Suspect Confession in Hudson Case?

William Balfour -- the only suspect in the Hudson triple murder case -- allegedly told his current girlfriend he was involved in the murders of Hudson's mother and brother, according to sources at the Chicago Tribune.

Balfour's girlfriend in turn told police what he told her. The Tribune also cites sources saying Balfour "acknowledged being at Hudson's Englewood home" on the morning Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother were shot to death inside, and Jen's nephew was abducted and later killed.

These are incredible statements considering William -- who has not been charged with a crime -- could be released tomorrow morning pending a decision by the Illinois Prisoner Review Board on whether he violated the terms of his parole.

Chicago police refused to comment.

16. This case reminds me so much of the JonBenet Ramsey case. Why hasn't there been an arrest yet???

17. This whole thing STINKS of corruption. I hope they are just waiting to build their case before they announce what happened and are not just being fooled.

19. The real culprit of this whole mess has to be drugs. Possibly a deal went wrong involving Jason Hudson and William Balfour. Maybe Jason Hudson owed somebody a huge amount of money? The reason the Chicago P.D. and the FBI aren't saying anything (or doing anything) is because they want to catch the big fish, probably Balfour's supplier. And I don't think Julia Hudson is innocent in anyway; she must have known something. The sad thing is, Darnell Donerson and Julian King are the innocent ones that just got caught in the middle.

21. Ok # 14 So he told his girlfriend he was involved , 'involved'
being the word as opposed to 'committed' seems
to indicate the possibility that he did not act alone, and as you
pointed out he supposedly 'told his girlfriend' (lets not forget this is second hand info)
that he was 'involved' in the murders of the 'mother and brother', but yet no confession or admitting involvement where Julian is concerned.
Hence my point that for many of us following the story things just do not seem to add
up and it raises questions that this was something Balfore did on his own or for his own
reasons. I just think there is more to the story. You have no more
info than anyone else so why is your take any more realistic or valid??

22. The guy hasn't been found guilt by a court yet, so he is innocent until proven otherwise. That is how the legal system works, even if he looks like a despicable individual with a career in crime, they cannot put him behind bars just because we don't like him or because of some hearsay expressed by his pregnant chicken.

This is no CSI where they can trace everything. CSI is not reality. Thousands of crimes remain unsolved. You never hear about them in the media.

Just a sad sad story.

24. He did it. He looks like a no good hood rat and he already has a violent criminal history. He needs to be put away for life. God rest the souls of Jennifers mother and brother.... and especially poor little Julian who was COMPLETELY innocent and helpless. Even if Balfour walks, he will pay in hell.

25. If true, this confessio is more than what is needed to charge him. This trumps the hearsay exclusionary provision of the law, as a first party in this case, directly admitted guilt to a secondary party. That is evidence enough to charge the suspect and proceed with grand jury testimony, an indictment, and a death penalty criminal trial.

28. I wonder how long he'll last on the streets if he is released? I've read that there may have been an accomplice, and certainly, that person isn't gonna want Flex running around loose, if he is the one who did it. Nope, old Flex might be safer in jail. I think they want to make sure they have an airtight case before making any arrests in this case since it's so high-profile.
