Celebrity Justice
Civil War Erupts in Beverly Hills

A trial starts today in a battle between the classes -- the classes being the rich and the much richer.

The battleground is one of the most exclusive areas of Bev Hills, called Beverly Park, which is divided into Northern and Southern parts. The South Beverly Park Homeowners Association is suing the North BPHA -- the posher part where Barry Bonds, Rod Stewart, Sly Stallone and Denzel Washington reside -- because the hired help and others for the Southern masters have been blocked from entering on the North side.

Housekeepers and gardeners have been forced to take a seven-mile detour to enter on the South.

The judge is expected to instruct the jury, "Four score and seven years ago...."

16. Isn't there a war going on? Isn't the top US auto makers about to dump thousands of workers into the unemployment lines? Isn't that the sound of the US economy being flushed down the toilet? Isn't that the sound of gunshots being fired in our children's schools? Isn't that the quiet sound of our empty or near empy wallets and purses? Isn't that the sound of total mayhem and misery? Isn't that the sound of wealthy and spoiled celebrities crying about the minimum wage hired help causing major traffic jams in Beverly Hills? Isn't that the sound...

18. If it's a PUBLIC street they are talking about, it's fair game for those who cut through.

21. Isn't it about time we stop letting the wealthy do what they want? Their greed is what's killing this economy. It is okay to make money, it's okay to make alot of money. But at what expense? When you keep squeezing from the american people to the point they can't breathe. Then enough is enough. The oil company executives should be arrested on collusion charges. The Ceo's of all the american automakers need to resign. The executives of AIG need to be arrested as well. I have been out of work for 7 months. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the poor rich people and their F ing problems. Boo Hoo. Let's seized their property and sell it to pay for the homeless to get off the street. Let's take the oil companies profits and put it towards education. And somebody please tell Leno we don't care if his rich ass is out of a job. Boo Hoo.

23. Comment #19 by Superman hits the nail right on the head! Sorry to hear you've been out of work- hope things improve there but you've got a good head on your shoulders-you know what REALLY needs to be done. And when the rest of the population wakes up and smells the coffee, it'll be time to start a revolution.

24. Who cares about rich people in Beverly Hills with their botox faces, skeletal bodies, hair transplants and fake boobs? They may have tons of money but they are so insecure and yet arrogant. Most of them are idiots. Black, white or Arab, just a bunch of whiny crybabies in overpriced houses. If their egos get any bigger, the whole city will sink into the earth - straight into the pits of hell.

26. Apparently the Southside, the less affluent side of BeverLY Park have been using the road in question
for more than 20 years, out in the open. In realestate terms this is called (EASEMENT BY PERSCRIPTION.)
And is quite legaL.
sO the Northside will just have to eat it. believe me, they can afford it. Considering the street
only cost them all, in all $145,OOO year to maintain..... ARTOFWAR

27. Beverly Park is not in Beverly Hills. It is technically part of Los Angeles City and in realtor lingo it's know as BHPO, Beverly Hills Post Office. TMZ, please, try to get the facts straight.

30. I'm guessing this has to do with getting stuck behind a gardener driving up the hill on Coldwater Cyn @ 25 MPH. Yes, it is quite aggravating, but these people have a right to make a living, just the same as you and I. What I find annoying is the trash pickup day (C'mon! Don't clog traffic *during* rush hour...wait 2 hours!) or, even more annoying... when the residents decide to throw a party and congest the hell out of the canyons with valets. At any rate, the problem is that the canyons are the fastest way from Beverly Hills/Century City/Hollywood to the San Fernando Valley, and the homeowners tire of the constant traffic. I think it more prudent to seek an alternative... I'd vote for a tunnel that ran under Beverly Hills.
