Here's the link to one of the articles regarding the Sunday night search; this one refers to their also searching the building and immediate area around where WIlliam was arrested. I know there is another one that references an area-wide search there but I have to look through a LOT of stuff to find it... our Chicago newspapers had so much in them about this case. Whatever the case, with everybody in Chicago on the lookout for that white SUV, I'm sure that the police would have spotted it if it was anywhere in that area on Sunday night.

that's what came to mind after reading your comment. it could be a coincidence, but it doesn't sound like it.
logic isn't really a priority in these forums so i am always interested in reading what you have to say, it helps me to keep things in perspective.

I guess you're right; this is a gossip blog, not necessarily a forum for analytical thinking. The reason this case is so disturbing to me is because I've thought from the start that, while William is an easy target to "blame," because of his background, I just don't think that's the real answer here because I don't understand what his motive might be. The last thing a person who's on parole after having spent seven years incarcerated wants to do is go back to jail. If there was something he wanted in the house, like money or drugs, he knew the family well enough to know where stuff was stored, and what their habits and schedules were, so with minimal planning, it would have been easy enough to get whatever he wanted without killing anyone. "Domestic violence?' I don't think so. He obviously wasn't interested in controlling anyone, since he had already moved out and moved on with his life. Though he and Julia were "separated," members of the Hudson family were also his friends, since they'd all grown up and gone to grade school together. The fact that he still visited frequently, and spent time with Julian, hints that the relationship was still somewhat civil. Assuming that he went into some kind of blind rage to take everybody out, including the little boy to whom he claimed to be a "proud parent," just doesnt make sense to me.

65. I'm sorry Nona...your friend is a liar from the pits of Hell. As previously stated in an eariler comment, they immediately obtained Balfour's cellphone records. Do you not think the CPD would have contacted her immediately for information? Let's just say she was scared to speak up then...so where'd she get the balls to speak up now? Another crack in the case that doesn't make sense to me is the supposed girlfriend who says he confessed to being involved with the murders or the brother and mother, but not that of the child...recently adds to her state (at the hearing)...oh, I saw him with the murder weapon too. C'mon people, if she was bold enough to give the first piece of information, she would have given it all at once, right? I believe CPD got to the girlfriend and threaten to charge her with accessory to murder. I do STRONGLY believe Julia is involved in this some how. Not once have I seen her denounce her estranged husband...wonder why? There are a list of things that baffle me because they are unclear/unanswered:

1) Who REALLY found the bodies of the brother and mother (Julia, the neighbor, or a relative...I've heard several versions)?
2) Why did Julia have to go to work as a school bus driver, if the kids were out of school for the day?
3) Why didn't the killer(s) wait until night to commit the act, when everyone most likely would have been home? Why spare Julia?
4) Why is she constantly checking her myspace page? We gave her credit while Julian was missing, but know he's gone...what's her excuse now...I need her to get off myspace and grieve!!!
5) Why won't they release the time of death for Julian? This is key information!
6) How can they say the gun found is the same gun used in the murders by simply comparing shell casings to the unfired bullets in the gun. Where's the bollistics testing...the type of gun found is too commonly used in shootings.
7) Why was the brother shot a few months prior in Gary, IN and chose not to seek medical attention? Did he fear someone was after him or the police would detain him for something he probably had no busy doing or being involved in? Also, keep in mind that Gary, IN is close in proximity to Michigan.
8) Who stole the gun (alleged murder weapon) from the brother's house? And even more baffling from the original owner in Michigan? How long ago did the original owner report it stolen? Could have been back when the brother was shot in Gary, IN (possibly connecting the brother and the original owner).
9) If the brother and Balfour were members of a gang...how come this couldn't have been retailiation of some sort? I'm assuming they were both members of the Black Disciples since they once coinsided with one another. What rival gang members you know live with each other?
10) And, last why don't we see Jennifer Hudson in any of the family pictures? What's the beef she got with Julia. Heck, we see Fantasia chillin' with the family (isn't that Jennifer's friend). Why haven't we seen Jen.?

I personally, think there are so many possibilities as to what motivated someone to do this...and they are holding William Balfour uncharged because they have no evidence against him, probably because he didn't do it. However, he has the rapsheet and it looks good to have someone in custody, rather than no one. Now, I do believe he knows something about the murders or may have even arranged it. But if he did, I believe his wife, Julia, took part in the planning. We see stranger things by the day, so I don't put anything past anyone, not even if their BLACK. Hell, we all were shocked when we found out the DC Sniper was black. God forgive me if I'm wrong!!!

66. I agree, their is a lot of unanswered questions, but CPD have a lot going on in Chicago at the present: Not working on this case!!!!!!!!!!!!!Julia should write a book, she would become famous! I'm betting she has all the answers to everyone questions.

Unfortunitly this is the sadess case I have ever heard, How ever you all seem to have great point of veiws, The Media is so horrible with things like this, The facts remain that there is a menace to society either in jail and not charged, which is kind of contradicting for the Chicago police department, they'd give anything for the ratings on this, or they don't have the evidence that's needed to charge him yet, Or they have another suspect that they are zoning in on, and can't chance them being out together, However it's seems crazy for a high profile caes too loose attention instead of gaining it.
I clearly is starting to make know sense and I send my deepest condolences for the Hudson Family, I Pray that it is not Balfour so that the healing Process can begin. However I am very sure that as someone stated earlier we are all going to get the shock of our lives because this story is being held way too close and I have a strange feeling that when it does come out people will be envolved that WE don't even want to be invovled.
The Horrible part is there is a chance that Balfour might not have a right to a fair Trail, So YES his Mother definitly needs to be getting that lawyer, and could be innocent but may be proven guilty because the Jury is going to look at his history and Judge him by his charactor, Or it's a FEW PEOPLE THAT EYES ARE NOT BEING FOCUSED ON.
tHE fACT THAT SHE HAS MADE CELEBRITY STATUS, and 18 days no charges Just Don't make sense, The stuff about drug dealers and Ho's, Come on now " You Guys are argueing over a lost cost, the same thing will be done to us when we die, However alot of times our lifestyles can coincide with our destiny, My Prayers are with Jennifer and Fam, but, we are all suffering from this hanous crime and would like to see a monster off of the streets.
Killing Julian or anyone was just going to far, But that baby was truely unneccesary.

And truth be told what's done in the dark surfaces to the light, Do you guys think that Jennifer Didn't expect all of this to come out, we were unaware of what was going on but the Family knew all of this would most likely surface, Another thing as someone else mentioned Balfour was in custody after the first two bodies were found on Friday, So who had Julian Untill Monday and whoever had him had to know that If they didn't Kill him he could tell exactly who they were so there was no way possible to keep him alive, Wrere as Balfour I think probably would have let him go, because whoever done it wasn't thinking if Balfour was in Jail, How could he kill Julian.
I think everyone Pages need to be looked at , cousins, sister's, Fiance's who ever because what it all boils down to is MONEY, car payments, DRUGS, MONEY IS THE ROOT TO ALL EVIL.
This is Sad, and I Pray that this doesn't get more heartbreaking for the Family, But please bring this person to Justice, Before more families end uplike this.
My beleif is that it is someone that they are not expecting, That It wasn't supposed to go this way and that teir goal was to Kidnapp that baby for ranson money, And that the Mother wasn't supposed to be their, They probably were awrae that they may have to shoot the Bro. but didn't intend to kill him. I can't see someone opening the door for someone that they feel will hurt them, and who ever it is maybe they need the house phone records from the last 20 day's because whoever done this knows the family well if enuff to know their routine which means if they weren't talking to the Mom they had to be talking someone who knew enuff to plan their moves. 71. Teenashay, I see where you're coming from on a few points, not all of them, but some. I do agree that money (along with jealousy, and a lack of attention for Julia) played a significant role in the killings as you mentioned. It seems as if she's taken a strong liking to being in the SPOTLIGHT since the murders. Posting new pictures on myspace with ridiculous captions. However, I do not quite understand your comment regarding help and the need for a lawyer. Please clarify.

Also to correct a commonly mistranslated iverse from the bible...MONEY is not the root of all evil. It reads "for the LOVE of money is the root of all evil".

72. Hey Latturne, First Thats nice to know that you read the Bible, N ot many can quote it these days, But You are absolutely correct. And that is my point exactly the lust of money is the root to evil, Which means when your scheming on money people don't think of the worst that can happen and make dumb mistakes.
The reason that I beleive that he needs a Lawyer because even if we say that he is 100% innocent with his backround and such a high case he can be stuck with this case. I AM NOT SAYING THAT HE IS INNOCENT, However I am saying that with all of this media hype and everything that is coming out this is crazy and to me it looks like a whole lot of people can be responsible and evidence are not pointing directly at him, actually we now see that clearly this wasn't the Partridge Family and when you invite Fam, Money, Jealousy, Gangs and drugs you make a bomb. It exploded and it's starting to look like he's being set up and if you start to look into all the newspaper readings from the news papers it also kind of looks like if it was set up it was also was intented to frame him. It looks like a DAJAVU. Everything is collaborating his history and fitting into perspectives that doesn't make sense, for instance this female that came forth, If your in a Gang and you know that your going to do something stuped would you tell someone who you don't really know. I you were going to kill someone would you make it odvious knowing that the case is going to make headlines, And then he didn't get out of town he was chillin, so if he told her this wouldn't he have been hiding somewhere. But did anyone also think about the fact that it was stated that Jason Hudson, Greg King (Julians Father) and William Balfour were apart of the same gang. A little Ironic, The estranged husband and childs Father apart of the same gang Hmmmm, I don't get it thats not Gangly if you ask me in fact there's something really wrong there. You think it's possible that they helped each other or both wanted to get back at Julia.

73. For Teenashay – your post #65 – The questions you ask have been raised by many of us following the case. Here are some of the answers that we’ve learned here in Chicago:

1. First to arrive at the murder scene – Initial reports first said “a relative,” but later reports said it was Julia. She reportedly did NOT find Jason’s body, but left the house immediately when she saw her mother’s body in the living room. After calling police, she immediately went in person to the district police station and filed a “missing person report” on her son Julian. Jason’s body was discovered by responding officers in an upstairs bedroom (not visible from the front door or living room). It’s not clear to us how Julia “knew” her son was “missing” and not dead, injured, or hiding in the house if she hadn’t gone through the place. It’s also not clear why she left the area after making the call to go to the police station (about a mile and a half away) when she could have taken shelter at a neighbor’s house, waited outside, or whatever until police arrived, told them “my brother and son may be inside too, please look for them” then told the police her son was missing after they reported finding Jason’s remains and no sign of Julian.

2. Julia’s work schedule – Though some of the Chicago Public Schools system grammar schools were off for a teacher training day, the charter schools and private schools had a regular school day, so perhaps Julia’s assigned route was for one of the schools in session. Supposedly the bus company did confirm that the worked her regular shifts that day.

3. Home invasion during the day instead of at night – That one I can’t answer since we really don’t know the motive. It might be that NOBODY was supposed to be at home… perhaps it was thought that Julian would be going to school, and that Jason and Darnell would be on the way driving him or returning (his school was some distance from home). If theft of something was the motive, maybe no one was expected to be there, and that’s how the whole mess went wrong.

4. Julia and MySpace – As others have expressed, everyone has different ways of responding in grief or stress situations. And, maybe it’s someone else logging on with her password. We don’t really know how she’s feeling.

5. Julian’s time of death – You are right, this IS key information. Based on reports of having seen Jason’s white SUV being driven around the Lawndale area throughout the weekend, and eventually being parked where it was found Monday with Julian’s remains inside, we know that there was a lot that happened AFTER William was already in custody (which was around 6 PM Friday evening). If police released information that indicated that Julian was killed after that time, it would prove that William didn’t kill him. Until the remaining family members and police have figured out how to *publicly* handle the news that others might have been involved, I don’t think this will be known.

6. The murder weapon – I’m not a gun expert, but it is my understanding from friends and relatives in law enforcement that every gun leaves unique markings on a bullet fired from its chamber and barrel (scrapings or marks on the metal) that can actually be matched to the individual gun, just like a fingerprint can be matched to a person. So, if police have stated that bullets in all 3 victims were from the same weapon, they have the ballistics testing results to confirm this.

7. Jason’s prior injury – In most areas, the law requires that whenever a person goes to a hospital emergency room, neighborhood clinic, or doctor’s office to seek treatment for a gunshot wound, the health care providers are required to call police to come and take a report and do an investigation if needed. Whatever happened, Jason must have decided that he didn’t want the police to be involved. Might have been because he was involved in something he regretted, might have been he was fearful of retaliation from others if police found out something about the situation. Since he can’t tell us now, we don’t really know.

8. The weapon’s history – That isn’t clear from media and police reports yet. It’s also not definite that the murder weapon was the same gun as the one stolen from Jason; it’s been said that he had one of that type, but .45s are not the rarest guns on earth. Regarding how the gun got from Michigan to Chicago, there may not be a direct personal connection. Guns are stolen and traded illegally all the time in urban communities. It could have passed through many hands before ending up with the killer.

9. Gang issues – You’re right, this could well have been related to “business” and not any kind of domestic dispute. Reports here have indicated that Julia, William, Jason, and Greg (Julian’s father) had the same gang affiliation, and this is also seen in the pictures posted on Julia’s website.

10. Jennifer has chosen to maintain a low profile for her own reasons. Perhaps she’s both grief-stricken at the deaths, and confused about how to handle the eventual outcome of the investigation. She may need to gather her thoughts and make her own plan for moving forward before facing the inevitable questions from her fans and sponsors. I wish her well in healing from the trauma caused by this tragedy.
