Larry the Cable Guy -- Can't Hang with Fake Twang

One minute he was talkin' like a redneck, but the next 'Larry the Cable Guy' was speakin' like a total yuppy -- WTF?

Even though his voice changed, the Blue Collar comic -- real name Daniel Lawrence Whitney -- was still allowed into fancy-pantsy Madeo restaurant on Beverly last night, despite the fact he was dressed like a hillbilly.

No sleeves? No problem -- especially when you're worth about $20 mil.

4. In an interview he did, he talks without the southern accent. The accent is part of his act. Get over it TMZ. Next thing you know you'll be back on the whitewashed Beyonce again.

6. Hey lay off Larry....some of us like his humor and to Rita... you are taking his comic act a bit too personally. If you don't like it don't listen. It's just that simple.

10. He may have broken his character's strong southern accent, but he still only reduced to a soft southern accent. Where do you get "yuppie'? I don't see it.

12. His twang IS part of his act.

He's been a "comedian" for years before he threw on the accent. In most parts of the country, he was booed off stage and generally just not liked. So, he threw on a fake accent knowing that southern bumpkins are more easily entertained than higher brow crowds and took his pathetic act to the hicks and hillbillies who lapped it all up. It's the same crowd after all that voted for George W. Bush, another northerner who threw on a fake (and bad) southern accent to get these idiots to follow him.

I can't hate on Larry for making money off his crappy act, he just found a crowd that was dumb enough to buy into it. It's not my cup of tea, but then again, I wear shoes and brush my (real) teeth.

13. So tell me all you anti-Larry haters.......................just who the hell do you like as a comedian? Give some of us Larry fans a chance to judge YOUR tastes in talent. Do you have the "balls" to list your favorite comedians?

14. "Larry" sucks. Actually his fans suck.
Dan Whitney:

Good comedians? Carlin, Lenny Bruce, Dangerfield, old Steve Martin, RICHARD PRYOR? Not Dan Whitney.
