Daddy Day Care -- Rod Stewart Style

For a man with seven kids from five different women, Rod Stewart sure has some peculiar parenting skills.

The 63-year-old rocker used an umbrella to hold on to his almost three-year-old son Alastair in Venice on Thursday.

Do ya think he's crazy?

19. What a great idea for umbrella use. Leave it the Brits/Scots/Wales to have a humane "child leash". Gotta love the move!

20. I think it's a SAD picture. I just saw his older son, Sean, last night on Celebrity Rehab on VH-1, breaking down, talking about how his father was never there when he was growing up and that's a reason he's an addict today. Well, at least he's there for his young son.

21. We have one of the backpack animal "leashes". For all opponents of it, I'd just like to say that I'd rather get nasty looks from you guys than have my super independent-doesn't want in the stroller-or mommy to hold his hand- toddler running off into traffic and getting killed. Everyone wanting to report me to CPS for abuse for using it is worth the peace of mind and happy explorer of a daughter. I used to give parents the same looks until I had a few kids of my own. And yes, I'm white....and learned of their existence when my black friend brought one to the zoo to keep tabs on her little boy. I didn't really take that comment as racist, just kind of silly.

22. 7 kids with 5 different women IS disgusting. i dont care how much money you have, you cannot devote the time and attention necessary for raising a child with that many kids. i dont care what the age range of his kids are, 7 kids with 5 women is disgusting!!!

23. When my kids were young I used a leash. They were too friendly and would go to almost anyone that wanted a hug.
At an Airport some Lady confronted me and said I was treating My child like she treats her dog.I looked at her and just said "you love your dog enough to put him on a leash to keep a stranger from taking him or getting lost right ?" She shut up.
When Your a parent you do what you have to to keep your child safe.

25. I was such a good kid that I did not need to be put on a leash. Although, I did spend several years in therapy.

27. I LOVE this picture, i saw it and thought! SWEET, only someone who is a parent can really appreciate this picture. And for the ignorant rants previously posted! Its easy to assume when you have no experience parenting a child! You'll be eating your words when you bring a child that you love above life itself into this world. "just teach your child to listen to you' well easier said than done!! Also only something a parent ( that acually spends generous time with there child) would understand!! You love your children so much you will do anything to protect them, even endure ignorant stares from STUPID people!! ugh!

28. ahahha, cute picture and i do not think he's crazy! it's quite endearing, actually. and you people fighting about 'kid leashes' are just too funny. i always chuckle when i see a kid on a leash, because you KNOW the kid has to be out of control to be on a leash... if i had an unruly child, i'd just get a taser instead to nip that crap in the bud...

I'M JOKING, btw. get a grip, people! why don't you debate some real issues other than child leashes. like how people in this country should really THINK ABOUT IT before having children. just because you CAN reproduce, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

overpopulation, anyone? not to mention children who are neglected and or abused because people have kids either just because they can or because they didn't actually think about what a big responsibility it is or consider what kind of parents they would be. and it is my personal belief that these mistreated/unwanted children grow up to become criminals, murderers, and otherwise unhappy and unbalanced people. and everyone wonders why this society is going to hell in a handbasket. it's not that hard to figure out why the world is the way it is!

yeah, just a thought.....
