candidate and it won't be anyone from Alaska.

You americans are all so wacky and funny... :-)
Regarding Sarah, yeah she's a hot milf (gilf?), I'd like to trip and fall and slam into her crotch (a few times)...
But most political campaigns in most democratic countries usually look for people who do not have checkered pasts, like army-dodging, drugs, abuse, illegal actions, etc., which unfortunately I don't think she passes on all of these...
This "we'll still vote them in even if they have a criminal record/have cheated/act like royalty with the commoner's money/ etc." is just a good way to get corrupt politicians into office.
They should be held to higher standards than your average people, you are trusting them with running your country.
That goes for all of them, Dems and Reps.

the mother of five strutting around male staffers in just a bath towel?? I supported them in the election but if that's true, it is troublesome.

26. One thing I constantly notice about you libs is how angry you are. Your vile words, your hate filled wishes, The way you judge people so harshly. You people who spew "she should be home raising her baby" are the same ones who warehouse your children in daycare. You who condemn her for her daughters actions obviously have never had a teenage daughter who thinks she know everything. I am just amazed. Real tolerance and diversity.

Yeah, there was no lack of hate-spewing in this campaign. However, the liberals are still trying to play catch-up in this hate game, given these gems that came from the conservatives:

- Accusing Obama of being an "anti-American"

- Accusing Obama of being a "terrorist"

- Accusing Obama of being a "racist"

- Accusing Obama of being a "communist"

- Accusing Obama of being a "Muslim"

- Accusing Obama of being a "Nazi" (believe it or not, I actually saw this one)

- Asserting that Obama will lead the African-Americans in vengeance against the whites as a payback for more than 200 years of slavery

- Accusing Obama of having his grandmother killed right before the election as a way to garner some sympathy votes

- Yelling "kill him!" at McCain and Palin rallies when Obama's name was mentioned

The hate coming from the liberal side is inexcusable, but you conservatives have no leg to stand on whatsoever if you try to criticize the libs for this.

I know that it probably feels good to think that Sarah Palin was helping McCain in the campaign, but your feel-good thoughts do not correspond to reality. In this election, the polls proved to be quite accurate, and during the last several weeks of the campaign, these polls showed that Sarah Palin's popularity numbers were falling, and that John McCain's numbers were being dragged down by her.

Palin is very popular with the traditional Republican "core" of evangelicals and strong social conservatives. However, as time goes on, this group comprises an increasingly lower percentage of the electorate.

She was especially unpopular with young voters, and this also bodes poorly for her in future elections.

The talk among Democrats is that a future Palin candidacy would be a gift to their party.

Sarah Palin's only hope would be to re-invent herself as someone who is moderate, religiously tolerant, and much more knowledgeable, and to convince people that this is real. She'd lose a lot of the social conservatives, but she'd at least have somewhat of a chance to compensate for that with the moderates who rejected her in droves during this current election. However, even this strategy would be a long-shot for her.
