How Mike Vick Blew $17 Mil in Two Years

Two years ago, Michael Vick thought $1,000 was chump change. Now, in the big house, 12 cents an hour. Ah, the irony.

Vick's had to file mountains of financial statements for his bankruptcy case in Virginia, and they give new meaning to free spending. The aforementioned grand was literally listed as "chump change" for his mom, Brenda Boddie. For his sister, Christina, there's $300 for "hair" -- in quotation marks.

It's not all in the family: there's the $174K for a "car" and $1,000 for shoes, too.

One thing conspicuously absent from the hundreds of pages of payments: Doggie treats.

31. For all the black people that read this as well as the whites or any race! Remember they love us when we are great, making them cheer, scoring the winning basket or touchdown! They love us when we break world records for the US, or Championships for their favorite teams! They love the Michael Jordan's until they found out he likes to gamble( the tripped out part it was his money) he can do WTF

32. He has no chance at a comeback. He's getting to an age when physical skills diminish...and lets face it, he doesn't have the IQ to get by with his mind. Never could read a defense. Had the world in his back pocket, not smart enough to keep even a piece of it. Love the way you roll....bet Brady, Manning and Favre dream of being you. Loser.

33. This coward is dead in the world of sports in America. Any team that would bring him in will be dredged in boos and disgrace from MOST of the rest of America.

What he was doing with those dogs and to those dogs proves he is a moron and a criminal.

Dump him, and his co torturers of the dogs, into the Atlantic Ocean, pushed out of an airplane without a lifejacket, and let the "fishies" have a good time with them. They will have a brief chance to see how it feels to be helpless and used like those innocent animals in that hell and snake pit he had going in that house of horrors he perpetuated because he thought it was a "fun" pastime. What a MORON.

34. Everytime you come back here to see what is going on with Vick, you see the same attitude of Vick supporters............Vick supporters do not seem to have the brains to read or understand what vick did and for how long............Vick deserves nothing from life..........never..........The Vick supporters always say, "animal lovers" as if that is supposed to be a vile condition.................You have no idea what is decent, and respectful of society..............All you can think of is how you hate whites...........Right?....................Vick deserves all he is getting and loosing................I hope everyone remembers to write the teams if someone tries to hire him back into the NFL....................The man threw away everything because of his mental capacity and character..............there is nothing there that society needs or wants ever again................I hope he stays gone forever......................

36. Are all vick lovers angry black folks? It sure sounds like it...

Same thing with OJ...the man KILLED people but because they were white, the entire black community threatened to start another violent riot in the streets of Los Angeles.

Amazing! ...AMAZINGLY sad!

37. This man had no prior record and has a concrete history of doing a greal deal of good things in the community. He is being talked about as if he raped a lady, molested a child, sold drugs to children or was caught with drugs??? This is insane, yes he was wrong to be involved in dogfighting! But there are far far worse things a human being can do. It was simple absurd for him to have to serve anything over the minimum sentence in this case while actors, athletes & other members of our society are being caught with drugs, driving drunk and are involved in wild/lewd things. 23 months for a guy who visited numerous kids in the Atlanta hospitals and gave free football clinics...thats right free! Peyton Manning and Eli Manning charge. Micheal Jordan also! There was no justice in a 23 month sentence, you might not like the guys.....but America does not suppose to be like that...it should be about the facts! And the fact is that America loves dogs and basically sent a message that we love and care about dogs more than a human being. We were too emothinal with this case. It is so absurd that it would have been better if he was caught with drugs, driving drunk & going 100 miles an hour...he would have receive much less time and public backlash...what does that about our society

38. .....................Hello D. Allen @ 10:15 AM.........Well, D. prior arrest or not, Vick broke several state, local, and Federal laws........he lied to everyone in the world about his activities,.................he was given the chance of a lifetime............It does not matter how many other terrible things you can name that are worse than the Vick case.............The Vick case is only about what Vick did to society and to the animals he had control over...........Is it correct that the lady living in Vick's house took the little boy and left...........the lady he was never married to?........(that being an item of importance in some social fabric)..............If that is true, what does that say about his character?............Again, listing other items of the world just do not apply to the Vick case.................You state that America loves dogs more than humans............really?..............Society cares about most anything and everything................THIS case is about Vick..................All the posters on here care about different things on different days...............THIS is about Vick..........So, if one thinks only about what took place for six years,.......what was done by Vick and his buddies................then the sentence is correct................I hope everyone remembers to write the teams if Vick is brought back to the NFL................There are plenty of DECENT players who they can hire..........not Vick.....................

39. It is not that blacks hate whites. It is the fact that everything is judged from the dominant cultures perspective. It has been that way since the inception of this country. It is not fair...but it is the reality of the black experience. Yes, things are getting better and blacks have more opportunities than ever before. But sometimes it is very frustrating for blacks when we are reminded or slapped in the face with the reality that the truth is generally a Euro-Americans perspective.

In High School and college we are all taught American history. Blacks know the "white" perspective..but our history is not taught in-depth...it is skimmed over. It does not speak of or more importantly educate the mainstream. For instance I've talked to numerous people who really did not know that blacks just were able to vote or go to college in the 60's and early 70's. All of the history is important because it has shaped who we are and more importanly our perspectives as a people. Because of the history...we see things different.

Again..Mike Vick was wrong. But not 23 months wrong. His history as a citizen and that crime did not match. No he was not the most polished or educated guy...but he was maturing. For some Blacks coming out of poverty & becoming rich, it takes about 6-8 years for them to project the persona that us "normal" people expect. But if he is a "Thug"...which a majority of mainstream America seems to think. And for the record more blacks than whites would disagree. Because we generally know a "Thug" when we see one...Regardless of how sad it is to say...we have been around them more. From a distance...Vick appears to be a "Thug." Just as Allen Iverson does. But over time we have come to see that yes ...Iverson might not speak, dress or live in the same manner as us "normal" people...but he is a law abiding citizen that cares about and helps people and really has a good heart. Vick is the same He had no prior criminal record. How many people in Hollywood can say that??

I understand that it is not easy for the mainstream to grasp how Blacks feel..because you are not Black. It is ok...Even the most open-minded Blacks have trouble trying to convince themselves that if Vick had blonde hair and blue eyes he would have received the same public lynching and prison sentence. We are trying but it really gets hard sometime...and that is why Blacks in general appear to be so angry when writing about Vick. He is a young immature kid from the ghetto who worked hard in a craft and was rewarded by playing in the NFL. He did not get involved in the things that took down many others in his enviornment.(guns, drugs) He did something that is very prominent in rural America...dog fighting. Yes it is wrong in the eyes of mainstream America & that can not be taken lightly. But for a first mistake in a young mans life....Black America in general has a problem with him being publically lynched and then sentenced to 23 months for this act. Again...he was not involved with guns, drugs, working as a spy for Bin Laden or stealing money like numerous government officials or the people who are affiliated with the Sub-Prime Loan scandel.

Enough already..let the man get a new start. He has served his time & I hope to God he is not bitter. He did this to himself & has no one else to blame but himself. BUT THE MAN RECEIVE A RAW DEAL.

40. I know dog fighting is bad, especially to people who really weren't aware it existed until Vick's situation. Leonard Little(another NFL idiot) killed a woman with his car while he was drunk. Got off, then got another DWI a few years later-and got off again. How does Vick take so much heat for this, when we do so many horrble things everyday in the name of freedom to fellow human beings Ever heard of Collateral Damage? I think it' shows domestic cultural differences.

41. ......................Hello D. Allen @ 11:20 AM..........After reading your post, I have come to the conclusion that you are possibly a female.........maybe over 50 yrs old.........maybe someone who has seen quite a bit of life and are not some local yahoo.................Why?.............because of your empathy and compassion for Vick and his situation...............Your trying to explain to white folks how the black population sees things...............You are obviously a reasonable person.......but I cannot agree with you about Vick.............You would have to ask yourself, why do I want to forgive and forget this particular act?..................why do I feel sorry for this Vick person?..............I do not actually know him personally or professionally..................so why do you care about his well being?...............That question is the more important item.................Now I wonder how far wrong I am?.............................Every society has had it's top and bottom people................every society has a bell curve to it's existence...........I would assume the white, caucasion, western european, group is on the downhill side and just don't know it yet.............The world is always changing albeit very slowly sometimes....................Vick is one of those stories in life that just didn't work out..............I hope he stays gone forever...........................

42. I THINK IT"S SO UNFAIR THAT YOU ARE SO RUDE ABOUT MIKE VICK THE FOOTBALL HERO, SO WHAT ABOUT HIS MISTAKE WITH THE DOGS . HE STILL IS A HUMAN BEING AND I PRAY HE GETS HIS LIFE BACK ON TRACK SOON THANK YOU .
