31. This whole thing is a conspiracy to get higher ratings.
The girl wasn't supposed to die, she was supposed to pretend to O. D., and then be rescued by Paula and Randy. This would make their ratings would go up.
The producer (Simon) decided at the last minute to let her O.D. for real and then the ratings would be even higher.
If you don't believe me, listen to the 9-11 call, it's Simon's assistant producers voice.

You are right #29 just the thought yes yes omg like simon would say its awrful and even that one she did with randy she was lip singing when she sang on idol they so call get rich quick celebrity are fouling people they are bad and they are getting money for it thats why i will listen to it for free online what ever they doing with no loss am not going to make you rich for nothing you have to earn it people like clint. harrison etc those are the real celebrity.

33. She should help out with funeral costs out of morality,after all she did break that poor girls spirit on national T.V for entertainment purposes. No one is responsible for a mentally ill persons actions but we are responsible for how we treat people! Paula Abdul is nothing special,Her singing career never took off ,She is less than average in looks without all that money or make up or cosmetic surgery she looks like a chimpanzie! I lost all respect for her becouse of how she treated Paula Goodspeed!

34. Maybe she is pretending to be on the phone so she isn't asked stupid questions by the paparazzi. And NO she should not offer to pay for this woman's funeral. The woman had mental health issues, we are lucky she didn't hurt anyone physically but herself. Maybe Idol will be less nasty to people for the sake of making fun of them for ratings. Many of the pre-contestants seem to have slight mental issues such as being delusional, lower I.Q,'s, or other issues. Some people can't handle it while others cope just fine. I haven't been a fan of Paula's for years because of her odd behavior on the show, but I certainly believe she feels terrible this woman took her life.

36. Paula Goodspeed could not sing at all. The judges were right for not putting her through to the next round. I like Simon, but he needs to stop talking about the contestants physical attributes. She couldn't help because she was wearing braces. Randy and Paula don't do that. I'm just wondering why her parents or other family members didn't help her concentrate on her other talents. She could dress, dance, and draw.

40. Paula can not be blamed for this. It was an mentally ill obsessed fan..It's a good thing she didn't take Paula out with her.. The family of dead girl looks really white trash,and doesn't look the type to talk with their own child to knock some sense into to her before she continued the madness. They should have got her help.. I think it's unfair to dump guilt on Paula when someone is SICK in the mind obsessed with anyone in that way.. I notice there us alot of Idol Contestants that are possibly mentally off.. But all I can say is WHERE IN THE HELL WERE THE PARENTS WHEN THESE KIDS WERE GROWING UP. I think parents need to get their act together,and ACT LIKE PARENTS! It's one thing to be a fan but when the reality turns into day to day craziness then it has crossed the line..

45. Its sad what Paula Goodspeed did to her self. Sources say that she changed her name from Sandra to Paula about 16 years ago...This entire situation reminds me of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. (Google it for those that dont know what that is). Goodspeed was focused on something that would never come to fruitioin. That coupled with her mental state + Public humiliation + not seeking help = self destruction. If her needs were properly met she would have found self actualization.

P.S. Paula Abdul should not have to do anything out of the ordinary because of Goodspeeds actions. Im sure that Goodspeed watched American Idol before she auditioned and knew that harsh words would be exchanged. Goodspeed was obviously out of touch with reality.
