More Wrestlers Put a Herpin' on Each Other

Another major herpes outbreak -- and once again the herps perps are accused of being wrestlers.

Almost one year after a herpes outbreak brought high school wrestling in Minnesota to a stand-still, three new wrestlers from York College have filed a lawsuit, claiming they got the herp and all the fixins after grappling with an infected teammate.

Symptoms were -- but were not limited to -- a "thick crust of dried puss [sic]," itching, swollen lymph glands and ... embarrassing talks with the GF.

The boys are suing their coach and trainer, who told 'em not to worry about the fact their herped-up teammate was coming back to practice after three days, rather than five, as the NCAA stipulates.

The suit also points out herpes simplex 1 is often referred to as "Herpes Gladiatorum" -- Latin for sweaty boys all over each other.

They want $50K from the school.

16. If you are sexually active and have sex with at least 5 people per year you have probably been exposed. Condoms do not offer much proctection from herpes. It can be passed easily during foreplay. And evidently just by wrestling? Who knew? Condoms can minimize but herpes is so catagious and common there are alot of people who have it that never have symptoms. It's also unlikely alot of people get tested for HSV 1 and 2 unless they have a reason to believe they've been exposed or have shown symptoms. In spite of all that, there are much worse viruses to be carrying around.

17. This is my school!!!! How weird that it would be mentioned on this site...it's a small, pretty unheard-of college.

19. Well, YORK COLLEGE SPARTAN, it may be prudent to start wearing a full body condom on campus.

20. Anywhere from 80 to 90% of American adults have herpes type 1 antibodies, which means they've been exposed to it and may or may not show symptoms. Also, one in five American adults... that's TWENTY PERCENT... have genital herpes (type 2) and don't even know it because there is no regular screening for it. Most of the American adults with genital herpes are female. TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT) of all American women of all races and socioeconomic backgrounds have genital herpes (herpes type 2). Condoms may or may not protect against herpes.

21. Yeah, quite insane to see this, I'm from York. Never went to York College, but I think these kids are idiots. It's herpes, these guys are in college...can't tell me they never rocked the dirty with any chicks. This is a totally unprovable case. Bunch of tools trying to sneak a free ride. Real smart. Welcome to York College education. There, I said it.

22. k well...I'm pretty sure this story is untrue. wrestlers aren't suing the school, it would be buzzing around campus. and I don't think it really has anything to do with a "york college education" or what that even implies. york has consistently made the list for the top schools with the best education for your money.
