Southsidechicago, Queen Latifa and Alicia Keyes were singing a song called Independent Woman and Queen Latifa started to say womens names she said Darnell was a strong woman and she also said Jennifer and Julia did a good job. There was other women names she mentioned. I was very surprised that she mentioned Julia's name.

77. Hey southsidechicago, I made a mistake the song is called superwoman. If you go to you tube type in Alicia Keys Live at the AMA 2008 Superwoman and you will hear Queen Latiffah Mention Julia.

78. Thanks, Blue Eyes! I will definitely check it out. I thought I caught most of that number cause it was so much fun to see Kathleen Battle singing with Alicia and Queen Latifah but I guess I missed a bit since I got a phone call at that time also.

79. And... you are right, I watched the video again and Julia did get a mention along with Darnell and Jennifer. I have no problem with a mention of Darnell, since all our moms and grandmas are indeed the unsung heroes in real life. And I expect that Jennifer will need some "super" powers to heal from this family tragedy. I haven't yet figured out how Julia qualifies for "superwoman" status but will give her respect as a bereaved mother and daughter. We shall see what happens as the story unfolds. No news here yet, I have gotten no response from the Chicago Sun Times reporter who was doing most of the coverage of this story, maybe there will be something to say after the parole hearing for WIlliam Balfour necxt week.

Our mothers and grandmothers are truly heroes Thanksgiving is the day we should honor these wonderful ladies in our life. 82. For Blue Eyes - No news from anyone here yet. I'm thinking that the reporters won't have anything to "report" til the parole hearing for William Balfour this coming week so they are just being quiet for now til they see how the law enforcement authorities and the surviving family members proceed with this.

For Monitor - I didn't catch the story about the house on local news here, but it doesn't surprise me. It's not that unusual to have some disagreements among family memebers about property and other aspects of settling the estate even when parents pass away of natural causes. I can see both sides of the issue. Jennifer was so traumatized by the whole thing that she didn't even want to go back to the house for any reason. Perhaps she feels that getting rid of the house will be a step in putting this behind her. She also has other options for living arrangements, with her condo in downtown Chicago and her travel/work schedule. Julia may figure that she will function best in the familiar environment where she grew up, and may want to hold on to the the home that I'm sure hear parents worked hard to purchase and maintain for the family. Her workplace is nearby also (maybe about a mile and a half away). Regardless of the horrific events of October 24, she probably has more happy memories of "home" than sad ones, and this might be her only viable economic option right now. There's never a big demand for vacant lots in Englewood since there are already so many, and today's real estate market makes the chances of selling anything even toughe, so demolishing the house isn't going to bring the family any money any time soon from a sale to a developer. And, she's not gonna stay at the Trump Towers Hotel forever.... this was a "help out the family" gesture extended as a courtesy in a time of crisis.

We'll see what happens, I'll post if there's any information available locally about this issue.

Thanks, Southsidechicago, I get the 411 here in Philly, some of the story are true then others are just gossip/ I wouldn't be able to move into the family home, she may have had a lot of good memories, it would be a night mare trying to stay their after all that as happen/ Today they charge Belford with the murders, he must be a bad ass if he did all that by himself. 87. HELP can anyone tell me what evidence the CPD has to finally charge William with triple murder and home invasion. I am also wondering if anyone knows the time line from when they found the white suv and Julians time of death.One more thing did they question Julia about how she knew Julian was missing if she did not go past the front door. If we don't have answers know I hope the CPD does during the trial. These questions I think are very important.

88. Can someone help me understand: Their was a lady on the news that said she seen 2 men get out of the SUV. Their was 2 other people said that they notice the SUV park across the street from their house on Sunday. Just say maybe they didn't notice it until Sunday possible it was park on Friday. Just so CPD can make a case. What happen to the other person that was seen leaving the SUV???????? Then he goes to take the shower curtain to cover Julian up after he was going to shoot him but he was shot in the SUV. Not understant that!!! Also CPD found gun powder resdue in William car lets just say they did, how can they say it wasn't their from William shooting a gun previously, the GF did say she seen him with a gun, how can they determine that's the same gun resdue?????????Help me understand!!!!!!! Who ever drove that SUV didn't have gun powder resdue on there hands or gloves but just maybe William changed gloves in mist of the murders. Just like he thought about taking that shower curtain! Their was a lot of events that took place to act along. I know you all don't want to hear this but Ms. Belfour is going to be driving that Bentley.

89. Hi again... I've been reading but not able to post for a while... something happening with the mail servers so that I don't get the "confirmation" message that allows my posts to appear. This whole situation is really bizarrre since all of the "evidence" that the States Attorney's Office claims to have is totally contradictory to what we learned from earlier police reports. Will add more if this goes through.

90. Looks like the e-mailconfirmation is working again. Latest bunch of silliness here is that the alleged "motive" for the murders was that William Balfour happened to pay a visit to the house early Friday, Oct. 24 and saw a bunch of birthday balloons there.... went into a jealous rage because he assumed they were from a boyfriend of Julia's, SAO says that they have been told that William threatened Julia earlier in the month that if she didn't stop seeing other guys he would do something awful to her family.

LOTS wrong with this picture. Hard to believe that William would be possessive about Julia for any reason. Clearly, when they separated in February, he had moved on. He was still working his job, had found another girlfriend, moved in with her (openly, since faminly and friends, and even his parole officer, knew he was there) and we've heard that the girlfriend is now expecting their baby.

Personally, I don't find it unusual that William continued to maintain some degree of amiable friendship with the whole family even after the marriage relationship didn't work out. After all, he didn't ride down the block on a white horse in shining armor one day and sweep Julia off her feet. All of them (Jennifer, Jason, Julia, and William) had been friends since they went to grade school together. And we know, according to his own statements and neighbors, that he really was attached to Julian, so continued to spend time with him. None of this adds up to his suddenly flying into a jealous rage that would be triggered by a bunch of balloons, and end in the multiple homicides of a family he obviously continued to consider friends.

I honestly don't think that the CPD is behind whatever is motivating the States Attorney's Office to go forward with what is obviously a weak case. They probably just turned over whtever information they had... even the "conflicts" that we've discussed previously... and someone at another level made the ill-advised decision to try to put the whole thing on William to close the case.
